if I get another robocall asking my political opinion/views, I’m going to toss my phone in the pool…I swear!  They are illegal in Florida except for politics and charities.  I can say without exeration that I have had at least 20 calls, usually at dinner time.  And then add the live person calls I’d probably hit 30.  I’m not even nice to them anymore, I just hang up.

one thing on my face, it’d be those "pucker" wrinkles.  Unfortunately mine WERE from smoking.  Dumb…dumb…dumb!

I don’t know why anybody in this day and age would ever start but they do.

seriously, I’d rather watch grass grow or paint dry than to watch a golf tournament.

I absolutely agree he should have access to AF1 for business purposes.  It’s the private usage I object to, especially for vacations and campaigning.  And I don’t believe all his money is put into trust, only his investments so he has no sway over any decisions that might affect whatever he owns.  He still has his $400,000 salary to spend.  Also, FLOTUS has money.

Term limits make sense to a degree but I think as president you almost spend your first term getting the feel of the job and some things just take a long time to enact.  BUT, we should see something at least beginning to happen during those first four years.  And, we DO have term limits for the president…two.

But we most definitely need election reform.  The problem seems to be that either nobody knows how to do it, or, what they want done is not popular enough to get it enacted.  So many problems in government and so little solutions.  <sigh>

I will say this for Romney though, I think it’s time we have a business man as president.  We’ve had way too many lawyers and I think the country would be run much better as a business than a court case.  You have to admit, Obama really didn’t have much in the way of government running experience when he was elected.  I think he was only elected on his charisma and promises alone.

Lastly, and I’ve said this many times before, I think the success of a man as president depends so very much more on the people he selects to surround himself with than the man himself.  Regan was a perfect example of that.

they didn’t let her go, Lisa left because she is going to do a talk show so maybe they must have something in store for Billie and need Julie to fill in.  But that’s okay with me, I liked her.

and Yvette but I think they are two different people.  They should have used a different name for Santos’ lady.

I think $400,000 a year when you have absolutely NO expenses is not a bad wage, however, I would not debate that corporate CEO’s earn much more.

I don’t mind them taking a vacation occasionally but they should pay their own expenses, or, as you say, go to Camp David.  How many people go on big extravagant vacations more than once a year?  Some only get to go once in a lifetime.

You are right, it’s not AFO unless POTUS is on it, but it’s still the same plane and expenses.  That reminds me, Air Force One is absolutely one of my Top Ten favorite movies.  (Harrison Ford being in it doesn’t hurt any! )  I have to watch it every time it comes on.  I could probably recite the dialog by now.

It seems to be the person who can raise the most campaign funds is the one who gets the nomination.  And I strongly object to the president spending so much of OUR money campaigning.  Just taking out Air Force One costs an enormous amount of money…in the MILLIONS.  I understand he has to campaign but it just seems that the country suffers during all that time he’s out stumping and not doing his job…plus…doing it on our dime.

I saw a special on TV one night about what it costs the taxpayers when the president takes a trip.  I had NO idea of the enormous expense.  (I’m not talking about Obama, although he seems to do it excessively, but any president.)  With all the pre-planning, checking out locations, routes, food preperation, traffic control for the motorcades (the entire route is shut down), hotels, all the secret service personnel, then add the cost shipping, staffing, and maintaining all his the cars, lodgings (always very opulent), food for everybody (including press), and of course not just one but two huge 747s and several helicopters.  Everytime he goes somewhere there are six helicopters and two identical AF Ones dispatched so nobody knows just which one he is on.

I believe the president is entitled to this while on official business but not for vacations, personal trips, or campaigning…NOR letting the wife and family use AF One when they decide to go somewhere without him.  They should pay their own way then.

we ought to eliminate the parties but I don’t know how elections would work then, I mean, getting the candidates on the ballot.  Politics has just become so complex I don’t think it CAN be reformed.  We have created a monster.

I fell asleep reading today (which I do often) and it came to me in a dream.  I used baking SODA instead of baking POWDER.  Can’t believe it did it twice though.  Good Lord, I hate getting old.

PS:  I ALWAYS use butter, I’m a Wisconsin girl.  My husband used to say I’d eat s*** if I could butter on it.  Hmmm…  Actually, I used to use shortening but I don’t buy it anymore because, living alone, I don’t use enough of it and it gets rancid.  Plus, the trans-fats, ya know.  If I’m going to have clogged arteries, I rather clog them with butter.  :o)

I think Ian forged the letter to get the ball rolling on whole plan and that Alice never wrote any kind of letter at all.  Of course it does leave it open for the writers to come up with something different sometime in the future and then refer back to this one.

And I wish they would stop trying to use blood testing to prove parentage.  A father and son do not have to have the same blood type.  In fact, I’m so surprised that EJ didn’t insist on a DNA test (which in Salem is practically worthless anyway the way they get switched around) when Stefano told him he wasn’t his biological son.

Thanks.  I haven’t paid much attention to what goes on in Mass.  But, you’ve got to admit, a lot of what you mentioned applies to most politicians.  Especially the part about promising something they don’t deliver.  I believe ALL of them make campaign promises because it’s what people want to hear.
