so far this entire season has been amazing, from the talent to the production of the show.  I loved and certainly did not expect to see Stevie Wonder appear and pay tribute to Steven Tyler’s birthday.  His daughter, Liv Tyler, was in the audience the night before the results show, and boy, does she look like her dad or what?  I don’t care what people think Steven Tyler looks like — to me he’s a star and I just love him.  He looked like he was genuinely surprised, too, with the birthday tribute.  JayLo looks more gorgeous from week to week, and again last night she was amazing, but she’s not the only hot number in that household.  Her husband is so damn sexy, I think if he got close to you, you would feel the heat — that’s how hot I think he is.  He’s not that gorgeous, model face you see out there every day, but the man exudes sex appeal.  Randy looks like he’s having the most fun ever since he’s working with these two judges, and I compliment him each week for keeping it real with these kids.  Now, talk about a shocker — I expected Thia to be in the bottom 3, but like last week with Naima, I did not expect her to be the first one called safe.  Matter of fact, I expected that would be Casey back to the couch first.  Boy, what a surprise when Ryan sent Thia back.  Then I thought to myself, awwww, Stefano looked like he was going to cry when Casey was announced to have gotten the least amount of votes.  I almost fell off my chair.  Casey is so talented, and I must say his singing is probably the least of those talents.  He’s an accomplished musician, and does anyone realize how hard it is to mix jazz/scatting with rock or Moetown or any other genre, and adding your own music at times?  Very, very difficult.  You have to have a lot of control and imagination to know just where everything goes, and Casey has it in spades.  All in all, I was jumping with joy, applauding and yelling like an overwhelmed idiot when they stopped him in mid-stream and said they knew who he was, what he sounded like and did not need to hear anymore — he was staying.  WHAT A CLASS ACT.

don’t even know why they did it.  Save the cake/cat fights for Sami and Nicole and/or Sami and Carrie.  It was like Lauren and Louise were both determined not to break a nail, and the whole thing was over and done with in less than 2 minutes.  I wanted to see Kate push her face in the cake, and both of them rolling on the floor, but I guess they are far too along in years to have that kind of display of aggressiveness in their lives.  Too bad, they both had it coming, but I was not thrilled with this at all.  The best part about it was Vivian’s lines:  "what’s the matter, haven’t you ever seen a woman with cake on her face?" followed by: "well, I CAN have my cake and eat it, too."  So, ladies, leave the physical aggressiveness to Sami and Nicole, and stick with ‘death by poisoned brownies’ or have your man-servant do it, or something where neither of you will get your hands dirty.  I did have to laugh a little when my imagination ran away with me when I thought of how they were both going to look walking outside on the street covered in cake and icing.

not because of Shelly, because she is good at what she does, no matter how bad the writing is for her.  But I wish it had been Molly Burnett instead.  I can’t stand the character of Stephanie, but not because of the actress, who is probably one of the best actors on this show.  I despise how the daughter of Steve and Kayla Johnson was diminished to a whining, dependent, lying, manipulative, man-hopper.  This is just sinful that Patch and Kayla’s daughter was portrayed that way, and I’m glad for Shelly to decide to move on.  It wasn’t doing her any good whatsoever to stay, because she has sort of been stereo-typed to be this way now, and once these writers get it in their heads the way they insist a character (especially a character with history) be portrayed, neither hell nor high water is going to change their minds.  God knows, look what they’ve insisted on doing with Sami Brady over the years.  I find Sami somewhat refreshing this year, but most fans still refer to her in the darkest of her time, and insist she will never change.  To me, this doesn’t distinguish a character; it betrays the actor.  They’re painted into a corner they cannot get themselves out of until the paint is dry enough for them to walk on (or their contract is up, whichever happens first) — then they can get out, and that’s when it becomes their decision and not the powers that be if they decide to continue.  Shelly got another job before she was even gone from the show, so I say congratulations on showing KC and others that you are strong enough, and good enough, and wise enough, to know when enough was enough.

already realized their mistake, but it’s too late to do anything about it, since they’re so far ahead in taping.  It’s making the good actors look bad, and the mediocre actors look dreadfully worse, and the whole thing has portrayed the writers, executive director, producers AND actors as just another case of bad judgment, and this is the kind of thing that hurts these shows.  There are rumors galore on other boards that AMC is getting ready to be canceled this year for the very same thing, and if Days of Our Lives doesn’t take a step back and realize that their ratings are not where a network expects them to be, they are shooting themselves in the foot every time they insist on doing a story line like this with extremely popular actor(s) like JS and AZ, and then expecting their fans to sit back and accept it.  No writer is worth that, especially to the EP and his staff.  James Scott and Ari Zucker might be putting on a happy face at fan events, but I’d be willing to bet anyone that when they speak among themselves, they’re not happy campers either.  The writing is on the wall, and it sucks.  How anyone can be happy with this show with these writers is beyond me.  Rafe/R2 is another example of a story line that should never have gotten to this point.  Some may think R2 is amazingly funny, or even better than Rafe.  I disagree.  It’s a mess, and once again Sami is being abused, and no one but me, I suppose, thinks it’s wrong.   Next thing you know, summer will be here and we’re facing teen angst and, oh, I don’t know, the raging hormones of the young set, forced to watch people like Melanie and Dario, Will and Gabi, and Chad and Abby, with an occasional walk-on from Kinsey and/or T.  Too bad; they’re probably the best in that bunch.  So, if the stories don’t get better, this show will continue to nose-dive. and personally I can see where that’s beginning to happen with these writers.  KC needs to change it up somehow, and no place to improve with these stories, so unless he just doesn’t give a damn, there had better be some meetings of the mindless, and soon.  Fans are in an uproar across the boards.

You have to be totally insecure about yourself if you’re jealous of Melanie.

and he’s been one of my favorites from day 1; however, he’s falling into that "Johnny-one-note" hole where everything sounds the same, and I think it’s because he has such a unique, gospel-like sound that he just can’t help it.  It’s his range that amazes me.  There’s just no note that’s too low or too high for him — he’s amazing.  It cracked me up last night when Ryan let the front row come up and give him a hug, and then cut it off when the guy came up.  ROFLMAO.  Also, although Stefano is adorable and sings like a pro already, I thought he made a bad song choice last night  He did not connect at all for me.  Maybe that’s because I’ve never been a Lionel Ritchie fan, but just was not his best last night for me.  Also, the judges are right — you cannot connect with your audience if you can’t look them in the eye.  He tried in the beginning, but halfway through those lids were shut.  Still think he’s going to be okay tonight.

James for the guys, and Naima for the girls.  Paul, please go home.  Pia, we know you can sing a ballad, now a little diversity, please.  Even Celine Dion gets upbeat in her stage performances, and she’s the ballad queen, IMO.  Thia was much better last night, but for some reason I don’t see a strong performance when I watch her.  She’s a little boring.  I love Casey, but just didn’t enjoy his rendition of Heard It Through The Grapevine last night, although the judges seemed to love it.  I did like Lauren last night but Haley’s songs all sound similar to me.  Maybe people don’t like her short-short outfits compared to the rest of these kids.  Personally, I think she looks terrific from week to week.  A little hard to know which way the votes will go tonight.  If they base it on individuality, people like Scottie and Paul and Naima will have a much better chance to stay alive, because Motown has always been its own genre, and too much deviation could be a turn-off, because many just won’t accept straying too far from originality where these songs are concerned.  I loved it and wish everyone the best of luck, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for James and Naima, because I think they did the best jobs last night.

but that’s just my own personal feelings and has nothing to do with how others feel.  I have seen a few done in the past, and just do not enjoy watching two people of the same sex making hot and heavy love on daytime television.  I am not prejudice, nor do I care if they do it.  It just would not be my preference.  Sorry if that offends anyone, but it is, after all, JMO.  If they do it, it should be with someone new, not people who are already on the show and who we have seen in heterosexual relationships.  I just would not buy Carly or Will.  Hopefully it won’t be Rafe, but unless his memories return, I could see it being him, which would really upset me, but it wouldn’t be out of the realm of believability.

with Social Services on the 18th, and his last air date is the 19th, so I’m thinking he will see to it that custody is given back to Chloe.  Didn’t he say he would never abandon Parker, though?  Haven’t seen any reveal as to exactly WHY he will be leaving Salem.  Maybe a recast is in the not too distant future, although it will not be Philip to me.  There’s been no word on a recast thus far.

and hopefully they will keep her that way.  She needs to stay away from men for a while, though, and concentrate solely on Parker and her ONLY.  She’s so much more likable this way than before, and I hope they keep dressing her this way as well.  So much more appropriate for a new mommy than looking like a blow-up doll.  It would be such a pleasant sight to see a Salem woman being able to stand on her own two feet and not clinging to some man for a change.

She must at some point either come to the mansion from the guest house, or maybe looking for Nicole or Taylor, but she is going to overhear the conversation between Stefano, E.J. and R-2, where they will be talking about the switch.  Now, whether or not they reveal where real Rafe is, I don’t know, but that is how Faye will find out the truth, and from what I’ve read, she will be in grave danger from it.  Oy, here we go again.  Too bad she doesn’t walk in on Taylor and E.J., who will soon give in to their frustrations.

or give Melanie one of your wash, rinse and repeat stories, like amnesia, maybe, just so she’ll go away…..far, far, far away…..and perhaps return one day, but never utter another word until hell freezes over, or the world, as we know it, comes to an end, whichever comes first.  I really don’t care where this character is concerned.  Philip and Nathan, fall on your knees and count your blessings.

wraps up all of his other contractual obligations at present.  Right now, beside his Broadway work, he’s also joined one of those on-line soaps (can’t remember which one right now), none of which I watch.  If I did, I would never get anything done in my home, and my vision would be completely shot.
