I heard it from Nancy Lewis, a dear friend of mine who worked at Days for many years.  She sent me a note overnight – it’s 5:46 AM and I just saw it.

Very sad – but she had a very long life, and one would think, a good one.

Thoughts and prayers for Ms. Reid’s friends and family.

Unfortunately for every spam blocker, there’s a spammer that can beat it.

SO… if you see a spam post, please report it to me. NEVER click a link in a spam post.

Reading the post itself here on the board shouldn’t do anything but if you click the link – you don’t know where you’re going.

I deleted the post, and the user.  I scan new users every now and then and if they have an email address that makes it obvious that they are spammers, I delete them – but I can’t catch ’em all – plus we have the blogspam program installed… that’s the best I can do – so let your own common sense prevail.

    Interesting discussion.

I too, loved Johnny – he and Ed are keeping ’em in stitches in Heaven now.

I’ve watched Jay, I’ve watched Conan – both in their old shows and new ones.  I prefer Jay.  Conan just did the same old stuff over and over… on his old show when he’d come out and jump, then pirouette and all that crap – it got stale with me by the third time I’d seen it – and that was even before the monologue.

Both can give good monologues, some skits are stupid, some are funny – for both.

For the "Jaywalking" stuff… well I’m sure only the dumbest people get to air, there’s no laugh in hearing somebody answer the question correctly but I wholeheartedly believe that there are people who don’t know who the Vice President is or whatnot.

Hannity does that on his radio show – has a "man on the street" who randomly picks people to put on the air via cell phone and it’s frightening how ignorant many people are.

I didn’t read every news bit on the whys and wherefores of the switcheroo in the first place (Conan getting the Tonight show, and then Jay coming back in prime time)… but Jay at 10 didn’t work for me – set was all wrong – none of it worked IMO.

AND I didn’t like Conan on the Tonight Show – it was just more of the same junk from when he was on later.

I thought Conan might go to Fox after his non-compete expires?  I’m sure he’ll be able to "get by" on his severence… hard to feel much sympathy here.

    That’s show biz.

Joe Mascolo fits into that category too… I believe he’s 80, about to turn 81.

I recall when one of his parents passed (in the last year or two), it was revealed that he is actually older than he’d claimed to be.  I can’t tell if the age I just found by googling is his real age, or the "younger" one… his parents both lived to be over 100, I’m not sure if one is still alive or not but one passed shortly after their 80th wedding anniversary.

    Talk about genes for longevity…

    Yep… to say the least.

Watching Friday’s episode, I started thinking, "What da hell?"

She doesn’t want Chad but doesn’t want him with Gabi either (sort of like a teeny bopper version of Hope these days)…

Yet she’s all over Will like stink – and I don’t think she really wants him either.

    She’s turning into a tramp.

I hated the Possession storyline, but I’ve read Deidre Hall saying it was her fave of all time.  I tuned out during that after Mardevil desecrated the Church.  Totally not for me, that.

I pretty much missed the Garden of Eden/Alien Twins storylines, I tuned out shortly before those occurred.

There have been plenty of unbelievable storylines – some were really good, some really stunk.  Unbelievable (in terms of real life) isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it’s done well.  Unfortunately most aren’t done well these days.

I’m actually watching again – curious about who Carly’s daughter is (that’s believable) and waiting to see Melanie implode if she actually goes through with marrying Phillip – also believable.

That’s about when I started watching too – I remember Wayne’s Roman being so stubborn and sleeping in the living room in a sleeping bag to protect Marlena despite her protests!

I’ve quit watching here and there over the years but it’s like an addiction – I keep coming back!

It seems that every time they hit a conflict anymore, this is the way it goes.  Then it’s an excuse for one or the other or both to seek "comfort" with someone else… Billie, Patrick… now Carly, Justin…

You’re right – Carly has no place with Bo now.  I wouldn’t mind her sticking around to figure out the thing with her daughter or whatever, or make a new life.  I like Crystal Chappel but I don’t want to see Carly paired with Bo right now (or possibly EVER).  I might be open to it if they finally kill off Bo and Hope as a couple, put some time and space between them all, and bring it back around the right way – but I doubt that would happen either – so I’d prefer that they ALL just go about their lives, alone for a while.

Marriage counseling is only worthwhile if both parties are willing to take the advise and put it into practice.  Both Bo and especially Hope are too set and stubborn – I can’t see Hope listening to anybody’s advice. Bo maybe, but he’d probably take exception if he was told that he had to cut off all contact with Carly – and that’s what a decent counsellor would advise.

And I can see where the concerned comments are coming from.  Her sweater for the hanging of the ornaments shows a lot of collarbone/sternum/ribs… and yes, she does look rather thin, especially compared to the more buxom cleavage-showing younger set.

Still, I don’t think she’s any thinner than she has been in recent times.  That sweater wasn’t very flattering though.

There is nothing new here except for Carly’s return.  Before it was Billie’s return(s)… it’s always something.

Bo screws up in Hope’s eyes, Hope gets ticked, Hope is the victim, Hope runs away, Hope plays mind games, Hope makes Bo jump through hoops and it’s still not good enough, and eventually, Hope comes back.

Bo can’t figure her out, makes his ample share of mistakes, does too little, too late, does nothing, does something with somebody else… oblivious to it all, and eventually, Hope comes back.

In real life if either of them was my friend, I’d tell them to file for divorce.  Neither has any respect or trust for each other, there’s been plenty of infidelity to go around, and both seem to presently have wandering eyes.  That doesn’t make for any kind of real reconciliation.

If that scroll had been in her purse all these years, it would be rather dog-eared

I was a Bo/Carly fan (Peter’s Bo, didn’t like RKK at all) back in the day – but back then, Hope was "dead" (as far as we knew).

Right now I don’t want to see Bo with anybody.  Hope’s being a colossal jerk and Carly is so obviously being manipulative and Bo’s being dumb as a post.

    Everybody needs a reality check.

And I just posted my feelings about it on the main board.

Hope is a cry-baby, holds a double standard and if she really wanted to fix her marriage, she’d be at HOME, fighting for her man.  Instead she plays mind games and acts like a victim.

She left.  She won’t come back.  She won’t let Bo do anything right.

Bo could stand a few changes too – but at least he’s trying.  One couldn’t blame him for moving on the way Hope is behaving – but IMO it’s way too soon to put him in bed with Carly – but we can see that coming a mile away.

Of course I’m sure it won’t be long til Hope is doing the horizontal mambo with Justin – that’s all too predictable too.

    YUCK.

I don’t think she’s any thinner now than she has been in the past.

I do think she had her breasts reduced some in the last 10 years or so, I remember when she first returned to DOOL, her boobs seemed like basketballs against her thin frame – too big and disproportionate, IMO.  Now she seems properly proportioned.

I think she looks great.  Perhaps she could stand to gain a few lbs, but if she’s comfortable and healthy, who cares?
