This whole storyline continues to drive me nuts. When Hope came over w/Ciarra to trim the tree, it was only at her daughter’s prodding that she was going to stay? She sure isn’t thinking of her daughter, that Ciarra needs to know the security of family, to keep things as normal as possible. No, Hope decides to play the self-involved victim.
This pair continues to slide downhill and I have no clue how the producers/writers think this is the right direction.

Today at least it appeared that we may have some movement on the Hope front, planning to ferret out Carly’s secret.
But boy, I sure wanted to see Hope return home and reclaim her territory by lambasting Carly, that no matter what Bo said, she should show some respect for the Brady marriage/family and home and skiddadle on outta there! Carly does not belong in that house!

I hope the new Will has more spark to him. Don’t know if this was simply the actor’s interpretation or the way he was being directed.
He and Mia were such downers. Let’s see some life out of these teens!

What would everyone attribute the rise to? The baby switch story? How ’bout the additions of the Passions actors?

I agree, I think Maggie’s possible tumble from the wagon would be a great counterpoint to her being seen as the strong one. Show that alcoholism is a never ending battle and even being sober for years doesn’t mean a cure. Give this actress something other than interfering or “mothering” and show her as a human with temptations and faults. If written with power, this has the potential to be high drama. And I love the idea of Lucas turning the tables to help his sponsor and friend. Maggie could come out even stronger than ever and could also give some maturity to the ever adolescent Lucas.

Who does NBC send these surveys to? I recall getting a few some time ago but nothing to do with Days.

I agree that if John Clarke doesn’t return, Days is limiting themselves by continuously referring to Mickey being out of town or never on camera.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a new guy come into Mag’s life, if they can find the right one. Why not show that older folks can have romances too!

Although I like Melanie better than when she first appeared, this girl still gets on my nerves to some extent. It’s getting old with me the way she stammers to get a thought out, and I agree her reaction at the cafe was absurd and a sure bet she’s Carly’s kid.
And you can further bet Doc Dan is the dad since Chloe can’t (at the moment anyway!) have kids.

He will just be shown in flashbacks. I’d love to see him again – he’s the ONLY Mickey!

I keep going back to when Hope was ready to come home and Bo was less than enthusiastic, citing the “danger” to Hope and Ciarra. How lame was that? It’s like the writers take turns turning Bo and Hope into ridiculous juvenile characters.

I think we’re being kept in the dark as long as possible. When Carly arrived at Maggie’s and muttered something about the confrontation at the cafe it could have referred to either Mia or Melanie. Funny how Mia seemed to hit it off with Carly right away at the pier, but after that, she’s given Carly the cold shoulder. And Mel reacted exactly in her usual overt kneejerk manner.

You’ve really made some good points about these characters. Nathan is certainly right IMO for dumping Mel. (of course, who knows what today will bring?)
And yes, it’s a step forward for Mel to be honest, but to what end if she can’t even resist a kiss in public? Now this could work if we indeed see Melanie moving ahead and making an effort to mature and decide who she really wants, if either of these guys. We do have to remember she is only 18.
I would love to see Phillip with a new character more his age and match who can stand up to him. Neither Steph nor Melanie fit the bill for me.

Sydney is definitely the most interesting thing to watch on this show.

I have never liked this character. I thought maybe the writers were molding her into someone interesting when she initially displayed some integrity in her relationship w/Phil. But since then what a joke – even her so-called being straight w/Nathan on her feelings for him was all part of weaving her web. This girl certainly has fallen far from the tree of Patch and Kayla.
But the real problem here is making her such a bland character.

I agree that at times Maggie has acted more like a truant officer than family matriarch. I’d like to see more of Mickey and how their strong bond could heighten the “Tom and Alice” factor. The original actor brought this out very well.
