I am beginning to think Sami sufferes from PTSD. That is the only thing that can explain her behavior.
Things that have happened to her that have to have long lasting effects.
1. Raped by Allen
2. Saw her mom and John in the act
3. Mom and dad presumed dead too many times to list
4. Raped by EJ
5. Harassed by Kate
6. Nearly executed–Kate’s fault
7. Not being with her parents….grandparents instead.
You forgot to mention
- Had to consent to having sex with EJ in order to save Lucas’ life (I still call it rape)
- Had a mother possessed by the devil
- Had her husband replaced by a psychoic maniac (raped again by this guy)
- Thinking her baby died then found out it wasn’t hers but that her baby was stolen at birth and then when she finally gets her she gets kidnapped then presumed dead
- Her son is missing and news reports say he’s dead
Those last 2 are enough to make any normal person go off the deep end
One where she has a breakdown, goes to a mental hospital…preferrably onscreen for a couple months. Sami is dead, she’s gone… can’t see a way to repair her now. Not worth watching her… ship her off the screen. Would do us all some good.
I will agree; however, that Sami has been destroyed. How did she die????? She was finally killed by the "pen." The character is tired, old, misunderstood, and needs a complete make-over; but, if the truth be told, Sami Brady will never change, nor will she ever go away, unless or until Alison Sweeney wants her to go away. For as much as Samantha Brady is, and yes, I’ll say it loud and clear, HATED by the majority of fans who like to voice their point of view on message boards (and there are a lot of them out there, but they do not make a bleep on the map of the general audience itself), Ali Sweeney is loved by the show’s powers that be; not only by Ken Corday, but by Tomlin, Whitesell, and writers in general. She’s an icon, and writers like to take on the task of writing for an icon. Then, you throw in NBC and SONY, and I can tell you as sure as I’m sitting here typing this opinion, that they just might give her a make-over by November sweeps, but you can bet your sweet bippy, it will only be one that Alison Sweeney wants to see for Sami Brady. Personally, I would love to have Ali Sweeney take a page out of the one and only Miss Mae West’s book and decide that whenever she finds herself between two evils, she always takes the one she never tried. It’s time for a change. Just hope she doesn’t lose her spunk doing it.
I sure was hoping that EJ dropped Sami there at the end. Here’s hoping. (Though I do like the white blouse and pink jacket!)
And good heavens, could Nicole be more whiny, pushy and clingy? Leave the man alone… he wants to help search for his daughter! It’s a bit hard to do when one has a flippin’ needy parasite attached to one’s side.
Victor and Maggie look great; Bo and Hope look great; Marlena and John look great. Is that a grey streak in Marlena’s hair? Wow, she still looks great. I feel so bad for Abe. Not a big fan of Madison’s but I absolutely LOVE her dress.
Kate even looked good tonight despite the bazaar thing in her hair.
I must confess that it has been ages since I watched the show. Y’all have much more patience and stamina than I. I gather from 1 or 2 threads that there is supposed to be new writers?
