I just watched Monday night’s Grimm episode.  It looked like Nick’s Mom was hiding behind a tree when the Captain came out of the Hexenbiest’s house.  But she never mentioned this to Nick.  She probably had never seen or met the captain, but it seems like she overlooked telling Nick about a man coming out of the house and describing him because she did say something about royalty  being in the U.S.  [I guess it’s too early in the season to solve the mystery of the Captain.] Also, didn’t Hank see Nick pull his gun at the warehouse?  And did Nick throw his gun in the water?  Where did he get a new gun because the Feds said the ballistics didn’t match.  If that was department issued, wouldn’t there be a problem?  Sometimes I wish I had a larger TV screen because I don’t always see all the details!

Yes, Nick threw the gun in the water.

At the end I switched my thinking on Nick’s mom not being who she says she is.  When he dropped her off at the bus station and she doubled back after he drove off.  Don’t know who she’s working for but it seems to be she wanted the coins so maybe it’s the Captain who was outed as a Prince and when he was talking to that prince who spoke French, they referred to each other as brother.

So many twists and turns this season and it’s only the 2nd episode in.

the police captain, Sean Renard, is the brother of the true prince, Eric Renard.  Captain Renard is the first revealed hybrid; he is the bastard son of a human royal father and a hexenbiest mother.

If you want to read more about the Captain, which is fascinating to say the least, see:

about Captain Renard.  Sometimes I think he’s very attractive and sexy and other’s I wonder what I was thinking.  I’m wondering also how long that potient he took to make him "pure" is going to last.  That would be a twist to see him become a total "good guy."

And too bad Adelaine’s mother (Chad’s mother on Days) got killed.  Although I don’t think she’s a terribly good actor, I liked her on the show.

or that she is not looking out for Nick but has her own agenda?  I think she’s his mom.  She knows too much about the trailer.  She knows where to look for informatiom (books, etc.) in the trailer.  That being said, she really is a "grim" looking person!  I had to laugh at Rosalee’s comment "I think it was a smile."

that I didn’t think she was really his mom, but, like you, she just knew too much stuff about the trailer and what was in it.  I don’t know, maybe she isn’t and they’ll come up with some kind of explanation as to why she knew.  (Or, like Days, they won’t even address it.)

I agree about her looking rather "rough."  I thought at first the actor (can’t remember her name right now…what’s new?) really hasn’t aged very well but then in later scenes she looked much better.  I’m kind of thinking they gave her that look on purpose.

Here’s something I don’t understand about this show.  Does Nick see the "monsters" as monsters as soon as he looks at them or does he have to wait until they change?  And, why do they change just because he’s looking at them?  His buddy (dang, can’t remember HIS name either, this CRS is KILLING me!) seems to change at will or when he’s angry.  Do the others "change" because they recognize Nick as a Grimm?  Or is this something they’ve never explained?  Very confusing.

And somebody said they didn’t think the Captain WAS a "monster" but it’s pretty apparent after this last episode he is one but been successful at hiding it.

LOVE this show.  And, it’s funny, my DIL (who hates violence, murder, anything gruesome, and stuff like that) also loves it.

At first I was positive she was his mom but after the ending of this last episode I’m not sure.  If she is his mother she’s got a plan other than destroying the coins that’s for sure.

I always thought the captain was a monster or creature but was able to control his transformation similar to Monroe.   What was it Adalind’s mother called him?  Something about being close to human.  See Bonbon, you’re not the only one with CRS.  That was when I realized he was a half breed so maybe that’s why he’s able to control it or he doesn’t change like that half of his family does.
