Yes, Guy Wilson may have been awful to some people. But when they put his Will Horton in a casket & buried him, there was mass outrage to the hilt where they were forced to bring him back alive with no memory for Chandler’s Will to play up divorcing Sonny, falling for Paul, getting his memories back & playing up his brain tumor & etc. etc., what happens if this show is forced to bring Abigail back the way they had to bring Will back, so was it a wise move to kill Abigail off, no matter if there are differences or not?

Marci Miller didn’t want to come back. She asked to leave the show so she could spend more time with her baby. I don’t understand the need to completely kill her off. I would have rather seen her go back to the loony bin or go to visit Jack and Jen until the find someone else to play Abigail. That would have made way more sense. Ron C. is saying she’s dead, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t come back in the future. Then why kill her? She’s the oldest child of a legacy super couple and they killed her! I hate that she’s been killed off “for now.” If there’s anything I truly despise on Days, it’s people coming back to life. Be original and just have them leave, or move, or go on a retreat. There are so many better ways to write a main character off the show.

Brandon Barash has a daughter, she’s six, but you don’t see the show killing Jake off, no matter if he wants to spend time with her or not, much less wanting to leave for that matter, why isn’t Marci thinking of that?

Marci’s daughter is a baby. I think there’s a difference in wanting to spend time with your 10 month old baby and your 6 year old school aged child. I was a stay at home mom and don’t regret one day of choosing my kids over career. When they went to school, I went back to work. I’m sure Marci doesn’t want to miss the milestones.

I understand that Marci didn’t want to miss any milestones her new baby will experience, I get that, but aren’t there actors & or actresses who still work & yet not miss out milestones their children may experience no matter what age they are. Think about it: I know that Freddie Smith doesn’t have children, but still, even with how long his road trip was from L.A. to Florida with his wife, Alyssa Tabit, he still was willing to participate in a zoom with on-screen husband for New Years, right?

I think we should never question a woman’s choice to work or stay home with her child. Each person is an individual. Each person knows their own needs and their own child’s needs. I was a teacher. Are there teachers who go back to work after their children are born? Indeed there are. However, for me and the kind of life I wanted for my children, working while they were babies was not an option. I had no desire to be managing other people’s children all day and then coming home and attempting to be 100% for my kids. Actors can work all hours of the day and night. Their days on set can be really long and exhausting. I’m sure Marci wanted to give her best to her child.

As for what Freddie Smith did. That’s because TPTB allowed it. They are also allowing Victoria Konefal to work off and on. However, I read that they were not interested in doing this with Abby’s character. They wanted Marci all in or all gone. They had no desire to work something out with her. They have also said, that just because Abby has been killed off, doesn’t mean it’s forever. They could bring the character back to life one day. I just hope it’s not years from now when Chad has moved on and viewers have no investment in the character anymore.

If TPTB allowed Freddie. Then allowing VK to work off & on. I get that they weren’t interested with doing this with Abby’s character & that they wanted Marci to be all in or all gone. Then putting it out there that just because Abby has been killed off, doesn’t mean it’s forever & that they could bring the character back to life one day, then why the need to write the character’s death, just so the actress can spend time with baby, it’s not like the baby triumphs the show, given how much older the show is over the child, don’t you think?

I’ve read that Marci wanted to leave to spend time with her baby as well as take on other projects. She had to turn down some roles due to her Days commitment. It doesn’t matter why she left, only that, if her contract allows, she can do so. It’s just like most people in any line of work can decide to leave a job when they want to (assuming no contract obligations).

However, when someone leaves a job, the employer is going to move on to do what’s best for the organization and its customers. In Days situation, they decided to kill off the character since her upcoming storylines required her to be under contract. So, that leads to the question of what those future storylines were? Were they all scrapped because Marci left and now they have to write a new storyline about her death and who killed her? In my opinion, they should have replaced Marci with a new actress to play the role of Abby and just moved on.

But aren’t there actresses & as well as actors who aren’t on contract that are shown sporadically, like Allison Sweeney, she’s not under contract & they allow her to sporadically show up as well, the same with Chandler Massey, he’s not under contract & they have reduced him to recurring, they could easily have done that with Marci, remember, the newspaper that Jack & Jennifer has in Boston, they could have had her take over that paper & have her film scenes in her own home, hence, Freddie. They could easily have done that, yes, she can’t commit full term, so allow her to sporadically, especially with how they had put it out there that sometime in the future where they bring her back alive some day, don’t you think?

TPTB did NOT want to do that. That’s why Marci had no choice but to leave. She was willing to not be on contract, but TPTB said no. So there you have it. If you’re boss says you can’t work from home part time, and you don’t want to commute to work every day, you will make a choice. If money isn’t an issue, you’ll probably choose to quit.

But if there are actors & or actresses who aren’t on contract & that are recurring & that Marci was willing to do just that, why refuse it? It’s just like Freddie & Chandler, they had to learn that they were let go by way of their script instead of telling their people who would be willing to their clients.

Remember, they did say that Abigail isn’t staying dead for good, so wh6 refuse as to what she was willing to do?

None of us know. I think a major reason was they didn’t want Chad in limbo. Let’s face it, you can’t move one with the Chad and Abigail story if there’s no Abby.

So, if they didn’t want Chad to be in limbo & facing it, you can’t move on with the Chad Abigail story if there’s no Abby, so if she was willing work off contract & be their for her baby, was there a need to kill & then put it out there that she’s not staying that way, just because she has a baby.

Their have been actors & or actresses who replaces the original. Like, Robert Adamson playing Michael on General Hospital, the actresses who have played Alexis on GH, like for instance Susan Diol., heck they even used Susan Diol to play a younger version of Lila Quartermaine for a Christmas fantasy. They had Nick Kiriazis filling in for Ted King on GH, they had Ethan Erickson playing Patrick Drake on GH as well. So why not get a temporary actress to play Abigail until Miller is willing to come back again, especially when they had put out there that Abby isn’t staying dead, did they not?
