ParticipantAll My Children, As The World Turns, and The Guiding Light. Guess this is going to be Hope’s new beau (pun intended)!

Participantthat was posted on-line in the L.A. Times. Super great news!!! Renewed for 2 more years. I’m glad Ali is off the hook (for me, anyway) for her very early announcement on Ellen that she is retiring after this year. Wonder if or when James Scott’s contract is going to be renewed, which is up, I believe, in April of this year. He’s been known to state that he wants to quit soaps and move to New Zealand. Hmmmmm…..I wonder!!!!

Participantits renewal of Y&R, and I believe B&B as well, and GH has already been renewed as well. NBC is the only network, which is, of course, the DOOL network, that has not yet announced it’s daytime renewals. Hmmmm, just got to wonder if anything’s going on here, or am I reading too much into this? I hope it’s the latter, and they (NBC) just haven’t announced yet. I would hate to see DOOL not reach it’s 50th anniversary, and hardly believe that they (NBC) would allow that to happen, seeing as how the show’s ratings have skyrocketed, along with all 3 other soaps.

Participantgives reality TV one hellacious bruise. No way would I subject my child to this maniacal woman or to this show. These mothers need their heads examined, but I think they actually enjoy the attention they get. Guess that’s why it’s called “Dance MOMS.”

Participantit would be like trying to recast Frances Reid as Alice Horton. After 21 years, and watching this beautiful woman as Samantha Gene Brady, I could never, ever accept a recast. I just hope the announcement for a DAYS renewal comes soon; otherwise, I may be suspicious about why Ali’s announcement came out so early, since she’s going to be with the show to the end of the year, and DAYS contract is up in September 2014. I do have some concerns about why her retiring came out when she has a whole year to be on screen. Hope I’m making more out of this than is relevant.

Participantwe got 8″ here in the city, which is a mess in an of itself. LOL! It’s the single digit temps and the wind that’s unbearable for me, so right now I’m snug as a bug inside, warm, cozy, and content to stay that way til’ spring. Used to love winter when I was very young, now….not so much!

Participanttheir storyline took a long time to get interesting, but it was really worth the wait. I do have mixed emotions, however, on how I want it to conclude. Not only do I love Gregg Vaughan as Father Eric, but what more can be said about Ari’s acting that hasn’t already been said? She is the epitome of what a soap star should be in just about every role she takes on. I think I love this one, mainly because finally someone loves Nicole for Nicole, and it’s pure, and it’s from the heart, and she has needed that for so very long, IMO. The unconditional but repressed love that has been hiding between these two characters sometimes takes my breath away. This has been a beautiful storyline, and I’m sure it will continue to be until the writers finally decide who is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice…..the priest, the woman who loves him, or God? Wow, kudos on this one, DOOL!

Participantand I wholeheartedly agree, by the way!!!
Patti
Participantdepending on where you live in the state. So far here in Baltimore we have about 3.5″ and it’s expected to continue until late tonight before tapering off in the wee hours of tomorrow a.m. Ugh! At least DOOL wasn’t interrupted here.

Participantstill, breaks my Sami-lovin’ heart, though!

Participantthat could indicate I don’t like him; however, I am so used to CM that it’s been a hard transition for me. His acting may appear to be better, but I also loved a lot of the ‘quirky’ ways of CM in his portrayal of Will, and still find myself missing him. GW and FS seem to work well together, and for two supposedly straight guys, they sure have played their roles well. I believe them as a gay couple.
As far as GW’s looks are concerned, sorry but he reminds me of either a young Mickey Rooney, or the cartoon caricature Alfred E. Newman, I can’t decide which.

ParticipantI don’t believe it!!!!! I will have to see/hear it with my own two eyes/ears, or hear her announce it on a reputable show instead of some rumor control site before I will allow myself to be as upset as I know I will be if it’s true. For me, this woman IS an icon where Days of Our Lives is concerned, and I would be devastated if this is true. Of course, this would make a lot of the Sami haters extremely happy (you know the ones I mean …. the ones who can’t separate the actor from the character) but be careful what you wish for. I have never heard of this site before, and I’m more than a little suspect of any site that starts with the word “rumor” in it, so I’ll stick with “wait and see” for now.
Whoops, nevermind; just read the complete article and she either did or will announce it on Ellen on Tuesday. SMDH; still hard to believe but best of luck to her. Lord knows, she has enough pans in the fire, but this fan will truly miss her, and like Peter Reckell, a re-cast simply would not do it for me.

Participantwere supposed to be getting better, nor worse; yet, Sami’s wardrobe today was ugly, as was her hair. I don’t get it. This new guy, Bloor, is supposed to be some sort of fashion genius, and Lauren Koslow’s husband is head of hair and make-up, and I’ve read one accolade after another about him. But, seriously, they both need to take a good long look at Sami today.
Patti
Participantbut it’s never been anything but disgusting to me, and thank God it seems to be over.
Patti
Participantand to you Maxine. I don’t see the Seahawks beating them in the SB, but you never know. Of course, the Patriots, like the Chargers, came too late to the show to pull out a win; but, I never doubted Peyton Manning and the Broncos wouldn’t be able to out-play them. Broncos took their running game away, and Brady was really off yesterday. Good luck in the SB!
Must admit, I was sorry to see the 49ers go down, but I don’t think Colin Kaepernick is all that he’s cracked up to be either. Guess he can kiss his biceps good-night til’ next year. LOL!
