Participantwhen posters are describing the shenanigans of Chloe, Nicole, Hope, Carly, Melanie, Kate, yadda, yadda, yadda, I could go back to 1965 with the characters. The truth of the matter is that people who hate Sami are never going to change their opinion of her, no matter what she does or doesn’t do. I simply feel the writing for Alison Sweeney is horrible and because of it, I cannot and will not put all of the blame on Sami. I despise the character of Nicole and could scream when people try and justify her actions by making her out to be this loving, caring, mother-of-the-year wannabe heroine most of the time, but you know what …. she really is good and kind when it comes to Johnny and Sydney. But that doesn’t justify her actions most of the time, and I’m sick of the excuse of, ‘oh, poor, poor Nicole couldn’t catch a break in life. Sami may, indeed, be her own worst enemy, but 90% of the female characters on this show can easily walk in her shoes. I think I’ve described her that way myself at times. But, I prefer to cut her some slack when I critique her. She’s certainly not the only one running around Salem acting like she belongs in a Looney Tunes cartoon; but, she’s certainly the one given the most flack for it. The only certainty of a soap fan is that we all have our favorites; those we love and those we hate and those we love to hate. I’m just a little sick of the Sami hate train I see all over (not just here) and think it’s time she’s given a well written storyline of her own where she will be given some credit or praise once in a while ….. you know, like the DiMeras and Nicole always seem to get.

ParticipantI still want to know who in the hell this guy really is. I read somewhere, maybe on Dayscafe, that Rafe2 will be ready next week, when his ‘plastic surgery’ is completed and real Rafe is kidnapped from the hospital and replaced with Rafe2. So, who was he to begin with? I realize now that is why Stefano was so very curious to know what Rafe’s external injuries were. Did he have any ‘cuts or bruises or gashes? He wanted to make sure Rafe2 had identical injuries to his face or body, and, of course, whoever is creating faux Rafe must be able to duplicate those injuries exactly (stupidity at it’s highest peak, IMO). So, who was he originally? I read that Eric Fellows (Troy) is returning, but I don’t think it’s him, because we haven’t seen him yet, and Rafe2 has already been created. Any guesses? It might last until May sweeps, unfortunately, but I would hope they reveal Rafe2’s real identity before it does end. That’s what makes these types of stories so incredulous. The faux Rafe would have to be an exact replica body-shape, height, weight, etc. as the original, and that’s what makes the whole thing DUMB-DE-DUMB DUMB!

Participantin one or two episodes. I have to wonder, then why are they here, and what damage will they cause? However, in this case, Carrie will surely be somebody Sami will be able to count on. She is going to need her sister now, so I hope it works out for both of them. I’d like to see them get close again. Sami really has no one she can turn to now that isn’t already screwed up with their own life. Carrie will be a welcome addition to Sami’s life now, but she won’t be here long enough, I’m afraid.

Participantof writers. Instead of having good actors being fired or quitting, or making room for new characters, or returning a vet but hardly seeing them, or returning a past character but with a new actor, KC should look at what is obvious to everyone else. The source of disappointment to me is the writing for the cast we do have.

ParticipantI know most of her troubles are brought on by her childish tantrums and insane courses of actions she takes when she feels she is wronged. I realize that she refuses to listen to reason, even when the person offering it is Rafe. However, it’s not always her fault. Many times she’s taunted by another (Nicole/EJ/Stefano/Kate), but, I’m never going to hate this character the way I seem to have no problem hating on others. When she met Rafe and it was obvious they fell deeply in love, I thought, FINALLY, because as far as I’m concerned, there were only two men Sami ever truly loved. The first, of course, was Lucas, who now seems to have become her best friend; the other is Rafe. I was shouting for joy when the writers finally gave her a chance to be happy, without being tortured by those hideous DiMeras (Lexi and Chad excluded), because Rafe would always protect her and calm her. But, no such luck, because the writing for Sami is, always has been, and always will be, horrendous. Not only is it not entertaining, but there will always be an insecure writing team who is AFRAID to change her, and determined, come hell or high water, to keep her connected to E.J., and for what…..to keep the fanbase wars going? That is such b/s …. most people are totally sick of them. This possible doppelganger storyline makes no sense whatsoever to me, since it is obvious they are going to create a triangle with Nicole/EJ/Taylor. Sami is now willing to sign the custody agreement (strictly because of Rafe’s persuasion), so what’s the purpose of it? NOTHING, at least where Sami and E.J. are concerned. It’s purely a plot to show that regardless of what E.J. has in his life, his main goal is to continue to please Stefano in every way, and this is what Stefano wants more-so than E.J. If in the end, it means hurting E.J.’s children by depriving them of their mother through her one true love, Rafe Hernandez, then so be it, because in the long run, if truth be told, it is what Stefano wants.

ParticipantI think our kids are close to, or have already surpassed, the limit for being off for "snow" days. In the past two weeks we’ve probably used 5. I knew we were going to get dumped on again last night, but all of the meteorologists were calling for 4-6" for my area. Of course, we wound up with 10 1/2". They never get it right, but we’re used to that. I always said I picked the wrong career.

Participantwhereas I, in usual fashion this time of year, woke up to 10 1/2" of snow this morning. BAH!

ParticipantI adore Steven Tyler; also loving Jennifer Lopez (she looked so beautiful last night with that ponytail); and even Randy Jackson looks happier now that he’s working with people ‘in the field,’ who know how to judge, yet know how to let someone down gently. I loved the last guy as well. I actually cried when they brought his fiance’ out. What a terrific guy he is, and he truly touched everyone’s heart with not only his love, but his loyalty for her.

Participanthis last tape date is February 3rd, so he will probably be on screen til’ late March, or early-April. They have not disclosed how he will be written out yet, though.
Patti
Participantis the one who got the best part of him …. TYLER (Pocket). Little boy went to a loving family who will see to it that he is showered with love, protected and secure; and, in light of his roots, will never, ever return to Salem again, never know his biological family, and what’s even better, will be told some day and won’t care.
Patti
Participantshe’s just not worth saving the way she’s being written.

ParticipantFunny, Taylor’s coming back as a blond, and Abby is coming back as a brunette. Guess they thought no one would remember what they looked like when they left.
Patti
Participantand I really don’t think they would ever consider them anything more than step-son and step-parent, if they keep her and Stefano together. No, I think they will pair Chad with Abbey at some point, when she shows up in the spring. I believe she first appears in early March.

Participantand I love her, but she was such a ditz today. All she had to do was sign the papers, and all would be fine. She puts her foot in her mouth before she has time to think. Nicole has shown nothing but love and concern for Sami’s children, and realizes she is not their mother. Even if she was right about E.J. just wanting to torment her because he knew that having Nicole there would do just that, I wanted Rafe to shake her and tell her what would make her think that he was more justified to be the kids’ step-dad than Nicole was to be their step-mom. Everything was in place, but once again she blows it …. which is exactly what E.J. was expecting. She needs to stop and think, if Nicole and E.J. don’t marry, the kids will be raised by E.J. and Stefano…..alone……in the mansion…..with no Nicole to protect them from their father and their nono. Stupid bimbo …. Sami, you certainly are a stupid ass when it comes to your childish outbursts. I despise E.J. for what he is doing, but I think your kids would be safer with Nicole in the mansion than NOT. You can’t have your cake and eat it, too; lest you lose the best of both.

Participantand leaves her infant with a sitter, and doesn’t tell the sitter or anyone else where she is? No, Chloe is definitely not mommy material, and her concerns for Parker, if truly they are there, are hidden by her selfish intent of using that baby whenever she can to get back with Daniel. I don’t know how all of this is going to pan out, but right now Chloe is not responsible enough to care for this baby. I am truly afraid for him to be around Chloe for any length of time, especially if and when she really snaps.
