In seeing the conversation that Chad had with Abe at DaWedding, I honestly hope that Chad turns out more like Lexie instead of EJ – that is, if Stefano will let him. I think though that we will have to go through a "growing up" phase first for him, seeing him try on a few different phases.
I haven’t seen or watched all of his kids but Tony had his father’s moments as a spawn, as does of course EJ. Renee, Benji, and Megan were before my twenty years of watching Days with the exception of Benji getting killed in that one little segment a few years ago.
It would be nice for two of his "known" children (heck, who knows what other’s will come out of the woodwork in the future), would turn out to be decent people – especially given that they weren’t raised by la famiglia genitore il male (the family’s evil parent), i.e., Stefano.
I think that’s what Lexie and Benji had going for them. They weren’t raised by Stefano. Renee was the daughter of Lee Dumonde. Lee came to Salem after her boyfriend who was Doug’s brother died and he left his fortune to Doug. Lee wanted to get her hands on the money so she went after and married Doug. She was a witch and when Doug wanted to divorce her and go back to Julie, Lee tried to have Julie killed. So, Renee had a bit of her mother in her and if she would have lived probably would have fit in well with Stefano, EJ and Kate.
So I’m hoping that Chad being raised away from Stefano will have more of an influence on him and he’ll be more like Lexie and Benji and not at all like his father.
I think he’s going to follow in Stefano and EJ’s footsteps. He’s already shown us a bit of his dark side on a couple of occasions.
wasn’t exactly raised with Dad of the Year in the DA. Due to the alienation there, plus the cold fish his mom was, I’m expecting Chad will venture onto the dark side for awhile, under the lure of finally having an attentive family.
part of him remembers his mother’s warnings and how hard she fought to hide him from Stefano DiMera. He loved his mother and for his entire life, she was all he had to count on for a return of that love. His step-father (D.A. Woods) didn’t want anything to do with him, and he was shipped off to boarding school causing him to lose not only Mia, but their child. Now that he fully realizes what kind of family he truly comes from, the power, the money, the mere fact that being a DiMera gives him privileges far beyond what he could ever imagine having, all of these things will give him cause to sit back and observe for at least a while which side of the fence he will wish to be on. The fear his mom expressed alone in him even being around Will because he was living in Stefano’s home, and now his friendship with Will, will give him cause to pay more attention, I believe. As for his relationship with E.J., I think they will become close at some point. Personally, I hope he will bond with E.J., not in doing the wrong thing, but perhaps in sort of ganging up on Stefano when the time is right to do so. So far E.J. has been helpless against Stefano’s demands; now, perhaps, he will have some help in overthrowing the Phoenix. I’d like to think so anyway.
