To me most of these kids just get better and better every week.  As for last night’s show, I loved it and have these comments (and these are just my opinions):

    Naima:  I like her, but the judges were right, she’s very pitchy.  She has a unique voice, but she can’t control it.  I think she’ll be in the bottom 3 tonight;

Paul:  Get him off and get him off quick.  He looks like a little chicken running around on stage, after his head’s been cut off.  FYI, Paul, skinny jeans on guys just look ridiculous.  Good song choice for his voice, but he didn’t bring it.  Elton John would have been laughing his ass off.  Hopefully, he’ll be eliminated tonight.

Thia:  Too safe with her songs.  Love ‘Colors of the Wind’ but this gal really needs to belt one out of the park if she has any chance of going to finals.

James:  One of my favorites.  He did Bon Jovi proud with "I’ll Be There For You."  His expressions due to his Tourettes do not distract from his talent in any way.  Love him.

Haley:  I like her when she picks the right song, but when she doesn’t, like last night, she just can’t keep up.  Pretty girl, though.  Loved her rendition of "Blue" the week before.  Last night, not so much.  She should never do Whitney Houston.

Stefano:  Great – "If You Don’t Know Me" perfect for him.  Expect him to go far.  What a cutie.  Judges love him, especially J-Lo, as much as the audience does.

Pia:  Now this girl can do Whitney Houston.  She’s just a natural, and she is warming up to the stage a little more.  Down the road I still think she’ll be the one to beat.

Scotty:  Another favorite – he’s so darn cute, but this young man can sing country.  He sure does stay true to his roots.  Nobody’s gonna take the country out of this boy.  Loved the song; loved him.

Karen:  Good but sings out of her range.  She did a good job with "Love Will Lead You Back" though.  J-Lo is such a great critic; she always tells these kids the truth.

Casey:  Big disappointment for me last night, and I don’t know how many of these young voters will appreciate Nervana.  He may have hurt hisself last night.  I hope not because he’s so good but he took a big risk with that song, IMO.

Lauren:  I can’t see her winning, but she’ll wind up like Kelly Pickler.  But, in her defense, I have to say to Paul:  ‘now this is how you sing with the flu.’

Jacob:  Loved him at first, but I’m losing interest.  Falling into that realm of ‘everything sounding the same’ for me.

Randy’s words ring true, though, for me anyway; we do have a competition.  Who’s going home tonight?  Paul, I hope.

Both E.M. and  M.B. have stated in interviews that they are, or will be, "testing the waters," so to speak with Brady and Melanie.  Both actors are pleased about it.  Well, glad they are, cause I’m not.  All of this is because this writer and KC and everyone in a position of authority loves Molly Burton to death, so they’ll try her with the whole cast before cutting her lose.  Personally, I like her a little more feisty, but it’s just those damn facial expressions that disgust me.  If they are going to keep this character, they should sit the actress in front of a mirror with a voice coach and show her what she looks like when she scrunches her face up like she does.  She’s a pretty girl, but her appearance is ruined for me by those nasty "all tooth" grins and squinted eyes/nose she makes with her face, and when you speak, SPEAK, damn it, in a regular young woman’s voice without me expecting someone to hand you a rattle and a binky, and please stop pointing that finger when you do.  MB rant over, done with, gone ….. for now!

her strength returning to her from the shock of Dario attempting to rob her, or this girl is one fast healer.  The day before she was practically bent in half, talking to mommy and daddy in her dolly voice, and today she’s restraining a guy a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier than her, determined to take him down.  What a joke on both the writer(s) and the actress.  I literally had to get up and walk out of the room.

once he begins to either think about what the key means, or maybe begins to have some sort of visions of people or objects he clearly does not remember, but questions why they mean something to him.  Probably, at some point, he will wander into a place where he will be recognized ….. there are lots of ways his memories could begin to surface.  Maybe the "KIDS-R-US" brain scan machine was defective or something along those lines.  Something will happen to set off a trigger in his brain, and his memories will come flooding back; but, I think that total recall might take a while, but eventually all of his memories will slowly return.  Maybe he’ll see a cop or something or someone in law enforcement that will set off a memory of his being a detective/FBI agent, or something along those lines.  I know I’m just speculating, but what bothers me the most is that however this winds up, the one important memory that I will bet now will not return is who did this to him, when and why, and so the slime-ball DiMeras will once again slither back into their pond scum, undetected, unpunished, and free to plan their next evil deed.  That’s my theory, anyway.

singing that same Diana Ross song.  She even asked the audience to "listen to the words."  Well, unfortunately, she sounded worse than when she sang it on AI.  Her pitch was off, and her voice cracked a couple of times when she attempted to hit the high notes.  I don’t know why she keeps doing this to herself.  PICK A NEW SONG!  She did say that some things have already "opened up" for her already, but if she keeps trying to sing songs that her voice is not equipped to sing, she’s going to bury herself before she even gets started.  Sorry, but she sounded really bad this morning.

about Ariana’s death.  Looks like all he came for was to steal jewelry to pawn to pay off someone for something.  Too soon to tell if he’s really as bad as they’re setting him up to be.  I mean to steal from your own sister and then pawn the merchandise was pretty damn low of him.  I don’t know why, but the actor reminds me of a young Austin Peck.

but I have to say I would have reacted the same way if I heard someone, especially his father, telling a child to "punch out a 4-year old."  Admittedly, children can be cruel, but in this respect I have to agree with Sami telling Rafe off.  It’s bad enough Johnny is a DiMera to begin with, and I think Sami was thinking more along those lines than anything else.  She doesn’t want him to grow up like his father and/or grandfather, and I can’t fault her for that.  As for Sami, herself, she has always been impulsive and dramatic in her dealings with anger issues, resorting to violent outbursts and cat fights.  She is a good one to talk, but I know I have heard her say on more than one occasion that she was immature and needed to grow up herself, so it’s not like she needs to be so morally judgmental, but this is her child we’re talking about, so I have to cut her some slack there.  Plus, I think it probably has a lot to do with the frustrations she’s having with not accepting Rafe’s complete and sudden opposite behavior with her kids.   She knows Rafe would never tell Johnny to do something like R2 did today.

but I must say, she just did not do well as PM.  However, Starr Jones and Dionne Warwick were really petty about insisting their names should be on the cover as writer and creator, respectively.  Geesh, well smell you two.  Disgusting behavior for those two.  Lisa was too indecisive when it came to shutting those two up.  To me, a PM is only successful when they can control the job as well as those who perform it.  She should have immediately sat down with everyone and said, okay, here’s the plan….. ‘you will do this, this and this, and you will do that, that and that, and not go around and around with big mouths like Starr Jones (who was the same way when she was on The View …. that’s why she couldn’t make it there either).  Dionne Warwick, I must admit, shocked me the way she acted, but she was a little more respectful of Lisa’s ideas than Starr Jones, who won’t let anybody do their job without insisting what they’re doing is wrong and only SHE knows how to do it right.  I wish Lisa would have stuck with the plan by Marlee.  They could have made it funny as well as educational, but she caved to Dionne and from there it was all down-hill for her.  She committed project manager suicide right from the start.  JMO.

she always amuses me with her intellectual description of people she hates (like Maggie is described by her as a ‘frumpy little housewife’).  But I’ve been wanting to see her and Kate in a "battle of the bitches" as it were for a long time, now; so, I’m interested to see what she has planned to try and get Stefano on her side.  No doubt, if they have the intention to bring back Nicholas Alamain, nothing would please Viv more than to expose her romp with him way back when, and perhaps her short-lived affair with E.J., if she indeed knows about that one, as well as Daniel.  Whatever it is, I’m sure Vivian will be doing lots of airing of Kate’s dirty laundry, so I’m kinda’ looking forward to these two going head-to-head.

is how they’ve suddenly ‘dumbed-down’ Nicole to the point where she can’t or won’t see what’s in front of her face.  E.J. is supposed to be in awe of Taylor, and vice-versa, and Nicole has walked in on them so many times now asking ‘what’s going on here’ and she still believes they DON’T like each other.  Please ….. the real Nicole would have put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4 at the wedding, for God’s sake.  I find the whole thing nauseating that whoever is responsible for this story line expects people to buy it.  NL may be a beautiful girl, but her acting leaves something to be desired.  I swear, I think the girl needs oxygen or something.  And JS has been reduced to some love-struck puppy every time he’s in her presence, while he pretends to be in love with his wife.  "Good Grief, Charlie Brown", give me a break already.

and, I have to disagree just a little bit about Russell.  Sure he was arrogant and nasty, that was his downfall, but he did know how to play the game.  He just didn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.  To me, Boston Rob is just as dangerous, if not more-so, than Russell.  Only difference is he’s a "pretty boy" and the women get all flustered over him.  Hell, except for Kristina, he can talk those stupid girls into doing just about anything he wants.  That’s why he was so determined to take out Kristina, because he couldn’t work her like he could the rest.  I think Matt was a threat to him, and I also think he was a little jealous of Matt.  I mean, c’mon, he can’t have anybody in camp better looking than him.  His team is weak and he knows it, so he’ll be around for the merge, probably, and then everyone will see just how devious he can be, too.  Personally, I think Matt’s in the best position to take it all if he can keep defeating his opponents while he’s on Redemption Island, and he’s young enough and strong enough to do it, and seems like a pretty good kid.  I like him.

we have enough as it is with the faux Rafe story line.  I certainly don’t need to see Tony DiMera return as a vampire (I’m sure he was kidding).  There are enough bloodsuckers converged around the writers’ table anyway.  No more return from the dead characters, either, IMHO.  The show has become enough of a laughing stock as it’s being written right now.

He did a short-term role several months ago on Y&R in the storyline where they first introduced Meggie, and was foolish enough to try and take out Victor Newman, and, as all Y&R fans know, you never get over on TGVN.  LOL
