ParticipantI can’t imagine getting so emotional over an egg that someone else fertilized, grew, and gave birth to. I don’t think I’d have any emotional attachment to it whatsoever. In fact, I don’t think I’d even care if someone else had used my egg and I certainly wouldn’t go looking for some child that I never even knew. After all, an egg is just a cell that women flush down the toilet every month. There sure isn’t much of any concern about them.
And I definitely think that the woman who raised you is your mother. Yes, you have the genes of the other woman but what I guess it all comes down to is what is the definition of a mother? Merriam-Webster defines a mother as: a female parent. And defines a parent as (a) one who begets or brings forth an offspring, and, (b) a person who brings up and cares for another. So…you decide.

ParticipantI thought at first he was Farah’s brother but not if he is going to donate eggs for him. And who would be the surrogate. Is he gay and is that other guy with the facial hair his partner? I guess I missed something somewhere about these two guys. She seems to be very close to him so just wondered what the relationship is there.
Galin went waaaay overboard with that karate stuff. If he’s not careful, he’s going to create a monster there. It doesn’t seem like those boys get any kind of serious disipline. He should have gotten a time-out or something for kicking over that toy, especially after having just punched the lamp. A five-year old should know better than that.

ParticipantShe is just about the most insulting, obnoxious witch one could ever imagine. I can’t believe how she talked to that decorator and then had the nerve to tell Nadia she had hurt HER feelings. OMG! That woman definitely needs to be put in her place. I just wonder how long Brandon is going to be able to tolerate her. I don’t know how a relationship could possibly survive all that.
It looks like next week Nadia is going to confront her about it. She pulls no punches the way she insults people, Nadia ought to take off her kid gloves and let her have it in the same way. I’m afraid if she were my mother, she’d either get a severe warning and some pretty tough rules to follow or she’d be out of my life completely.

ParticipantAnd it’s why they have costume shops. It’s just that it seems more and more are moving away from the home-made costumes and just buying/renting them.
A comment on my trick-or-treaters last night… I think every single kid that came to my door said "thank you" to me and many of them also wished me a happy halloween. Just when you think kids now days are getting worse in their behavior, they do things like this. A couple even commented on my costume and decorations. I guess there’s hope for the next generation after all.
As for my "Scream" costume, I only really scared two kids. They both let out a yell and turned around to leave. One, a boy of about 10, asked me to please take off the mask before he’d come back to the door for his "treat." :o)

Participantis why Daniel is so adamant about not being Maggie’s son? I can understand surprise but he just keeps vehemently denying it as being impossible. I would think he would probably have thoughts of "how can this be?" but coming right out, over and over, saying no, she isn’t my mother, is just plain insulting and hurtful to Maggie. Daniel is a person who would go out of his way to not hurt someone so this is just not in his character at all. Something is going on here.

Participantwhen I lived in California. I had some crocus in my back yard that were very confused. If we’d get a couple of cooler than normal days, a couple of weeks later they’d bloom. They’d sometimes bloom four or five times a year. Crazy crocus!

ParticipantI have a bunch of costumes that I’ve made through the years. I have a Greek goddess, a washer woman (think Carol Burnett), a French maid (of course), a 70s go-go outfit with fringe and all, an 1890s bathing suit and cap, a vampire outfit (with teeth), and tonight I’m wearing my "Scream" mask with my vampire cloak. I have a black light that I hook up by the door so it looks even scarier. Muwhaahaahaa…
A couple of years ago I volunteered at our association’s "Haunted House" with my "Scream" outfit. I was sitting all crooked in a chair like I was not real and when people would come up close, I’d jump up and scream. I really scared the pants off a bunch of people. I had to be careful with little kids though, I’d just say hi to them. There were about six teens that kept coming back and coming back, even though they knew I was real, they wanted to see the action. They told me I was really scary. Ha, they should see me with OUT the mask!!!

ParticipantI’ve never watched either of those shows.

Participantat one time. Hope you can enjoy the beauty without it causing too much grief/problems. Sometimes Mother Nature can be pretty nasty.

ParticipantYou got that right!

ParticipantThere was certainly a lot of sexual tension involved and I thought both actors did a great job. It just seems that when the writers find something interesting to show, they want to make sure we get an overdose of it. I think I’m going to like this pairing of Madison and Brady…Maddy?…Bradison?

Participantso that didn’t make me jump but I sure did when he came through the window. And I’m not easily startled.

Participantso I guess fall has arrived. But former Hurricane Rita just dumped an enormous amount of rain on us yesterday. My pool has an overflow pipe and the rain came down so hard and fast it couldn’t keep up with it and the pool actually overflowed. Fortunately, there is a sewer drain in the back of the yard to handle things like this.
So, sorry about your early snow…I’m just looking forward to when I can turn the A/C off for a little awhile! :o) I remember that stuff from when I lived in Wisconsin and Illinois. We even got a little bit of it once when I was in California. I have a picture of snow on my roses. Glad I don’t have to live with that anymore. Well, it’s not actually the snow I don’t like, it’s the cold that always seems to go along with it.
It’s a shame if it destroyed all the colored leaves as they are one of nature’s most beautiful sights. Just stay safe on the roads, the first snow always seems to cause lots of accidents because people forget how to drive in it.

Participantmine, well one of ’em does, the other one doesn’t care much one way or the other, do the same thing. She won’t go out the door in the morning until she’s convinced I’m safely deposited on the potty too. Then she runs out and right back in to make sure I’m still there.
And when I eat, they are planted directly in front of my feet under the table, although that may have more to do with the possibility of dropping a crumb they can scarf up.
When it’s time to eat she runs in circles all the way into the kitchen (and she KNOWS when it’s time to eat!!!). Yesterday when she was doing it, she whacked her head into the door facing. I could almost see the stars circling around her head.

ParticipantI guessed right for a change. Boy, what a difference their collections were from the peview of the first three. I wonder if that was done on purpose just to make the clothes they showen in the finale better. I would have had a terrible time selecting the winner, I thought they all did fabulous creations. If I had to pick one favorite it would have been Viktor’s white jacket with the pearls on. That was outstanding.
Now I have to start watching the accessories one that came on right after although I missed the first one because I didn’t record it. But I’m sure that won’t make any difference.
I’d like to get into that stuff myself but it takes so darn much money just to buy all the raw materials to make anything at all. Guess I’ll just have to watch the show and live vicariously through those people.
