EXCLUSIVE! Eileen Davidson OFF DAYS
By SOD • Posted: Jul 30, 2013Eileen Davidson, who made a triumphant return as Kristen DiMera in 2012 after a 14-year absence, wrapped up her DAYS stint on July 16. Because DAYS tapes so far in advance, she will air through the remainder of the year. “The Kristen story wrap-up is just fantastic; she was just glorious,” raves Executive Producer Ken Corday. “The official word there is that Eileen Davidson is leaving the show to take some time out with her family. Will she come back? We’ll see. But she’s not going to another show. I am thankful for all she’s brought to us. It was the first shot in the arm we needed. Back to me …. I hope this isn’t one of SOD’s misleading headlines. They have been known to not always print the truth (i.e., Drake Hogestyn back taping on DOOL when he was definitely NOT and has not as yet been summoned to return.)
it’s all over social media and on ED’s Twitter account, thanking fans and saying it was her idea to leave and no one else’s. So, good luck Eileen. This fan will miss you.
see Eileen leave because I think she’s great, but I am glad there is a definite end to the storyline in sight and it won’t go on and on forever.
You will be missed… BUT at least we know this won’t end in a baby storyline and/or her being with anyone long term. I’m glad she chose to leave. When she left back in the late 90s/early 2000s I felt they really wrote her into a corner and I didn’t like the exit of her OR Susan… But i rather her leave gracefully then repeat her exit in Salem.
definitely sparked a Days rebirth, how much more can she do; how much more revenge? I for one will be satisfied with her wonderful stint and ready to see her go.
to see her leave. They could give her another story after the revenge one ends, they have accomodated many stories for other charaters for years and years. Certainly they could do so for Eileen.
I’m just afraid they did to her what they did last time and worked her to death…she has certainly had her share of screen time this go-round.
I will miss her immensely. I really wonder why someone would leave a business that, at this time, would be so difficult to get another job in unless they were utterly worn out or very unhappy theree. I guess we’ll never know..
that Eileen Davidson was leaving(hoorah). But then I read where she would be on DOOL until the end of the year. And nowI will still have to endure her evil and wicked ways. Dad Gum!! At least maybe Brady will get his brain back and kick her out of his life. She has been more than I could tolerate especially since she was on day, after day.
I would love to have her stay on as she is an awesome actress, but I certainly understand her wanting family time. As long as they leave the door open for her to come back.
Yes, she is a really good actress, but this storyline is also beginning to drive me up a wall, and I only watch once a week, if that. It’s ridiculous that someone could hold a grudge for so long and be that evil about it. We have some things going on in our lives currently that have left me quite angry and upset and my husband tells me, let it go, that’s the way it’s going to be. My reply is "I understand that, just let me rant for a few days to get it out of my system, and then I’ll move on." I never understand the need for soap opera characters to go after a man (or woman) who clearly is in love with someone else (e.g. John/Marlena). And why she thinks Brady would take her back after all the plotting and ridiculous antics? But of course, they have to at least try to make us think they are going down that road again. Silly me, it’s a soap. Sami took back EJ. So why shouldn’t Kristen get Brady back? I guess I answered my own question!
What kind of a storyline can follow seducing a priest because you hate a person so much you want them to suffer? Maybe seducing a man so you can get revenge on an ex lover who chose another woman over you. Maybe lying about it so you can get back with your seduced lover while you continue plotting against Marlena.
I don’t really see what else she can do–talk about being painted into a corner!!! But then again they did reunite Sami and EJ after everything he did to her!!!
I really think it is time for her to go.
It’s good to have someone who is of the same opinion and is as TIRED of Kristin as I am watching her revenge plot. I really think she is totally crazy.
The SOD interview w/ Corday was very enlightening! I must’ve missed the part about Eileen leaving, but I’ll shed no tears…I’ve always hated her characters (not the actress)…she’s too over the top no matter who she’s playing. I was please to read the "kids" (Chandler & Camila) would be on into the new year, but distressed to hear Drake is OFF contract and there are no plans to bring John back – he’s not taping, he’s not part of the cast – zip, nada, nothing. Looks like they finally have some plans for Hope, which is a good sign.
