I agree – what you describe is ideal for product advertising inside the show. I’ve caught a few others doing this, esp. with cars.  But to be so blatantly obvious is a turn-off and makes me more likely to associate my negative feelings with the product.  I can’t buy Chex Mix now without thinking about how disgusted I was over this issue and then I’m not going to buy it, either out of spite or "take that" or to support a product that didn’t shove themselves down my throat during a story.

Ari’s background is supposed to be a former gang leader drug pusher?   HA!  Completely unbelievable. No way. In their dreams.

No disrepect to the actress, but she’s boring. At least she has more chemistry with EJ – because Nicole & Brady have more chemistry!  That push/pull magnetism  – that Brady can’t turn his back on Nicole no matter what she’s done.   Brady does a great job with that emotion crossing his face.

I’m behind, so I just finished watching Mrs. H’s memorial scenes and the day after.

I was surprised how much I liked Bill!  I was never a fan of Laura, so I don’t wish she’d be back, but I could definitely see Bill sticking around Salem.  Maggie/Kate/Victor/Stefano…. potential for a relationship web of interaction there.

I also wish Lucas would stay. I understand why he doesn’t, but I like his character and if he didn’t have the bazillion failed relationships surrounding him, he would be a good addition for interacting with Will, Allie, Bill, Kate, Philip.

As much as I love Jennifer, and think she needs to be here for Hope during this mess. I’m not sure Jennifer could come back without Jack/Abby and didn’t they have another child?  Maybe Jenn could come back and Jack would be "off-screen" on business like Mickey was for so long.

I did really appreciate the way TPTB brought back so many characters and had them relate to each other.  Carrie & Sami, Carrie & Lucas, Carrie & Mike.  Carrie got to do a lot of "resolving" of past wrongs/hurts.

Even if they didn’t keep all of the returning characters, it would be nice to surprise us by having them pop in for a week here or there during the year.

Some of my earliest memories are playing cards with my grandmother – she taught us poker when we were about 5.  Played "Penny Poker" or with matchsticks/toothpicks.   It was "fun" not "gambling".   Taught me a lot about cards, life, counting, etc.

My other grandmother (and the whole family) played bridge and/or dominoes (specifically 42) and never taught us kids.  Looking back I can’t believe it.  My childhood memories are of those dominoes rattling on the card table and plunk-plunk as they played their hand.  Did you know the game 42 was invented in Texas because Baptists didn’t allow card playing on Sundays? But they allowed and enjoyed dominoes?  My dad’s family were hard-shell Baptists.  Don’t get in their way of a good 42 game.

All of the mixed comments are very interesting!

I’m in the Nicole camp also.  Love the character, love the actress.  Always wanted her to find happiness.   She & Brady have always had that chemistry/tension between the characters.  I think she and the new Brady (i don’t know new names either) have a lot of chemistry.  He fights it – tries to be good – but can’t help his attraction.  Nicole knows this and she plays it to the hilt.  Like her or hate her at least her character has been CONSISTENT.   When she found out she was pregnant, she wanted Love so badly… and when she lost the baby we really felt her pain – and knew she was going over the deep end.

Why people love Sami for all the crap she pulls and hate Nicole for doing the same (with better justification in my opinion) I’ll never understand.

I really like Nicole too – good or bad – I love the actress and really enjoy watching her portray this character.  I wanted her to find some semblance of "happiness" with EJ.  I hated that she lost her baby and began conniving. I  believed her rationalizing taking Sydney "for EJ" (because Sami was just going to lie/hide his daughter from him).  (I didnt’ say it was "right" I said I believed her rationalizing a plausible emotion/action for the character.)  I think her stint in prison has sharpened her.   BUt then I liked Nicole when she was introduced as a waitress being "discovered" by Eric Brady to be a new model  and the development of her backstory (except for being Brandon’s sister- that was a stretch.)

Something about Arianna never clicked for me.  The actress is fine, but I never cared for the character at all.  I like Rafe, but have no connection with his two sisters.  Either I wasn’t watching often enough or the "family" didn’t really get fully developed to where I give a care.

largely because it was hilarious and quite unbelieveable.   I didn’t know the actor, but my husband walked through the room, stopped, watched for maybe thirty seconds and said, "That’s the guy from General Hospital!"

This is exactly how I was raised and the descent of language in everyday use and on television is shocking.

Because of his interactions with the adults in his life. He’s maturing.  I have not liked Mia’s character from day one.  Haven’t watched them enough to care about them.  Guess I’m finally "old" (39) now that I really don’t care about the teen SL .

I didn’t know MIke was the most recast character. I couldn’t remember Greta or Celeste’s last names.

I didn’t realize these two actors had married each other before on the other show.  I just don’t see any real chemistry between them on this show as these characters.  Brady reminds me now and then of John, but I just don’t care for Ari Hernandez character at all.  I like Rafe more now, but his two sisters could disappear and I wouldn’t miss them at all.

I just came back from vacation and have missed the last 8-10 episodes.  A fed job?  LOL.  That’s great.  My one stint with a fed job required an "FBI" check that required me to provide the address of every residence I’ve had for the last 15 years and at least one reference (not a relative) for each location.  I was 19 at the time and had to call my mom to find out where we lived when I was 4 and the name of a neighbor who knew me.

Can you imagine Sami asking for extention forms for her to be able to include every name she’s ever gone by?

Arianne should be in the category for Lead Actress and she should receive a nomination and she should WIN.   She ROCKED this year.
