The other soaps being the ones that are going off the air. I have asked some of mine if they would tune into Days and see if they might switch to it. The response has been no, I think I’ll just do something else. They apparently have looked for reasons to stop watching their old soap, but were too addicted to quit. Now they have a good reason. I’m just wondering if this is typical of what others are finding, or maybe my friends are just different.

I know if Days went off I wouldn’t want to switch to another show.  I stick with Days because I’ve gotten to know the characters like family and I watched most of them grow up, heck, I was evern there when some were born.

are coming back in September.  Goes to show, at least Corday is headed in the right direction.  Now, let’s hope the writing does the same.

DOOL in 20 years of dedicated watching (rabid fan), however, this past spring, after Nicole’s and EJ’s wedding and the constant repeat of the scene of EJ and Taylor googly eyeing each other, the SL hints about Will and Sami’s endless rants –  I just had enough, I couldn’t take anymore.  I keep up with the show here, and with friends who are rabid fans too.  I look at the cable guide to see the paragraph of the current days espisode. Once or twice I peeked at the show for two or three minutes at a time this past summer.  I am excited, (very excited) about J&M and the other "oldies" returning this fall…and will tune in…please Mr. Corday don’t disappoint or I’m permanently gone forever.

I ws already watching DOOL when Another World went off the air. However, I did tune into As the World Turns when Jake McKenna went there after AW went off the air. I watched ATWT while Jake and Vicky were on but quit arter they left. I never watched any other networks soaps. For now DOOL is enough.

A new post on August 12th’s Dayscafe.com Spoilers Talk of the Day says:

"Viv soon flies out of town on her broomstick (not literally) but that won’t stop Salem from having "an exciting traditional Halloween come October……no more ignoring the holidays."

Now that one got me excited.  To think we’ll get our traditional holiday celebrations back is another plus that has me excited for better Days ahead.

Thank you for bringing to our attention!  ‘Bout time they (show) at least, even if they, just acknowledged in some small way our major American holidays.

I’d even like for them (the show) to mention 9/11 in reverence.   Bo being PD, could say something in rememberance (as Salem doesn’t have any fire fighters).  I know the new stuff doesn’t happen until later in September, but the show knows just like every other American does that this is the tenth anniversary, and they could have done one small thing for even just a few seconds.  Light a candle in the church or even the pier throw flowers in the river, salute the flag, have a moment of prayer and silence – this would at least address this anniversary.
