ParticipantBut wouldn’t Kate have known before she broke into Madeline’s lockbox and saw the document that she was Chad’s mother.
I’m thinking as someone mentioned previously, Kate and Madeline were sisters or related somehow. Madeline got pregnant by Stefano or someone they both know but she hid the pregnancy and told everyone she adopted Chad.

ParticipantAccording to Daytime Confidential Stacy said it was a scheduling conflict after she landed a guest spot on FOX’s midseason replacement Ride-Along. She goes on to say she has no hard feelings. http://daytimeconfidential.com/
BUT
This is what she had to say on Facebook
For all you guys out there who were all set to watch me on DAYS I have some bad news. DAYS has dropped me. It all started when I booked a guest spot on a new show for FOX, RIDE-ALONG. The show will shoot in Chicago and I have to leave town for that. There was a conflict in scheduling so FOX pushed me to their second week. But when ONE day was still in conflict, instead of working things out, DAYS decided to drop me.

ParticipantI’m not sure if I’d say Hope was strung out on drugs. Yes she was under the influence but they were prescription drugs and the sleepwalking or alternate life while on this medication is a known side effect. She wasn’t taking obtaining them illegally or abusing them but taking them at night so she could sleep under a doctor’s care so she might have a defense with that.

ParticipantIt was Jennifer who had the TV show. I remember when she was pregnant with Abby she went into labor while on the air.
With Gran gone she’ll be the new resident babysitter

ParticipantOh yes, she was full of inuendo’s and the look she’d get led you to think you knew where her mind was on that one.
Her little role on Ugly Betty a couple of seasons ago when she was suing Wilhelmena for knocking her down was great.

ParticipantFrom what I read she hears Phillip and Chloe discussing the test so I’m guessing Chloe and her big mouth also tells Phillip what her fake name was.

ParticipantI had a problem with the girl who played Carrie, Tracy Middendorf, when she first moved into an apartment on her own. The first time she met Austin when he was played by Patrick Muldoon. I’ve seen her in other things and she’s OK but not as Carrie. There was also a girl Charity Rahmer, who played Belle for a month between Kirsten Storms and Martha Madison.

ParticipantI have a feeling Stefano will be in the top 4.

ParticipantHIPAA is good because it’s suppose to prevent healthcare personnel from discussing you with anyone, even your family without your permission. I remember how upset my aunt was in the mid 70’s when she was diagnosed with cancer. She wanted to be the one to tell her husband but the doctor came right out and told him before she had a chance. I also remember when my brother died in 1977 he had a heart attack on the street at age 39. It was a coroner’s case since there was no medical history of illness. My parents were worried they’d find drugs or something because of his age. The got so upset when a co-worker and friend of my dad’s went to the coroner’s office and got a copy of the report before my parents did. He had no right asking but back then there was nothing in place to prevent him from getting it except morality and common decency.
Thank God there was no evidence of drugs of any kind, he had severe hardening of the arteries but it still ruined a friendship between him and my parents.
When I applied for SSDI and hired an attorney I had to fill out forms giving her access to my medical records to be able to help me get approved. Sometimes it’s a hassle but I can see where the good outweighs the inconvenience of remembering who you gave permission to and for what plus signing all the forms.

ParticipantSami and Hope weren’t too hard to get use to because the current actor came in when they were teens after being off screen for a while and have been the only ones in those roles since. We watched them grow up.
Bo was hard, even though the actor they got to play him had similar colorings to Peter he still didn’t quite do it for a while then just when I was warming up to him Peter came back.
I do agree though the thought of someone else playing John, Marlena and Stefano won’t work. Even Victor and Maggie would be very difficult

ParticipantWorking in health care for 30 years and being around before and after HIPAA. It was first thought that it meant that doctors and other health care facilities and personal couldn’t sell your information to outside sources for advertising. Some would give information to pharmaceutical reps if you were on certain medicaions, etc. It was actually started due to the impending widespread use of electronic data.
It was taken out of context and some went overboard and it went on to protect the patient and their information from any and everyone If you notice that’s when they started closing curtains and doors when talking to patients, you have to give permission for them to even speak to your spouse or children and they are suppose to get permission to leave any information on an answering machine or voicemail.
This then went further in that healthcare practitioner can only share information with another practitioner that is necessary for them to do their job. So, if you were going to Physical Therapy they are only to share what information the therapist needs but are forbidden to go into your medical history that is not pertinent such as if you’ve had any STD’s in your past. That information might be required if you were seeing a neurologist though.
When I worked at the hospital they set security on the computer systems and everyone had to log in to view patient information. Based on your department you were limited to certain files only. The psych ward was off limits to most department but the I worked in Respiratory Therapy and we would treat patients in that area and do our charting and billing in another area so we had to have access to those files. Even if you had access to the files in that area they could tell what files you were looking at and if it was a patient not receiving our services we were disciplined and often fired for use of that information.
The Department of Health and Human Resources has a detailed history and ammendments made to the act. http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/understanding/index.html
Now you even have to give permission for the doctor or hospital to give the insurance information so they can process and pay your claim. If paramedics leave a house and a neighbor asks what was wrong they’re not allowed to discuss it or even say which person in the house they were there to see.
HIPAA was so vague in it’s terms at the beginning that everyone went overboard in order to protect themselvs and not violate the terms of the act.
So, in working under HIPAA for many years the nurse at St. Mary’s was violating HIPAA in telling someone who was not treating that patient anything about her, even her name should have been off limits. Melanie also in violation for asking and then for spreading it around AND Daniel was in violation for trying to force his way into the room that had the curtain closed of a patient who clearly wanted him to stay out.

ParticipantYou do have to pay taxes on large ticket item winnings and inheritance. It seems anytime you come into money over a certain amount Uncle Sam has his hand out.
Look at all those people who got the car on Oprah, they were informed ahead of time about the taxes and could refuse the prize but they were greedy and took it anyway then complained when they had to pay. When my mom died I had to see an attorney with her will. If everything would have gone through probate I would have had to pay taxes on any money or property over a certain amount but she didn’t have much, just the house that wasn’t quite paid off. We did a Personal Undertaking where I was responsible for all her debts and it was quicker and nothing was owed.
Same with Lotto winnings. You didn’t earn it, you won it but Uncle Sam still wants his share. Las Vegas is the same. If you win a small amount at a time they don’t look twice but win over a certain amount and they’ve got the tax forms for you to fill out. Lesson here, if you win a little at a time, cash the chips in a little at a time. If you accumulate a large amount over several days and cash it all in at once they look at it as a one time winning.
I do product reviews and even though I’m not getting paid they consider the items I review and get to keep as income and I have to claim their full market value on my taxes. I can donate them to charity after the review but it’s still income and I can then use the donation as a deduction but it never balances out.

ParticipantI don’t know about the DA not wasting taxpayers money. He’s very anti Brady, he was one of her victims and he just lost his wife. I have a feeling he’s going to be out for blood.

ParticipantI think we’ll all agree Alice Grayson Horton will be #1.
I forgot her maiden name was Grayson. Would be nice if one of the Horton offspring were to name a son Grayson or at least use that as a middle name.

ParticipantI’d always heard the term "illegal offshore account" and though that meant it was there to hide money from the US government to avoid paying taxes or it eas gotten through illegal activities.
