ParticipantI believe it was Burgess Meridith who played the role. Very good. Those were some real classics on that show. Rod Serling’s was a very brilliant mind.
I looked at the Nook but don’t feel I need color for reading books and I don’t think I’d use it for anything else. And, yes, I did know about the drop in price. I can get by with the $139 one as I have wireless network and don’t need the 3G.
I usually buy all my books used from Amazon so don’t usually spend the $9.95 they charge for new ones. That and my women’s club has a book exchange which keeps me in books from now until kingdom come. But, like you, I’m having more and more difficulty reading them. I looked at my friend’s Kindle and it’s VERY reader friendly. Plus you don’t get cramps in your fingers keeping a paperback open.
Any, thanks for your input. Hey, DeeLan, have you been asked to review an EReader yet?

ParticipantWhy can’t they do any now days? I used to LOVE The Smothers Brothers, Sonny and Cher, Carol Burnette, Donny and Marie, and all those musical/comedy/variety shows. And they were something you could let your kids watch.
I just discovered HDNetTV shows concerts on Sunday nights. I watched Michael Buble last Sunday night and, although I knew he was a very talented guy, I was never a really big fan. Boy, was I blown away!!!! That guy has charisma oozing out of his body. What a great show that was.
And then I caught Andrea Bocelli’s Christmas show on PBS too. It was also very good except I really didn’t care for the standard caroles sung in Italian. It just seemed to take something away from them. But, MAN, that guy can really sing.

ParticipantMy first born cried constantly and I just couldn’t seem to get him to quiet down. (Now I blame it a lot on being a new and inexperienced parent but a lot of it was colic also.) Anyway, my mom would shoo me out of the house every couple of days to get a break. It’s a good thing she did too or I probably would be in the nut house still.

Participant…I don’t know why they had to keep printing the pictures over and over. If it was the a fault with the printer it would not have shown up on the screen. Duh, people.
I also don’t know what a white spot in his eye would indicate but if it was so apparent in the pictures, why hasn’t anybody noticed it in person? Duh, again.

Participantwe really want to see when we tune in to a soap? I thought people watched these for escape and to see the beautiful people. (None of them are ugly either!) If we want to see them dressed realistic, we should probably watch Roseanne or Married With Children.

ParticipantI love skating too but I have NO investment in any of those "stars." In fact, I’ve only even barely heard of one of them and haven’t the slightest idea who the others are. Why would I watch when I couldn’t care less who wins or loses. Nope, I’m afraid ABC has a real loser there. And I hate that because I’ve got Disney stock. :o)
I think the networks (AND the cable channels also) have gone way overboard with this reality stuff. Yeah, I know they’re cheap to produce but they seem to come up with 50 stinkers for each hit they get. I can count on one hand the reality shows I watch and actually enjoy. Some times I’ll watch one or two of them I don’t really care for but there’s nothing else on.

ParticipantYou said Sami not learning part is the writers, not the actor. I’m just wondering what part of EJ’s horrible behavior do you attribute to James Scott and not the writers. Do you really think James is that evil?
I don’t for one minute think EJ doesn’t love his kids every bit as much as Sami. How he goes about showing it is another thing but haven’t we chastized Sami many, many times in the past for being such a bad mother? But we never questioned her love for her kids.
You mentioned Paul on Desperate Housewives. Oh yes, he’s every bit as dispicable as EJ but it looks like he’s finally gotten his just desserts…but…I would be VERY disappointed it they were to kill EJ off. I think they’ve got a very good guy in that part. If not, why would you all hate him so badly? Remember when everyone thoroughly detested Melanie? She’s not so bad now, maybe some time in the future they will turn EJ around too.

ParticipantI can’t find anything in the Annex about it. What is the heading? PLEASE!

ParticipantMy nephew lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin and has brain damage from a motorcycle accident. He has no short-term memory so has to stay pretty close to home as he lives alone. The State Police bring him roadkill they find (mostly deer) and he cleans it, prepares it, and then cooks it up for the firefighters (both city and forest) and he freezes some for the SP’s families. It keeps him busy, helps him out with his food, as he lives on disability, and also provides those guys with good meals (he’s a very good wildlife cook having grown up in Northern Michigan and doing a lot of hunting). As long as you get roadkill "dressed" within a certain amount of hours, it’s perfectly good to eat. And the SP usually get it quite fast because it normally involves a vehicle vs. animal collision.
Something else he does is catch Canadian geese and cooks them too. You won’t believe how he catches them. He has a large section of cement pipe that he closes off on one end. Then he puts food at the end, the geese go in to get it and…they can’t walk backwards to get out so, voila!, he’s got ’em.
So a roadkill chef probably does already exist in my nephew, well, did, he died last year.

ParticipantYou realize, don’t you, that the more you profess your hatred for EJ, the better TPTB like him? You say you hate the character but like the actor so why would you want him written out???
While I agree his character is unredeamable (unless they can think of something way far out there to cause him to be this way), I can’t imagine the show without him. I’m like Pammy, no matter what he does, he still holds a certain likabilty to me. (Okay, you can start throwing stones now.) I think the show would become very boring without his actions.
I can remember feeling that way about Angelica Devereaux. She made the Wicked Witch of the West look like Shirley Temple but she added so much to the show I was sad to see her leave.

Participantit seems to me it has to be something relating to EJ’s shooting otherwise why would Rafe take it to him to look at? Even if it is someone standing there with his gun in their hand though, I don’t think EJ would stop blaming Sami. He’s enjoying tortouring her way to much. Making her tell Johnny she doesn’t love him any more is about the most dispicable thing he could possibly do.

Participanttwo people could be so desperately, hopelessly, deeply, in love like Dan and Chloe professed to be and then have them break up so soon after their marriage. Especially if it’s the case of Chloe falling (again) for Philip. When you are truly in love, do you really fall out that quickly?

ParticipantYou know how Days is, they can never leave a couple alone.

Participantto have our kids at a young age. You know as we get older how we tend to forget where we put things?
