I’ve been meaning to mention this, but I believe it was the July 5th edition (yes, I’ve double-checked and it was) of Soap Opera Weekly’s cover story with the tag line: "LOOK WHO’S COMING BACK!", and it showed pictures of Diedra Hall, Drake Hogestyn and BRYAN DATTILO. I haven’t read anything yet confirming BD’s return as Lucas Horton, but please soap gods, make it true. What I do not want to see if it is true would be another triangle (which Ken Corday has promised in writing, will not happen in the future with the cast); instead, I would like for Lucas and Sami to remain great friends, and that he develops a good friendship with Rafe, and that all three will be involved in helping Will once he "comes out." If Bryan is the one returning, my life will be complete (at least where Days of Our Lives is concerned). In any case, Corday says "6 actors will be leaving; 6 will be returning," and so far the 5 characters confirmed to return are Marlena, John, Jack, Carrie and Austin, so now I’m hoping that this article is more fact than fiction, and that Bryan will be the 6th star returning.
I’d read in other places that Lucas was returning. Of the 6 rumored to leave I believe is now down to 5 since Quinn is staying. (Carly, Gus, Vivian, Dario and Taylor).
I would love to see BRYAN DATTILO return IF Lucas can have a really good story line and not be just a prop for Sami or Kate. I am looking forward to an independent, mature, business man who is no longer tied to his mother’s apron strings.

to me if he departs with Vivian. I’d like for Ivan and Gus to fight over their Madam (i.e., Vivy) before they leave…it would be nice if they all skipped down the yellow-brick road together into the Salem sunset.
what is it about that man that is so strange? He has kind of a babyish face but I don’t know if that’s it. He’s just so weird. Could he be gay and a tad flamboyant? I don’t know, I can’t put my finger on it but I don’t (and never have) cared much for him. I liked Ivan MUCH better as Viv’s sidekick.
the DiMera mansion when they were trying to get the goods on what Stefano was hiding, Vivian plainly suggested Gus was gay. If you recall, when he said he was hiding in Kate’s closet, Vivian asked him if he tried anything on, or if he found anything he liked. LMAO. I had always suspected he was gay, but then I remembered that when he left his madam after he refused to put Maggie in the sarcophagus, they showed him in bed with a woman. I agree, he is strange though, and I find it funny that no mention of him has been made about exiting with Vivian, and we already know that Ivan will return for her exit. I wouldn’t think they would have any plans to keep Gus after her departure, but I have not read anything about his.
I’ll be glad to see Lucas again as long as he’s not in a triangle with Sami and Rafe. I am tired of that triangle garbage.
I was a Lumi fan until Rafe. I am now converted. I love Lucas but Sami is much better off with Rafe. He brings out what little maturity she has.
put him at odds with Sami again or heaven forbid! in a triangle with Sami/Rafe (as the show is wont-to-do sometimes). I hope Lucas doesn’t become another "Roman" doomed to live without true love, but I also wish that he’d find "true soap love", I don’t see anyone currently in Salem now for him though, so that’s why I’m afraid the writers may have Sami drift in his direction for old times sake. Or maybe Carrie and Lucas?
if, in fact, he is the 6th returnee. Remember, this is just rumored; nothing has been confirmed by the show, NBC or SONY at this point in time. I like it much better when Sami and Lucas are friends, though. When he left for China, or wherever on God’s green earth he is, that’s exactly how he and Sami left things, and I would hope it stays that way, if Bryan is the 6th return. His picture was on the SOW cover next to Drake and Dee; however, the article itself called it "rumored" and so nothing is definite yet. I just can’t imagine the direction of this Will/Sonny storyline without Lucas being there for his son.
if the Lucas character returns (played by Bryan), I for sure want the writers to reunite him with Sami! If I can’t get my SamEJ, I want my Lumi!
triangle, I could get behind Sami and Lucas paring. They belong together – I mean he was there all the way back with her, through Austin, Franco, Kate, etc., he knows her and knows why Sami is like she is.
Totally! Do you remember the time when Sami was unable to talk, and her and Lucas started having "true love" feelings for each other, and then FINALLY, they admitted their love for each other?! That was sooo hot! But the writers found a way to destroy ’em, with the whole Carrie and Austin stuff. smh.
