None of us know. I think a major reason was they didn’t want Chad in limbo. Let’s face it, you can’t move one with the Chad and Abigail story if there’s no Abby.
TPTB did NOT want to do that. That’s why Marci had no choice but to leave. She was willing to not be on contract, but TPTB said no. So there you have it. If you’re boss says you can’t work from home part time, and you don’t want to commute to work every day, you will make a choice. If money isn’t an issue, you’ll probably choose to quit.
I think we should never question a woman’s choice to work or stay home with her child. Each person is an individual. Each person knows their own needs and their own child’s needs. I was a teacher. Are there teachers who go back to work after their children are born? Indeed there are. However, for me and the kind of life I wanted for my children, working while they were babies was not an option. I had no desire to be managing other people’s children all day and then coming home and attempting to be 100% for my kids. Actors can work all hours of the day and night. Their days on set can be really long and exhausting. I’m sure Marci wanted to give her best to her child.
As for what Freddie Smith did. That’s because TPTB allowed it. They are also allowing Victoria Konefal to work off and on. However, I read that they were not interested in doing this with Abby’s character. They wanted Marci all in or all gone. They had no desire to work something out with her. They have also said, that just because Abby has been killed off, doesn’t mean it’s forever. They could bring the character back to life one day. I just hope it’s not years from now when Chad has moved on and viewers have no investment in the character anymore.
Marci’s daughter is a baby. I think there’s a difference in wanting to spend time with your 10 month old baby and your 6 year old school aged child. I was a stay at home mom and don’t regret one day of choosing my kids over career. When they went to school, I went back to work. I’m sure Marci doesn’t want to miss the milestones.
Clyde would not help Leo because of Nancy. Anything else, would be secondary. He knows how much Nancy hates Leo. JMHO, I think Leo will be murdered and we’re going to have a lot more suspects to add to the list. I don’t think Abigail’s murder is a one off. Once Leo is killed, they’ll find the jewelry and think he was Abigail’s killer and everything is solved. But I think someone else down the line will be killed and they’ll realize they have a serial killer. I had heard Ron C. Wanted to do a serial killer storyline, so I think Abby’s death is just the beginning. Maybe Clyde will be the killer, he has motive for both Abby and Leo.
Marci Miller didn’t want to come back. She asked to leave the show so she could spend more time with her baby. I don’t understand the need to completely kill her off. I would have rather seen her go back to the loony bin or go to visit Jack and Jen until the find someone else to play Abigail. That would have made way more sense. Ron C. is saying she’s dead, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t come back in the future. Then why kill her? She’s the oldest child of a legacy super couple and they killed her! I hate that she’s been killed off “for now.” If there’s anything I truly despise on Days, it’s people coming back to life. Be original and just have them leave, or move, or go on a retreat. There are so many better ways to write a main character off the show.
I think it’s to throw the viewers off. I also read that Lucas was drinking and he blacks out with no memory of what he’s done. Also, to throw off the viewers. JMHO, I don’t think Abigail is really dead, and I don’t think it’s anyone we’ll think, who actually did it.
No way on Guy Wilson. He was awful. He couldn’t act his way out of a paper sack. I’d rather have a sporadic Chandler Massey any day over Guy Wilson.
Here’s the rumor I’ve heard twice from two different sources. We the audience, and of course all of Salem, will think it is Abigail who has been murdered, but it’s going to be a doppelgänger. Now I don’t know if that means someone who just looks like Abigail, or someone with an Abigail mask on.
I do believe the main suspect will be Leo. But, I think a bigger mystery will brew when Leo is murdered. I think there will be so many people who think he killed Abigail, and someone will want revenge leading to his murder.
But what does Leo have to lose, if Will sets him up? Nothing. I definitely think this is all leading to Leo being murdered. None of the main suspects will be the person who kills him, either. It will probably be his mother, Diana Colville. Isn’t she in prison right now for poisoning Marlena? They’ll make up some lame story where she gets out of prison and lurks around Salem for a few months before offing her own son.
I agree. If anyone is going to end up dead, it’s going to be Leo. And I have heard Kevin Spirtas is going to be back, so that could add another person to the “who killed Leo Stark?” storyline. I think they’ve been throwing us off the trail of the real whodunnit story. Abigail will not be killed off, it will be Leo.
I agree. He made his bed and now he’s acting pretty butt hurt because it was discovered. The thing is, regardless of his feelings for Craig, bigamy is against the law. He was still married. If he had really wanted to marry Craig, he should have divorced Darius, not carry on this charade. An he has no one to blame but himself for that.
I totally don’t understand this cover-up of TR’s shooting. You’re right, he had his hand raised at Paulina. He was going to hit her, he had already attacked Abe who was lying in a pool of blood. It would be justified that Lani reacted by shooting TR. Instead they’re going to drag out this insane story. I’m just glad that Lani to Eli that she shot him.
As for Sarah and Xander, nothing is easy on Days. She will forgive him again. I’m just glad someone told her that Mickey is dead. I was wondering how long that farce would go on. I’m just sad that it was Eric instead of Xander.
