Soap Opera Digest is reporting that “DOOL” vet Peter Reckell (Bo) has been telling his castmates that he is leaving the series. “We hope that Peter stays with ‘Days Of Our Lives,’” a spokesperson said in response to these reports. No official statement has been made about the status of the actor’s contract and what his future might hold.

* Kirsten Storms returns as Belle Black Brady with Claire after Shawn (Jason Gerhardt) is injured in a boating accident and comatose.
* Farah Fath returns as Mimi Lockhart to work at CW. She also gets close to an ex-love.
* John Paul Lavoisier arrives as Rex Brady after spending time in the ISA. He joins Salem PD.
* Jay Kenneth Johnson returns as Philip Kiriakis to visit Shawn and Belle in a few episodes.
* Alexis Thorpe (Cassie) and Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) may return.
Sounds like my show is being cancelled and they’re bringing everyone back for on last hoorah. I would love to see thes characters back, but part of me thinks this is wishful thinking. As for Peter Reckell, I hope he’s not leaving. He has been and always will be Bo to me, so I won’t accept anyone else in that role and I surely don’t want his character killed off.
I thought they were cutting cast again so why bring on these characters that have been gone for some time. I would miss Bo but I guess sometimes they just get tired of not having good story lines.
is that what will he do if he does leave the show? I don’t think he’s old/rich enough to retire permanently and the track record for soap stars making it in movies or primetime isn’t that great. That makes me doubt this rumor very much. Even if he should get a staring roll (doubtful) in a movie, that wouldn’t be enough to quit Days completely. And, quite frankly, I can’t see Peter in a staring roll…even on a TV series. Sorry but I don’t.
As for not having good story lines… I don’t think the actors care that much what their characters do as long as they have lines to say when they come to work every day. Of course, it would have to be something they can sink their teeth into and show their chops. I imagine saying the same lines over and over all the time would get pretty hard to keep fresh, but still, it’s a paycheck every week.
Can’t remember him at all. I hope Chloe & Dan get back together. And it should be interesting if Farah & Kiersten are still feuding to have them back.
I’m not sure that I can handle Days without Bo again. I’m with mommytutu on this one. It seems odd that they are cutting some characters and bringing back old ones….guess they want to shake things up, as these characters/sorylines are stagnant. I’ll do some serious thinking about watching if Bo is gone.
Excited about Belle coming back, but I want Shawn too. Guess I can’t win them all.
Wasn’t Rex one of the "aliens" who were Marlena’s kids? Or did I dream that up? Seems like there was a girl–twins? Speaking of twins, they don’t do well on Days. Poor Eric Brady.
Rex was one of the space ship twins (his sister is Cassie) that was involved with Mimi. The actor (Eric Winter) has been on some nighttime tv shows and was a regular on Castle till he got killed.
You don’t remember Rex and Cassie? The ailen babie who arrived in a spaceship? lol. I forget who’s kids they belonged to, either marlena or Kate. Rex dated oh crap her name is right there on the tip of my tounge and I cant remember her name! she was Belles best friend. Cassie I don’t remember a whole lot about her but she went upstairs at the pub and never came back down. Lol
however, let’s keep the couple-swapping out of it and just have some corporate espionage and intrigue for a change. I’ve had my fill of the bed hopping. Also, isn’t John Paul Fara Fath’s boyfriend in real life?
wonder if she ever got him to marry her (LOL). Since Mimi (FF) was also involved with Rex Brady on DOOL before she left, this might just be perfect casting. Funny that John Paul’s name on OLTL was "Rex" (Balsam), too. Makes it pretty obvious to me that, if this rumor does happen, they could not have chosen a better actor to replace Eric Winters as Rex, although I was hoping at one time that they would bring John Paul to DOOL as "Eric" Brady, but I’ll take him as Rex, since he has worked with FF on OLTL, as well as her RL fiance. Just hope they don’t bring his real life mother on at any point in time. Those who watched Dirty Soaps will remember, he was a real mama’s boy! LOL!
Rex and Cassie were found by Belle and Shaun in that space ship and for some reason they became known as The Gemini Twins. Stefano had something to do with them and their bio parents are Kate and Roman but Marlena was the surrogate who gave birth to them. I think that was one of JER’s stories.
Rex was in college and involved with Mimi. She became pregnant and didn’t think he wanted kids so she had it aborted. When he found out he dumped her and left Salem.
I don’t think Cassie ever had much of a storyline.
I kind of skipped over John Paul’s name. I hope they don’t cast him as I couldn’t help thinking of him as he was on Dirty Soaps. He was an idiot, a mama’s boy and a totally unlikeable person. I can’t picture him as Rex. Anybody that insists on wearing pajama bottoms out in public all the time must be missing a few cranium cells.
I never really "got" Mimi and Rex in the first place. If they’re going to bring back someone of that age group I’d rather see Eric return. He is much more integral to the family than Rex. (Personally, I think they should treat Rex and Cassie like they never happened.) Besides, if Rex comes back they will have to address the fact that Cassie is still upstairs in the pub.
I think Eric would be a great addition. He’s not only Sami’s twin and might be able to help rein her in but Marlena and Roman’s son. If they’re looking for romance they could pair him up with Nicole since they did love each other once upon a time and if I remember he left Salem due to her dumping hiim.
