I watched today’s show and I was surprised how many times Daniel called Maggie "Mom". I found that quite odd, after all, he only found out relatively recently (in his life) that she’s his biological mother, he knew and was raised by a mother, so why the sudden "Mom"? Did anyone else find that surprising?
I posted that exact same thing just now in another thread. Great minds, eh?
Yes, I thought it was kind of strange and wondered if they are trying to tell us something. (What, I have no idea.)
Jennifer used to do that all the time with Frankie and then Jack. It used to drive me crazy listening to her use their name in every sentence. She doesn’t do it anymore.
All I can think is that, for those just (re)starting to watch, it’s a shout-out: here’s how these two are related, she’s his mother, he’s her son, etc. But it just didn’t seem genuine (and I’m not even sure the actor felt comfortable with the words!)
I was wondering when he decided to start calling her mom. Did I miss something? Also, if he’s calling her mom, why isn’t Melanie calling her grandma?
I’ve seen a lot of over-acting complaints on the board lately. To me, Suzanne R. usually over-acts, especially when she’s in crying mode. I love Maggie to death; however, I like her much better in feisty mode than I do in crying mode. I just think she overdoes it. She almost screams her dialogue. I do, however, enjoy the deepening bond between Maggie and Daniel. I don’t mind him calling her mom more than usual. It’s like a final acceptance to me for both Daniel and Maggie, and right now I’m glad she has him in her life, because Daniel is one screwed up mess right now.
I like maggie and Daniels relationship too, it doesn’t bother me he calls her mom, I actually haven’t noticed it all that much, Melanie has called her grandma the minute she found out that she was biologically related. Heck she wished she was her granddaughter when they had no idea! I wish Mel wasn’t leaving, I was one of the rare ones that liked melanie even when she first came on as a conniving littlle b*tch. I liked her helping at the hospital though I’m surprised she remembered anything since she hasn’t worked in a hospital for so long!
I with she weren’t leaving too. I think she has great chemistry with Maggie, Chad and Daniel. I’d also love to see her kicked Gabi’s butt. When she leaves, that will leave the door open for Gabi and Chad again, yuck!
