She is such a character!  For years now we’ve all watched her – hoping against hope that Sami would finally grow into a woman, seeing that in spite of having four children, she’s more of a child than her oldest at times…Ahhhhh Sami – you would surprise us all if you would just excel in maturity by even just five little years on your chronological age.  I think when Sami is Mrs. H’s age, she will be the same flighty personality…

show…as much as I was not a fan of "Mia’s" I’m sure the actress will be around for quiet awhile developing her talent (as she is very young).

then those so-called doctors shouldn’t be practicing medicine girlfriend!  Good grief! I was shocked when I read your post.  My medical list is a mile and a half long too but the doctor’s with the sheepskins on a wall should see any patient!  If not, they should become dentists!

I would think that the doctors in the smaller areas would be more open to patients more so than the big cities, like Chicago…another scary thing coming is that if you think it’s tough to find a doctor now and you have to wait three days to get an appointment, wait until 40 million more people are in the health care system…all of this and more is coming down the road at us!

Soapnet central has him divorced from Nicole…married in 04/09 divorced 03/ 10 – I thought it was last year though but because of Salem’s time warp syndrome – it may have not been finale.

$3.00 a piece!!! Bonbon remember that when you go in next week!  If anything and everything is being "stimulated" and bailed out by this government – why not give money to the drug companies for R&D?  We have the greatest health care in the world (for the next few months anyway), when this new HC kicks in – I think research and development is going to fly out the window.  No new cancer fighting drugs, no nothing going to be developed.

And you are going to think I am crazy…but I’m going to draw this parallel anyway…when the government got involved in telling the steel and manufacturing plants what to do, they just all went away – anybody see a lot of steel plants since the 1970’s?  We don’t make televisions, toasters, etc., anymore, so when this  2000+ page law hits the fan in 2014 for health care…where is our health care going?  I truly believe that we will have care like Canada/European countries do, but then why do they now all come here for their medical?

and yes, the goobenator did a lot of stuff to mess it and the rest of the state up…and "Moonbeam" is trying to get back in the game too, so you might as well write us off at the Sierras.   You’re lucky!  You got out of the once and proud golden state while you could!  Now it’s just a cesspool…

The HMO’s remain the same, but anyone living in a "rural" area, i.e., not Sacramento, the Bay Area, LA, San Diego, etc., all had to go on a PPO with all the BS (and I’m not talking bunny shins), that went came with it, especially with the higher $$$$ costs.

and scary too.  I used to have an HMO ten years ago, but then they (CALPERS), decided we were "rural", even though there are 100,000 people in the town and more in the little surrounding bergs, and we are 25 miles from the capital. which is pretty big.  So they put us on a PPO, cranked up the premiums per year, increased the prescription costs  – (doubled of what it cost HMO folks just 25 miles a way), tacked on an annual $500 per family member deductable, increased the doctor’s office visit payments by 75%…they said but you don’t have to be referred by your physician to a specialist….let me tell you something, every specialist wants a referral from your primary care physician – they will not see you at all with out a referral.  I’m more worried every day when I see this kind of stuff that you guys have bee writing about and what is coming…

I know my doctor is a wonderful physician and when I go see her (for seven years now) – I spend 45 minutes with her, not the five minutes the doctor I saw before her gave me before saying "next!" (I felt like I was on an assembly line with him).

My doctor now is in total agreement with us as she says many physicians do not want to give up the relationships and medical well care of their patients to this government health care.  They have no choice in the matter either, it’s either, do what the PTB HC says or be fined – when she told me what the fines were I was shocked!  In that 2,000+ so called health care bill -it says a doctor can be fined for one patient starting out at $18,000!!!! for not handing over medical records and it goes up from there.   I worked for the government 30 years, believe me, I do not want some government bureaucrat knowing if I have a gall bladder or not…that’s between who I decide to share that information with, my doctor and God.

Medical bills are going sky high, the insurance companies are racking up the $$$’s because they aren’t the ones who are going to be hurt in this fiasco…it’s the people.  I had EKG/blood work done for a procedure in April and because the surgeon had to go out of town and my surgery was delayed for over seven days, the tests had to be redone…yet first results turned out outstanding with no problems…it’s all about money, money, money.  I’d rather have good reliable health care but the doctor’s have to cover their collective keisters by ordering all the tests in case some tort lawyer says they didn’t use a big enough bandaid.  I think though that we are going to long for these days of the health care like it is now instead of what’s coming down the pike…i.e., no health care at all after age 50ish or if you have pre-exsisting.

Heck, I just picked up a medication that my physician prescribed for me for a slight kidney infection that was giving me a back ache: good grief – there is a four page (no joke) warning sheet that goes with it…can cause seizures, dizzyness, swelling of lips, face, etc., rapid heartbeat, and it goes on and on and on – wonder if the cure is worse than the symptoms.  It’s suppose to be antibiotic, but the side effects of this stuff is scary.  It’s even suppose to be good if you breath anthrax germs when you read in the fine print for goodness sake! What every happened to a simple little antibiotic drug?  When I first read the warnings I was really tempted to call my doctor and say – "ahhhhh how about just plain ol’ cranberry juice instead?"

Good luck and God bless on your surgery next week!  We all will be waiting for ya to get back on line with us when you are feeling better!

see my doctor in two weeks, will ask her if she has anymore info to share.  I think we’re all in trouble in our old age (and maybe much younger)…there is a curve that Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, health adviser to the PTB, he has written extensively about who should get medical care, who should decide, and whose life is worth saving (Google him for more info on this – Ezekiel Emanuel blames the Hippocratic Oath for the ‘overuse’ of medical care.)

[mccaughey] "Principles for Allocation of Scarce Medical Interventions" The Lancet, January 31, 2009

So true about other countries health care, that’s why everyone comes here.  I say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  I think Mel and the little nurse at St. Mary’s open discussion of a patient is only the beginning of bad medical practices either in Salem or real life.

Maybe this is so near and dear to me, because I’m going to the downside of his curve because of my age, yet I planned and paid for my health care specifically for my old age all my working life.

On the plus side, maybe I should move to Salem, people come back from the dead there all the time, they must have great health care! ;)
