what Melanie could do if Jan Spears were to awaken and reappear in Salem!  That could definitely exceed the great  Sami/Nicole rival scenes we so enjoyed.    The character of Melanie has taken a greater leap from ‘dislike’ to ‘appreciation’ for the viewers than we were given of Chelsea.  In my opinion, Chelsea grew up w/Dr. Dan’s help but the actress’s desire to ‘go-forth-and-prosper’ left us too soon. :(

I graduated in June of 66, so that’s when I got to ‘watch’ although I knew all about DOOL as my stay-at-home Mom watched and she kept me filled in on who did what and said what to whom.  You’ve got to appreciate how DAYS s/l’s were current with the times, way back then.

If you’ve never watched B&W TV (becuz that’s all there was), you’re a different generation than I.

John & Marlena were at the core of DOOL.  Between the two of them, they connected to everyone and anyone who’s walked or is currently walking the streets of Salem.

And Steve and Kayla, as you said, so were misused by the writing staff that they didn’t stand a chance.  Those of us who knew them from the get-go (Oh, how I love the Oh Look A Bird site — to watch those old clips of their back story) kept watching for references, expressions, etc to warm our hearts but, alas… we were disappointed.  Those two actors delivered their best, but the stories written for them were lousy, to say the least.

Lawrence himself?  Since we don’t know the entire back story yet, Lawrence could have taken the baby away for her mother (who is now believed to be dead) and Carly is really the stepmother trying to fill a void.  Or maybe there is an inheritance involved!  If Lawrence had the ‘affair’, and has been taunting her all this time, that could explain why Carly stabbed him, ran and is seeking the heir.  How about that idea?  If Melanie is the ‘child’ she could be richer than Philip ?  Hmmmmmm

if EJ enlisted the aid of Anna to ‘keep Sydney away from Stephano’, but I have a hard time believing EJ being demented enough to do this to Sami.   Although EJ is ripe enough, after everyone has manipulated his life behind his back (Stephano, Nicole, Sami & even Victor) that he could be showing his ‘evil’ as being capable of turning on the girl who was once the love of his life (after all she has Rafe now), to turn against  the father who supposedly loves family in front of everything else (what a joke!), and to be rid of the wife who is the cause of turning his entire life upside down.   Ah Ha, that’s why EJ is working with the police — it’s a ruse!   But when Anna learns she has become the ‘pawn’ (so irronically referenced to the other day when Stephano & Kathryn were playing chess) then EJ will discover he’s enlisted the aid of the wrong ‘blonde’.  Look out EJ !

The writer’s have us stumped and running with ideas from all different directions.  I haven’t heard about staff changes, but where ever this ‘talent’ came from, it sure is refreshing!

Could Anna be an acquaintance w/Vivian’s ‘boy’ (sorry I haven’t listened for this guy’s name)?  Since he’s been snooping and listening around Salem on Vivian’s behalf, he could have ‘shared’ conversation w/Anna and given her a ‘great idea’.  If Anna wanted to return Sydney to grandpa Roman, why keep the baby for a long time?  I’m thinking she’s waiting for the right time to ‘step in’ and take what should rightfully be Tony’s and, if anything, Roman will become her guilty conscience.

the final appearance of Kayle and Steve.  I know they didn’t ‘come in’ in 2009, but they were ‘returnees’.  Stephen’s acting can run circles around the comedic or dramatic scenes of Vivian.  And Steve and Kayla wouldn’t have messed up Bo & Hope’s relationship!  And Steve and Kayla would be there for Caroline!  And they’d be a family connection w/Justin!

I’ll be listening for the sound of ‘boots’!

Oh, how I’d love to watch Marlena do that ‘hhhhhhh’ noise as she expresses how much she loves John or how something tugs at her heart.  J&M brings back ‘love’ to the screen.  I vote w/you Pammydog.

Bo & Hope’s bedroom and Abe & Lexie’s bedroom, Zach’s old bedroom (I supposed now Ciara’s); Maggie’s restaurant (which has been pretty quiet since Marlena & John left)

This ‘surprise’ secret that Anna is the kidnapper is showing some great writing and professionalism for the good of the show!  Kudos

Anna was always one to ‘get in the last word’ and now the newer viewers will get to see her ‘spunk’ as us older viewers always knew was there.  It will be fun to see how she plays this out with Roman as she ‘snoops’ around.  I’m hoping for this direction rather than "oh, Tony didn’t really die", it was Andre being the imposter again!

was Edward Quartermaine from General Hospital (who has a highly acclaimed acting history, but was a total mis-cast for the role as Mickey)

Did you notice how, in Cleveland, the meeting place outside the hospital was a simple ‘touch up’ to the pier in Salem?  The brick wall & window was refreshing, but the "L" shaped stairs was a dead give-away of the recycled scenary.

So Anna was lurking… where?  At the Mansion and overheard EJ & Sami’s conversations, so she knows Nicole is not the mother and then took off to follow Nicole?  I guess this trivia doesn’t matter if it’s all for revenge against ‘the old man’.  Sydney is Stephano’s granddaughter and that’s all she’d care about — which makes sense in the way that Stephano has been obsessing over finding the ‘child’.

OK… now … who’s working w/Anna?  Has she got her ‘boy’ like Vivian has her ‘boy’ (and yes, I too miss Ivan) who does all the walking and talking?
