Participantthe Parker we saw yesterday was certainly an adorable baby too. Although he didn’t smile, I thought he was very cute. I just can’t believe how they come up with such good babies. I don’t think my kids stopped crying until they were two years old. (Punishment, my mom said, for what I did to her!)
As far as Sydney’s acting, I’m thinking they are just bringing her around very slowly to get her used to the sets, other actors, etc. Sure, they could get a seasoned kid to play the part but I’m they probably have reasons why they picked the one they did. (Cheaper for non-speaking parts?) I think we’ll eventually see her have some lines and have to emote a little.

ParticipantVery enjoyable. I’m looking forward to see what they will do with these two. Victor said he intended they have a "lot of fun." I hope so. I’ll be having fun right along with them. (I wouldn’t mind giving ol’ John Aniston a go-around myself! :o)

ParticipantI’m sorry, Nora, this isn’t a juicer recipe now that I remember. But it’s good anyway if you want to try it.
1 lb. carrots, 1 gal. water, 3" piece of peeled and chopped ginger, 1 1/2 c. sugar, juice of 2 or 3 limes
Cook carrots until tender. Blend in blender when cool and add sugar and lime juice. Strain and chill.
I don’t know, maybe you could also do it by juicing the raw carrots and adding the rest of the stuff. There’d probably be nutrients in it that way. As I said, it’s very sweet. I would probably cut it down to only 1 c. of sugar.

ParticipantAlso, her hairpiece was VERY apparent. Her hairdresser didn’t do as good a job as usual in disguising it. If she’s on again today, look at the top of her head and you can see where it starts.

ParticipantYes, lots of former "stars" in the audience. And has anybody else noticed the resemblance to Rafe in that radio guy (sorry, don’t remember his name)?
Ralph seems to have a good sense of humor that will help him, Romeo too. Boy, how different he is from his dad, huh? By far, the WORST contestant in the entire history of the show.
I too was very surprised at Kristie’s performance, she did quite well, but I bet we’ll see a lot of conflict between Kristie and Maks…two VERY strong personalities. Yes, it’s going to be an very interesting season.

ParticipantNow that’s a very interesting concept. I hope we get to see him there and not just have it mentioned in passing. Will we have a One Flew Over the Cuckcoo’s Nest storyline?

Participantis in Libia and Kadafy has him locked up somewhere as an insurgent, which we all know Jack could be quite capable of.

Participantabout there being better writers out there. I’m sure that anybody that’s hired does a great job in the beginning because they have fresh ideas and lots of plots and storylines in mind. But, keep in mind that soaps have been around for a long, long, time. Even before TV they were a very popular genre on the radio. That uses up just about every situation you can possibly think of. (I challenge anyone to come up with some kind of story/plot that’s never been done before.)
So, you hire some fresh new writers and they have to write for an hour, five days a week, 52 weeks a year. (That’s 260 primetime programs, year after year after year!) They’ve soon exhausted all their material and now have to wrack their brains for somethings that hasn’t been done before, or hasn’t been done on another soap, or hasn’t been dragged on for months and months. I don’t know, maybe I’m just more tolerant that the rest of you (not something I’ve ever been accused of*), but I believe that everybody is doing the best they can and anybody new they might hire would soon be in the same position. I’m sure that if Corday thought he could hire any better writers than he has now, don’t you think he’d do it?
Sorry for the rant but sometimes I think we’re just a little too hard on people who are doing a very difficult and obviously thankless job.

ParticipantI firmly believe that your attitude has a lot to do with your survival. And you’ve got all our prayers, of course.
A good friend of mine just had to return for more chemotherapy. She’s been fighting lukemia and lymphoma for over ten years now. On top of that, she also contracted melanoma and has had part of her nose removed. (It kind of looks like Michael Jackson’s and of course we tease her about that.) But she’s got the greatest attitude, never stops going and always smiling. God bless you both!
This same woman is chairman of American Cancer Society’s (the orginazation I’m painting the chairs for) Relay for Life and at our last women’s club meeting, she asked everyone who has had cancer to raise their hand. Half of the women in the room did. Pretty scary. What we did was decorate a paper bag and write a person’s name that we know who’s had cancer on it, survivor or not. Then at the relay, they make them into luminarias and line the school track with them. It’s quite impressive and very touching. You can’t help but get teary-eyed when you see all those candles burning as the people walk around the track.

ParticipantA friend from Jaimaca gave me a good one, it’s very sweet. Let me know if you want it.

ParticipantI’m just wondering what would have happened if, instead of Taylor slapping EJ, it had been the other way around and he had slapped her. Wouldn’t that have constituted physical assult? So, like Melanie attacking Dario, shouldn’t Taylor have been arrested for assult?

ParticipantYou mean the female detective is someone’s daughter? Patti, who is DH?
Bonbon
Participantthere probably would have been charges filed. But I guess they don’t consider a woman attacking a man to be serious. But remember, it IS the Salem PD.
Bonbon
ParticipantShe was certainly a willing participant so how does she justify slapping EJ?
Not that I’m anxious to see this "new" Taylor start but I’m curious to see how she will interact with EJ. As many people have commented, James could make sparks with an old hag. But I truly wish he’d stay true to Nicole. Like he said, he loved her once, maybe those same feelings can return, he has a good start because he says he does LOVE her.

Participantis an indication we may see another Hernandez in the near future.
