                                     JAMES SCOTT QUITTING????????

     http://tvguide.ca/Soaps/Suds/Articles/101217_suds_report_NB.htm

"The sexy and uber-talented James Scott stunned Suds Report this week with news that he may give up acting and move out of America. When asked if he’d consider giving the big screen a shot, the Brit conveyed, “I’m not entirely sure. I think I’m going to stay here for a little bit longer. We got the pickup and my contract is for a little longer. Then I’m going to wait to see what happens after that.”

Personally, I think this is just a ploy by James to renegotiate a new contract (which is up for renewal in May, 2011); or possibly have the writers fired (whom he has blatantly berated in one of his more recent interviews by remarking that the "writing f’g stinks"; but, if he leaves, it would not be the end of the show, as some might want to believe, and it certainly wouldn’t bother me, even a little bit.  Writing for his character has ‘f’g stunk’ of late.

If he does leave, I hope they let the character leave, also.  James Scott is awesome.  I can’t stand EJ!

If he thinks the "writing f’g stinks" maybe he won’t WANT to renew his contract.

so James is correct.  I love James Scott.  I don’t know what his income source is if he quits acting, but I hope he knows that as high as the taxes are here in America, they are worse in other countries…so are the salaries.   Too bad the writer’s took another actor to the point of hatred by most fans (not me!), and did nothing to redeem him in any way shape or form, unless they have him donate a body part to Johnny, (heh, if they can do face transplants for Phillip, they could do this transplant for Johnny –  (Just thinkin’ out loud).

with the writers.  If they make him such a dispicable character that people like Patti can hate not only the character but the actor himself to the point of wanting him fired from the show, I don’t think I’d want to stick around either.  Can you imagine having to deliver some of the horrible things he’s had to say?  Usually on Days, they give their villians to do something humane at least once in a while.  They have not afforded James that courtesy at all lately.

But he’ll do okay.  With his looks and talent, I’m sure if he wants to stay in the business he’ll get another job with no problem.

I don’t know how it is with other countries but my stepdaughter lives and works in Sweden.  She’s working for a small Swedish homecare company owned by her in-laws and she still has to file US taxes.  I could see if she worked for a US company over there but she’s not.

Come on, Bonbon….really????  I’ve given this guy every possible means and chance available to me to like THE CHARACTER.  At first I thought James Scott was the hottest thing in soaps.  Then I started reading his interviews, and there it was, in print, right in front of my eyes.  He, James Scott, may not be quite as smug as his character, but he’s not a bit gracious in his interviews, is somewhat reclusive in nature, and has admitted, like Dena Higley, that he doesn’t watch the show, AT ALL.  Now he gets on my nerves, yes, and I can’t help it, that’s the way I feel.  The role of E.J. DiMera can be eliminated today, for all I care.  And, just for your general information, I HATE the character of E.J., I do not hate James Scott.  I think he’s overrated; however,  simply think he is somewhat smug when he gives interviews, especially when he tells the interviewer: "and you can quote me, and include the cursing."  To that end, I say, ‘If ya’ can’t take the heat, get outta’ the kitchen.’

originated from interviews, etc.  I thought it was based on his character.  Didn’t mean to stir you up, it was just my observation from what you’ve written.

a villan – more depth and teeth to sink in their acting ability.  And James does it so well.  Diedre always said she liked and had more fun playing "the bad guy" more than being the goody two shoes all of the time, and I believe that Alison also said that.  In fact, the only main current actor I can recall on the show (in my Day’s time) that hasn’t ever been a bad guy was Bo.  I know he was a bit of a wild child in his younger days, but never a really bad a$$.  Even sweet Brady is now more interesting to watch (sans his mulitple bedroom scenes of late).

foreign country, you would still have to pay the US tax dollars like your step-daughter.  James is still carrying an English passport and working on a work VISA in the USA last I looked.  My point was the US tax dollars are high but not as high as much of the rest of the world.  And your poor step-daughter if she is paying Swedish taxes, (without some sort of loop hole) is shelling out 60 to 70 percent or more of her wages.  Same as if I move to another state, with my retirement pension, I still have to pay taxes in California.  Death and taxes – you can’t get away from like the old saying goes…

don’t like the character at all.  I also find JS’s blinking through scenes rather annoying.  If it is because he’s not wearing his glasses doing scenes then, just put them on or put on contacts! lol  I’ll never forget the vacation incident where he decided to go sans clothing on a beach and got arrested for public nudity! I’m sure there are some of the fans that would have loved to be the park ranger on that one.

if you are earning money in another country, you are still an American citizen and entitled to everything the US affords you.  So, you have to pay for all that stuff, probably the biggest thing is you can come back into YOUR country any time you want, without fear.  And you have the protection of the US government while you are away.

James Scott sounds like he has contempt for those who make his job possible: the fans. I never liked the character of E.J. and thought at one time that he was moving away from Stefano. But he is still Stefano’s son through and through. I’m hoping that Chad will prove to be the son of Stefano that E.J. could never be: a son who walks his own path and doesn’t care what Stefano wants.
