At least they had three other kids and gave them the baby at birth.  A friend of mine wasn’t so lucky.

I mentioned this before about a friend of mine.  Her 50-year old daughter had never married and had had ovarian cancer and couldn’t conceive a child.  She desperately wanted a baby so went to a fertility clinic and got a donor egg and sperm and had a little boy.  Four years later she got a call from the clinic saying they had given her the wrong embryo and the couple wanted their child back.  FOUR YEAR LATER!

They have been battling this in court now for five years.  The couple won equal custody and the boy hates going to spend time with them.  He is afraid of the father and gets physically ill when he has to go.  The unfortunate part is the judge demands it and has NEVER even talked to the boy to see how he feels.

The law suit settlement she got from suing the clinic is gone from paying legal bills and she’s now got her house for sale  because she is so deeply in debt.  She lost her job because of all the time she had to spend in court and (she’s an architech) it’s not easy getting another one at 55.  So I’m well aware it can happen.  Google Susan Buchweitz if you want to read the entire story.  She was on Good Morning America and The Today Show at the time.

If you are asked to play a role that you are morally uncomfortable with as an individual, you certainly shouldn’t have to.  Like James and the rape.  But, we didn’t actually see the rape so it’s not like he had to do something he was didn’t agree with.

I kind of look at it like me going to my boss and saying I’m not comfortable with doing that report, or heading up that project, or anything else in my job description that I just might not want to do.  That is your job and you’re supposed to do it.  Like I said before, the producer/writers are not there at the pleasure of the actors, it’s the other way around.  The actors are actually almost at the bottom of the totem pole.

    The same back atcha!

I’m not doing anything special for V.day as all the family is out of town but they are wise enough to call mom and wish her a happy one.  (I raised them well!)

No SO in this household to get candy or flowers from so the doggies and I will have a special chocolate cookie (not chocolate for them though) after dinner tonight.  Well, maybe a glass of wine too (not for them either, just mom!).

So Happy Valentine’s Day to you all also.

it seems to me the actor shouldn’t care how their character is written as long as it gives them something they can portray capably.  I’ve heard many actors say they like to play comedy or the "bad guy" because it’s meatier that just your run of the mill character.  And I really can’t imagine an actor having the audacity to go to the producer and tell them he isn’t "comfortable" playing the character as it’s written.  Boy, that a good way to be shown the door in a hurry.  The writers aren’t there at the pleasure of the actor.  I think James is pretty lucky he is still working on Days with an attitude like that.

I’ve heard Peter R. say in an interview that it doesn’t make any difference to him which way they take his character as he still has to show up every morning and read the lines as written.  Maybe that’s why he’s been around so long.  In fact, I think that was one of the main reasons Louise Sorrell got thrown out on her derierre, because she was complaining about how HERr character was written.  James would do well to take a cue from her.

they were allowing anyone under 18 to audition.

And Reuben wasn’t exactly a lightweight.

Where did this Pandora junk come from anyway.  I’d never heard of it before and now it’s supposed to be all the rage.  Personally, I think it’s ugly.  I guess it’s just something that fad-followers will just have to have.  Same thing with those "chocolate" diamonds.  Ick!  Hey, baby, if you give me diamonds, I want diamonds that LOOK like diamonds!

then the cookies shouldn’t have had time to burn either.  Big goof-up, writers.

Not only that, I’ve burned a pan of cookies and they don’t cause that much smoke.

It’s just that nobody really gets retribution for their evil deeds on this show with a few exceptions.  They put Kristen’s brother (what WAS his name?) in jail for a long time but that was because he left the show.  If they put them in jail forever, we wouldn’t see them again.

If you look at many of the characters and some of the awful things they’ve done (Sami is an excellent example when she was acting as Stan), they are still walking around scott free.  Look at Victor who has had people killed and hasn’t even gone to trial or arrested.  So, I don’t think it’s a case of not giving EJ his just desserts, it’s that they can’t really do anything to him and still have him remain on the show.

How come you never see duets, trios, etc. on AI?  Do they not allow multiple singers?  There are certainly talented ones out there as shown on that other show that showcases large groups of singers whose name escapes me now.

DeeLan, that’s a hint from Heloise.  To clean stains from an aluminum pan, boil apples in it.   I’ll bet your’s was really nice and shiny.  :o)

I forgot a tea kettle on my stove (electric) and when I found it the bottom had melted and fused to the burner.  My mom did the same thing with one of those old Corning Wear coffee pots.  I would never have believed that one of those would melt but it did.  I frequently forget to turn off the burner when I fry my egg in the morning.  Fortunately, it makes little noises when it’s on that I hear while I’m eating.  But, that’s old age…I’m sure.

You may remember me telling you about my nephew who had brain damage and short-term memory loss from a motorcycle accident.  He was always forgetting and leaving the stove or oven on so his buddies hooked the stove up to a big light above the door so it would be on every time he turned either a burner or oven on and he couldn’t leave the house without seeing it.

But, intentionally leaving your child in the house alone?  Uh-uh.  I don’t believe that’s because of her PPD.  Yes, Andrea Yeats killed her kids but that was intentional.  I don’t think Chloe intentionally left Parker in harms way.

finding out his daughter was kidnapped (by Nicole) and being shot in the head would be considered payback.

But then, who on this show has ever gotten the payback they actually deserved?  We tend to forget about what the characters we like have done and their lack of consequences.

that Stefano wants answers from Rafe to give Rafe2 more information to make him more believable.  But what I don’t understand is why this Rafe2 is there in the first place.  AFAICS, it’s only to torture Sami.  But if she doesn’t know who he is, it can’t be affecting her.  And as far as tortuing Rafe, why?

I guess I’m on the wrong side of the fence again because, although it isn’t great, I don’t think this SL is that bad.  I enjoy watching the little nuances that Rafe2 has that makes him different than Rafe1.  I think the actor is doing a great job.

But it’s so true about EJ.  Can he get any more dispicable?  I just wish, as someone else mentioned previously, that they’d at least give him some goodness once in a while.  They have always done that in the past.  I don’t think there’s ever been a villian on Days that hasn’t shown a least a touch of humaness at times.  I always think of Angelica Devereaux, whom I hated with a passion, but then she’d come up with some tenderness and I’d think she was human afterall.

that PPD doesn’t usually set in right away, it’s sometime after the baby is born that it starts, weeks and even months after.  That may have just been the time Chloe’s surfaced.  Then add the shock of Daniel’s rejection.  It’s no wonder she’s gone potty ’round the bend.

There’s no reason she shouldn’t be able to make a phone call.  Stupid, stupid, stupid!

As far as rejecting her own heart, I don’t know if that’s possible but I do know that rejection of a replanted hand, finger, toe or such is subject to rejection.  I’ve seen operations like that on TV and they have to take anti-rejection drugs just like someone receiving another person’s organ does.  So maybe it is possible.  I’m not sure there are too many cases of someone having their own heart replanted in them or why that would even happen.

Well, this is interesting.  I did some quick research about replantation and it appears the only successful replantation (where the body part has been completely severed from the body) that’s been done has been fingers, toes or arms…NO HEARTS!  Did that surprise anyone?
