Participanttheir new lemonade with the strawberry flavoring in it. The lemon talks. It’s a real lemon with animated features and kind of a Brooklyn accent, not quite but close. Sounds a little like a NY wise guy.

Participantthe commercials are funnier than the programs.
Right now I like the McDonald’s lemon. Also the cat food one where the kitten is wearing a tag on his collar with a marriage proposal. Not funny but so very sweet.

Participantabout Jack’s return. He was amusing at times and he and Jen made a nice couple but I’ve never been real crazy about his character. I’d much rather have had John return, with or without Marlena.
I’d give up Taylor, Dario, Abby, and even Chad to have John back.

ParticipantI don’t think she would have done anything with the evidence she has about Rafe…just kind of keep it in her back pocket. But when she saw EJ kissing Taylor and then he wants out, that was the time to lay out her hand.
BTW, Vivian found out it was definitely Rafe in the cell and the DNA test results were what she threw in the trash and Nicole dug out. That’s how Nicole found out.

ParticipantI like the way Nicole is manipulating EJ and really enjoy their scenes when she’s "sticking it to him." She is just so smug and he is just so miserable. So, in a sense, I kinda feel sorry for both of them.
But…and it’s a BIG but…what’s going to happen when Sami comes home? Since she knows the complete story (whereas Nicole only knows that Rafe was held prisoner, not switched) Nicole’s hold over EJ will be gone, over, fini, kaput! That’s when I’m going to start worrying about Nicole’s well-being.
I have not an inkling of where this story will go or even CAN go. It seems to me that Sami will use her leverage to get sole custody of the kids which leaves both EJ and Nicole out in the cold. And that will leave EJ free to pursue his revenge on Nikki. Patti, I don’t think it’ll be Stefano to go after her unless you know something the rest of us don’t. I know you keep up on the spoilers where I only know from what I read here.
I guess we’re all going to have to hide and watch, huh? Whatever, it’s going to be interesting.

Participanthere in Florida and I called them and they said they can’t help me. But they cautioned me very strongly to NOT get them, pay for them myself and then submit the bill to Medicare because I’ll never get paid. Ya can’t win. I’m just about to go someplace and just pay for them myself. I guess that’s what they’re hoping for.
Deelan, would you please email me? I have a personal question I’d like to ask you privately. tresbonbon@aol.com Thanks.

ParticipantAlthough I do like the zebra can. I can see that popping out on the shelves. But I agree on the boom box. It was too busy to see the 7-Up logo.
They always seem to throw a big monkey wrench in the final task just to see how they’ll handle it. Interesting, yes, very. Can’t wait until next week.
My bet is on John as the winner but would like it to see Marlee take it. BTW, I think Marlee had a small advantage with her deafness. She didn’t hear some of the bickering and bad ideas that was going on behind her back and only got what her interpreter chose to sign. It’s pretty hard when several people are talking to get everything to her.
Did you notice that all during the brainstorming time, Star was sitting in front of her computer, not offering any ideas? She’s such a turd!
Casey, I think you meant Brett Michaels as the interviewer, not Richard Hatch.

ParticipantI really hate that I missed it but it’s too long a show to watch it on CBS.com.

Participantis on USA but it’s in reruns now. Since you’ve never watched you might want to check them out. There’s a little history involved but after watching a couple of episodes, you’ll get the hang of it. I believe it comes on at 9:00 but not positive. The subtle humor in it is great. Like when they introduce the villian, he’ll refer to him as the "bad guy" and then they’ll put "bad guy" under his image.
This one is filmed in Miami, so like Barely Legal, I enjoy seeing familiar scenery. His (Michael Westen is the hero’s name) "home" is supposedly on the New River but we’ve never been able to find it. Sharon Gless (from Cagney and Lacey) plays his chain-smoking mother (she is a real hoot) and he has a girfriend who is a weapons and explosives expert. Then his best friend is a former Navy Seal.

Participantbut just couldn’t get interested in it. I’m looking forward to Burn Notice. I really LOVE that show. The writing and plots are so good and there’s just enough humor in it to make is fun as well.
I also liked Fairly Legal. It is filmed in San Francisco so everything outside is familiar to me. I can’t place the office building she works in but that may not be a real place.

ParticipantFirst I have to tell you she is an ex from about 12 years ago so I don’t ever see her to talk about Days like we used to do plus she lives in CA while I’m in FL.
She’s about 5’6", long blond hair and about 38 years old but looks younger. Sometimes I only see her from the back and not sure it’s her but when they show her face I know.

Participantthat the dinner scenes usually go on for eight or nine hours so he does all he eating while it’s still warm. Then he turned sideways and held his stomach and butt. :o)
Yes, that’s an excellent show. I hated MTW on there, he was soooo dispicable. I was pretty sure he did it too. He was such a scum bag but I love him dearly. He will alwasy be Mike Horton to me. Well, he’s gone now. Wouldn’t it be great to have him do a guest appearance on Days? Be still my heart!!!
That show is very well written. I think the dinner scenes is (I believe "is" is correct here) one of the things that makes it successful because it’s the only place we can see everybody reacting to the plot together. But I have to pay very close attention to it because I have a hard time keeping up with the dialog (don’t hear so good anymore and the CC is very small on that show). Same problem with Hawaii Five-Oh. Ah, old age!

ParticipantFirst of all, I love kids in the storys. We complain about realism, kids are realistic. Look how we all goo-gooed about many of them. So what if they’re not great actors, they add to the stories. I think they should have more pets too. Everybody I know has a dog or cat.
If you don’t want to compare soaps to primetime, then you have to cut to showing them only once a week. Speaking for myself, I wouldn’t like that. Days is part of my day and I enjoy sitting down with a nice cold Frapuccino in my hand and relaxing for 40 minutes. I’d hate to see it cut to 1/2 hour either, even if it meant better quality.
One thing I agree with is that the scenes are way to short. I also hate the way they flip-flop around from one senario to the other(s). But…that is for this new, younger generation. Remember when MTV first came out? The videos they showed moved so fast you’d hardly see what was happening, and it’s getting worse and worse. It’s us old folks that don’t like that. The younger generation doesn’t have the attention span of a fruit fly and if you linger on any one thing for more than 10 seconds, they lose interest. I don’t think that will change. And I also hate the repeat of the first couple of minutes. But it’s a good way to cut production costs. They used to do it pre-VCR days to catch up the viewers who may have missed yesterday’s ep. Now, it’s just laziness, IMO. Same thing with flashbacks…they are NO LONGER NECESSARY!!!
Now, if they cut to writing for only the core couples, I can tell you without a doubt, I’d be bored out of my skull. There is not one single character I’d want to do without (actor, yes, character, not necessarily). I like having Mary, Henderson, the waiter at the Cheatin’ Heart, etc. around. (Heck, my son’s ex girlfriend is an extra in many scenes, mostly the pub and Chez Rouge, I see her at least once a month…she is actually a contract writer and does it for free.) Remember realism? Sure, maybe they aren’t instrumental to anything but they do give us some variety and a break from the main action. You MUST have that. Even first-run movies do that. I don’t know any writer who could possibly maintain the interest for an hour (even a half-hour) a day only writing for six or even ten people. Hell, they can’t do it even with the large cast they’ve got now, what makes you think they could do a better job with even fewer people. Can anybody name me one hit primetime drama show that has less than 15 (heck, even 20-25) characters per episode.
I see I’m in the minority here but I’m in a very STRONG minority and am very firm in my feelings. I think a lot of reasoning to Billy Warlock’s comments was definitely knee-jerk reactionism and if more thought was given, you might see some of the points I’m making. We are quick to make judgements when we aren’t even in the business but think we have all the answers. I don’t think so…
On another note: As in Patti’s previous words to me, "this is said with all love"…I wish people who write long posts would put a couple of paragraphs in, even if they are not gramatically correct. It makes the posts so much easier to read. Thank you from this old windbag that has a hard time reading long posts. :o) But no trouble writing them!!!

Participantbut would imagine that Ashton could pull it off. I think it’ll be the writing more than the acting that will make him successful or not. If they have a good premise for his character, I think it’ll work.
I wish the show well just because I want Charlie to realize that the world doesn’t revolve around him.
