Participantto take the women of Salem out of the whorehouse. Take a good long look at most if not ALL of our ladies. They are depicted as nothing more than musical bed partners and loving every minute of it.

ParticipantI’ve seen a lot of over-acting complaints on the board lately. To me, Suzanne R. usually over-acts, especially when she’s in crying mode. I love Maggie to death; however, I like her much better in feisty mode than I do in crying mode. I just think she overdoes it. She almost screams her dialogue. I do, however, enjoy the deepening bond between Maggie and Daniel. I don’t mind him calling her mom more than usual. It’s like a final acceptance to me for both Daniel and Maggie, and right now I’m glad she has him in her life, because Daniel is one screwed up mess right now.

Participantand irredeemable under any circumstance. Sami’s intentions may be to help him, but she’s once again falling under some uncontrollable feelings she has, and probably always will have, for him, and the same situation applies to him. And it’s not just because of their kids. That’s just the excuse they both use whenever she or E.J. needs to reconcile the situation to themselves. Is it sick love? By all means, and then some. When I think about it, it’s like when she’s pissed at him and goes off on him, especially when he’s involved with another woman; but, when he’s alone and has no one, which is what she believes now, she puts the past behind her and gives him the benefit of the doubt. She should have turned her back on him and said good riddance to bad rubbish; now she has once again put herself in danger for her efforts. They will eventually go back to hating each other at some point, I’m sure of it. Sami is like the road to hell, in that she’s filled with good intentions, but eventually winds up taking it anyway and literally finds herself "paying the devil his dues" (as he said to her right before he raped her). Will she ever learn where E.J. is concerned? Probably not, and that’s sad because I have always loved the character and can’t seem to make myself give upon her. I know it always sounds like I’m making excuses for her. Maybe one day I’ll give up on her, too, but I doubt it.

ParticipantI’m a huge Lauren Koslow fan and, wow, these scenes between Kate and Ian so far have been dynamic. Everyone is doing a marvelous job. Too bad Abbey had to freeze the first time that door was opened; her father would still be alive. Then she had a second chance and froze again. No wonder she blames herself. Looks like she’s going to need Doc Marlena Evans soon.

Participantwith any new people at the helm, they bring their own people with them. Most of these are script writers and breakdown writers that T&W evidently have prior association and like what they saw, so they were hired to take the place of those who may not have such a bond with the new head-writers. Just as with the head-writers, and anyone experiencing new management, it’s out with the old, in with the new. I’m just wondering how this will affect the cast. Some writers love writing for certain characters; others, not so much. As long as the stories are entertaining, interesting, and keep me wanting to tune in, I don’t care who’s writing the show. I love certain characters, but if their story lines are boring, uninteresting, or the characters themselves are bludgeoned through bad writing, I don’t want to see them on my screen. I wish all the best to Gary and Chris and hope they can dislodge the doubt and criticism I’ve been reading on many boards. I’m willing to sit back, relax, and let the pros do the talking (writers AND actors).

ParticipantHe was on Y&R and GH. What I meant to imply was that Greg Vaughan has been recast as Eric Brady in returning THE CHARACTER to the show …. but I phrased it wrong. I think perhaps you knew what I meant, though, since the re-cast role has been discussed before this. But that’s okay….my mistake.

Participantcheck a few posts above yours; you’ll find somebody who does.

Participantunless the letter itself was a fake. Even Stefano believed it. God, those former writers were horrible. I want to see how they’re going to get out of this very bold lie at this point and still protect Alice Horton’s reputation. Could Ian have something to do with this, too? Probably!

Participantand according to a spoiler I read, it will be a really big storyline for Peggy McKay, who I’m thinking will do a really good job with it. I hope this does happen, because I think Peggy will shine in the role.
PR has taped his last scenes, but not a hint yet on the storyline surrounding his departure, but I did read a PR interview that said he was told beforehand by TPTB that they will NOT be killing Bo off, so I’m assuming the door will be left open for him. I’m more anxious right now to see what they will do with Hope, since KA has already re-signed a new contract to remain with the show.

Participantbut Sami has made it very clear to E.J. that she is helping him because she and Will know he’s being framed, she knows he has no one else, and she’s determined to have him remain in her children’s lives. She’s not leaving her kids, and has asked Will to let them know that she will be back as soon as she can. Today’s show will confirm that, and you will also see that although she and E.J. do get a little close today, it is obvious that she is not there for the reasons most automatically assume when it comes to Sami. Although they do have a sort of animal magnetism toward one another, they both know full well that they are toxic together.
But when people despise a character on this board as much as Sami is despised, no one wants to see through their veil of deceit when it comes to her, so people tend to turn on her rather than see through it. It’s easier to excuse their hatred of the character if they vilify her every move. Truth is, there are so, so many other women on this show that are comparable to her in every way imaginable.
Personally, I hope they keep E.J. and Sami on screen for at least a while yet, because they entertain me a lot, and that’s what a soap is supposed to do; but, I also hope that they both soon wake up and BOTH be better co-parents and friends, but without benefits. Honestly, I think her end game will be Rafe, but that may not happen until November sweeps.

Participantto be one of, if not, THE, best actresses on DOOL. She has carried this Ian/Madison/Kate triangle off so well, and her acting, for me, yesterday was anything but strained. I just hope to see Kate destroy Ian before the actor’s last day, which is August 22nd. I know a lot of people loved Deborah Adair, too; but, for me, LK’s acting chops far exceed DA’s. JMO. Just wish they’d do a make-over on Kate — keep her classy, but dress her more age appropriate, and give her a classy hair-cut, and by lll means it’s time to say goodbye to the blue streak.

Participantthis week while he was holding Madison in his arms. It looked like red plastic bandaids, all dry and shiny. I had to laugh every time he touched Madison’s white dress or her hair or face, and no blood came off on any of it. Other than that, I’ve really been enjoying the show every day. What a performance by IB and LK today. Ian and Kate were best part of today’s show for me.

Participantuntil, when they finally cleared the debris, she was GONE. How in the heck did she get out, and why did Bo, Hope and Daniel not see her get out. Was there a hole in the back wall, because if she came out sideways, would they not have seen her? That part of the scene just didn’t make any sense to me.
Patti
Participantthe Hortons were almost all but gone from DOOL and bringing back Nick’s mother, Jessica, (Marie’s daughter) might be their idea of the start of returning to the show’s original families. Same with having Eric Brady return. I remember reading Ken Corday’s interview saying that was their intention.
