Participantthink they are being "hip and cool" or whatever is the vernacular of the day. Kate is a refined (well, now she is – maybe not when she was a hooker), lady and I don’t think she would ever use that term willingly. That would be like the writers having the late, great Mrs. Horton say – "Yo mama!" Just not believable. Get with it writers – we can only take so much weirdness in the show from you. If it detracts from the story line and when strange wording by the characters makes us think about gangbangers and street talk which has nothing to do with the story lines – it’s not a good reflection on your prose or prowess at a writer.

Participantdid with the chicken – #2 no-no in a kitchen – #1 being wash your hands! Remember that other lady Aussie chef who got chopped for throwing the extra food on the floor instead of the garbage? And when the chefs cut themselves and then wear those clear bloody gloves – (I always say well, this show is aptly named). But then I’m a germaphobic when it comes to clean in the kitchen. I won’t use a wooden chopping block. I’m sure we’d all be hurling if we saw what really goes on in even the finest of restaurants or even our local hamburger dive or food processing plant. My mother worked as a bookkeeper in her forty’s in a food processing plant and to this day (she’s 83) she will not eat ketchup.

Participantyou gave on explaining that one – like ripping off a bandaid. If I was just coming into the story line and didn’t know- I would be going WTH???? How? Why? Who? When? What the heck????

ParticipantSydney is theirs or is she going to stay with Brady? That could open up a whole new interesting twist with the story. Sydney, a DeMera, being raised in a Kyriakis house? Stefano would blow a gasket.

Participanther arms after the kidnapping something like "I will never let you out of my arms (sight?) again…" How many minutes has Sami spent with Sydney and all the kids since?
I know there are "off screen/story areas that she is spending time with her children and it’s implied – but given that Sami’s favorite line is "It’s for my kids" or "I’m doing this for my children" – something smells like bad cheese by having her not shown on screen with her children much – it just doesn’t seem real her being a loving mother, more like a loving monster with the way Will is turning out.
He is just so much like her – now he said in Friday’s show – when he was considering looking into Ari’s purse at the pub…"it’s for my mother" – Wow – shades of Sami!

ParticipantI couldn’t for the life of me think where I’d heard his name – I never watched the show that Bonbon said "Crosswords" but did watch Lisa – she was always my favorite "Billie". Thanks for clearing that up ladies!

Participantand see that. I did think the actress who played Kinsey – was great – she was an nasty little character but the actress really did her lines well and did great when delivering them. Since most of her scenes were at the coffee shop, I attributed her meaness as drinking too much caffine at the Java Cafe – she was teeth grinding! Her "boyfriend" or "boy friend" who played with her in the past was a good actor too. I didn’t like a daily dose of the teenyboppers but these two were just a bit "different" to make them watchable in little doses. Give them both a little cream and sugar and bring them back.

Participantby the cooks mini-bios that they do as they are walking in to cook…I never knew or else never noticed that most chef’s have a ginormous ego – they are just all full of themselves…not just on the show Chopped but on the other cooking shows also…it’s all well and good to know that one is great in one’s career/calling/or profession but man-o-man some of these chef’s are like over the top! I usually root for the more humble person that the in your face personality.
Yes, I did watch the Halloween episode – amazing what they can do with ingrediants that don’t match, are weird and frankly plain ol’ yuckie!

Participanteven though they have been just "fluff" characters for so long (and as long as I’ve been watching Days) – Julie and Doug!!! I know they don’t want to act as much anymore (at least from what I’ve heard) but I’d love to see them in more of a story line too! Just bring back all the "golden" oldies and I’d be happy!

Participantsend someone home…I like Chef Tio best also, she seems to be consistent and inovative with her food. I also don’t think Chef Ming will win even if he’s had his own cooking show for the last 15 or so years too – (PBS), but good cook. The guy with the Mohawk (can’t remember his name either) is great. I think the hot guy from Texas (big guy who looks like a linebacker but can cook like a ballerina is what Alton said), was on Chopped too but he didn’t win. But he can cook as well as look good. Forgeon is good too. Heck at this point it’s a toss up!

Participantwas that just an implied relationship or were they an actual couple on the show? I’ve only been watching for 20 years so that may have been before my time. When I saw Celeste on the show at first, Stefano hadn’t been named as Lexies father. I’d love Celeste to come back to Salem too – she was always fun to watch and she could rival Kate in the fashion department for sure.
John and Marlena better be in the top five! Along with Jack and Jenifer. And Tom and Mrs. H of course. Bo and Hope also! So that leaves one slot open…hmmmmm Patch and Kayla?

ParticipantWe have to eat so it might as well be fun to cook – even if it’s just pork n’ beans in this economy or steak on the barbie! And so fun to try new recipes. The only reason I knew plantains had to be cooked is because I watch ELR (Everybody Loves Raymond) and they had an episode that talked about plantains. Both of your recipes sound yummy! Now for those of us who haven’t tried them…do they taste like bananas?

ParticipantAllison is on every show on t.v. that I can think of these days (well, a lot of them anyway). Love Iron Chef and Next Iron Chef too.
