I haven’t watched since right after they switched out Rafe. Does anyone want to catch me up on the cliff notes’ version of what happened? How did Rafe escape? Why does EJ & Stefano think he is dead and Rafe 2 is gone & Sami is "neutralized?" How did Nicole find out about the whole thing and get proof?
R2 escaped from the psych ward, then the guards that were chasing him saw him fall off a cliff and into the rocky water below, they said noone could survive that. EJ and Stefano think R2 still left town and Sami called EJ telling him that Rafe left her and she needed a few days to herself. I dont think I saw exactly how Rafe escaped the mental ward. hope thats right.
Nicole overheard Viv and Gus talking about someone being in stefano’s jail in the basement, and viv thru away the DNA results that prooved it was Rafe. Now Nicole nows and is blackmailing EJ with it. It has been really good lately!
EJ asked for a divorced, but Nicole is blackmailing him into staying married to her so he cant be with Taylor, EJ promised Taylor that he was divorcing Nikki so that they could be together. I could care less about EJ and TayHore….lol.

Next thing, they showed him running in the woods with ‘new normal clothes saying I’m glad they fit’ or something like that. They never showed where or how he got them – maybe he stole someone’s laundry? lol He wasn’t in great shape and the guards found him but he jumped off the cliff into the rocky water. The guards claimed no one could survive the fall and told Stefano that too. But he did, and then he made his way to a convent where a nun found him and helped him/took care of him. He asked her about the key and she indicated that it could be from some apartment building nearby that was empty. He went there and heard Sami crying. She got angry with him buy he had no idea who she was. He tried to tell her his story of what he remembered but she didn’t believe him until Faux Rafe (2) appeared at the door (Will had told him where the safe house was so he could ‘make-up’ with her). She got to see both Rafes and after listening to Faux’s story of how the Dimeras were making a copy of him (he used all the info that he knew but it sealed his fate as the Faux!). There was a gun and the two Rafes were fighting and Sami got it and shot the faux. He was then tied up and stuck in the bathroom while Sami and Real Rafe reconnected and she got the call from EJ. She set EJ up so he wouldn’t know that both Rafes were there.
So how did real Rafe get in the psych ward? I’m guessing EJ & Stefano got him there somehow? He said he remembered Stefano somehow & being in his basement? I watched a couple episodes from last week. Why does Nicole want to stay married to EJ instead of going after Brady again? What is Viv doing with the info about Rafe?
when he was imprisoned in the jail in the Dimera basement. It was to wipe out his memory. There was a chance that it might not work in which case I’m guessing he would have been killed but they thought it worked as Rafe didn’t know who they were or why he was there. Once they were sure, they had him moved to a private psyche hospital. A guard there loved to torment him. Rafe kept the key that went to the safe house in the bed frame in the Dimera cellar but when they moved him, he took it with them. He knew it was connected to his memories.
Nicole: I’m not sure Brady would have her back after she chose EJ instead of him. She may be similar to Sami in that she wants what she can’t have. She’s mad that he was involved with her sister and lying to her. She loves the kids (Sydney the most and then Johnny and thinks that EJ would not let her see or be with him if they aren’t together). I think she’s also enjoying sticking it to EJ too! She does like the money the Dimera lifestyle can provide too.
Vivian lost her moneybags (Victor) and now she wants the money from Stefano and to be kept in the style she likes. I suspect it is also to stick it to Kate too. Her goon was sniffing around the Dimera mansion looking for info to use to get into Stefano’s good graces when her goon found the jail in the basement. I can’t remember if she found out it was Rafe or if she just got the DNA from whoever was there but it wasn’t providing her with what she wanted so she gave it up. Nicole knew something was up and came across the info she needed through Vivian.
Nicole was starting to fall in love with EJ again. She saw EJ and Taylor kissing and it was after that that EJ told her he wanted a divorce and would allow her access to the kids. This was after she had the evidence that it was Rafe in the basement jail so she’s been blackmailing him that they’re going to be a happy couple for the public. She’s giving him a taste of what he put her through with making her give up Brady but at the same time she’s tormenting her sister by telling her how happy her and EJ are and forcing EJ to tell her they’re going on their honeymoon. She knows EJ can’t tell Taylor why he’s not leaving Nicole. She’s out for revenge and really enjoying sticking it to both of them.
I don’t think she would have done anything with the evidence she has about Rafe…just kind of keep it in her back pocket. But when she saw EJ kissing Taylor and then he wants out, that was the time to lay out her hand.
BTW, Vivian found out it was definitely Rafe in the cell and the DNA test results were what she threw in the trash and Nicole dug out. That’s how Nicole found out.
Actually Vivian didn’t know who the DNA results belonged to so she felt she had nothing and that’s why she threw them away. Nicole dug it out. She had the brains to have them compared to something else that belonged to Rafe and that’s how she found out. Can’t remember if she suspected it was Rafe before she got the results but she knew something was up with the way he’s been acting and the "friendship" that EJ and Rafe have suddenly developed. Plus Rafe had been at the DiMera mansion to talk to EJ a few times which was VERY unusual.
behind the drug business that eventually got Arianna killed and he tells Taylor that EJ killed Arianna. That must be what is going to turn Taylor into the meany they brought Tamara Braun in to portray. I sure hope the writing continues to be this good even after May sweeps are done. Going back to the crud they were throwing at us weeks ago would not be a good thing.
I think Rafe is going to let the DiMera’s think he’s R2. They’ll probably get enough information out of the thug to pull it off plus Rafe is better undercover and can act the part when he wants. Also think they’ll be working with Roman on this. I’m sure he’s going to be getting an earful about the goings on in the DiMera business. If it does happen this way I just hope Sami doesn’t do something spontaneous and Sami like to blow it.
