ParticipantI so badly wanted to make 50 years, but alas, it wasn’t to be.

ParticipantYou almost made me cry.

ParticipantIt kind of helps with those people who can’t separate the actor from the character…and we all know there are many of those. Of course it doesn’t help me to stop disliking these two so very much. :o)
It also shows us that these actors can realize what ridiculous things the writers have them doing. But I think if I were in the business, I’d much rather play a baddie than a goodie because it would be so much easier to get across.

ParticipantIt’s been way down into the 70s.
But I feel for you guys, been there, done that. Grew up in the Chicago area so I know cold. I think I have mentioned this before but nothing is colder than standing on that El platform when it’s -10° and the wind is blowing at 30 mph. Brrr, makes me cold just thinking about it.
I can remember thinking that winter was never going to end and spring get there. Now, I’m just the opposite…all summer long I look forward to winter (the best time of the year here) and wishing it would last longer. Boy, we’re just never happy, huh?

Participantshe’d have more time to be with her family. It seems that is a frequent catch-all for people wanting to leave their roles. I’m thinking she is just getting tired of playing Sami and feels she can no longer bring the life to the character it deserves, in other words, it’s probably getting very stale for her.
I, too, don’t think I could accept a re-cast. Ali is Sami…period…paragraph. Of course we said that about Belle too and ended up many people liked Martha better than Kirsten so, who knows? Same with Bo and RKK. I just hope they don’t try to pull a “Bo” on us and keep her out of town for years to come.

Participantwhen she first came on the show, I’m sure she lightens it now but since we have come to know her consistently through the years with the lighter color, I just don’t find the darker that attractive.
But, did you notice when her and Marlena were arm in arm today that their colors matched exactly?

ParticipantI have found that show to be so blatently phony I don’t know what keeps them all from laughing when they try to say their lines. Those people fall in love as often as chainging their underwear.

ParticipantI was in The Salem Place forum.

Participantvery frumpy today and I do NOT like her new hair color…AT ALL!
Bonbon
ParticipantNot much to say except, maybe next year.

ParticipantI was thinking the same thing. When I get out of the shower or the pool I always wrap my towel around me and it just does NOT stay there. Must be that good ol’ double sided tape again. :o)

Participantdifferent religions have differing beliefs on this. I think (correct me if I’m wrong) that you are speaking specifically about the Catholic church.
My kids were both around three-months old but I don’t recall there being any specific “rules” regarding when it should happen or how old they should be. This was in the Lutheran church.

ParticipantI liked it better lighter. I remember the first day Sami appeared on the show. My first thought was what beautiful hair she had.

Participantthat different people have different feelings about things. You ask me why I feel that way. I don’t know. Why do some people like lemon pie and others hate it? Why are some democrat and others republican? Why are some right-handed and some left-handed? You get my drift? As far as watching a gay male with a straight female, no, that doesn’t bother me because they are not the same sex. Homosexuality has absolutely nothing to do with this, I am, and always have been from the time I understood what it was, fully accepting of homosexuality. But I do find it distasteful watching two same sex “straight” people in sexual situations. I can understand how you feel about this because I don’t get one bit how people can be so against homosexuality when it is the most natural thing in the world (I mean, just look how many there are). They probably can’t explain why they feel that way either.
FWIW, I’m not a big fan of any of the “bedroom scenes” no matter who is in it. Very few actors can pull it off convincingly. (I always cringed when Brady and Kristin were in bed.) I just feel that the actors are very uncomfortable with those scenes as many, many of them have admitted to in interviews. I don’t know, maybe that’s the problem with these two guys, it comes across to me that they are so uncomfortable. Not just the little pecks, pats and hugs. I don’t mind them either, just the more passionate stuff.
And I will agree that those guys are absolutely doing a great job in their roles because I am totally and entirely convinced these two characters are deeply in love with each other. Probably more so than any other pair on this show.
TFlo, let me say that I always enjoy your posts, most of your views and opinions and even your disagreements with me, BUT, when we get on this subject, I sometimes think you are trying too hard to defend yourself and you really don’t need to do that with me. I have found that most gay guys (and I think a lot of women will agree with me) are some of the funniest, sensitive and caring people there are. I recently lost a very dear friend of mine who was gay. So, just let me be with my own little “phobia” (because I really don’t have many, other than spiders) okay?
Sorry, I really didn’t intend to write a book here. I’d just like you to be able to accept that I have different likes than you and that doesn’t make me homophobic, hypocritical, insincere or anything else, it’s just me and who I am, whether you agree or disagree with me.

ParticipantAnd it’s different in different religions. I believe the Catholics believe in doing it while they are still very young. (There are some that actually wait until you are old enough to answer for yourself.) But I remember just the other day Gabi mentioned something about waiting until Rafe is better to have the christening. I think it was because the dress was so big and now it’ll fit better. So, IRL, she would probably have already had it.
