Participanton PBS too – Celtic Women sing Christmas songs and then they have guys that sing Christmas songs from Ireland too. About 7 years ago at Christmas time Walmart had a Christmas CD (3 package) from various artists with all the great Christmas music like you mentioned Luckey and the day after Thanksgiving every year I turn off talk radio and play those in my car until New Years. Gets me in the mood for maintaining peace and love through all the traffic and hustle and bustle. And yes, even at my age, I catch Frosty and Charlie Brown Christmas – they’ve been on for a zillion years but are such classics!

ParticipantTAAAAADAAAAAAAAAAAA – just add water and look: instant brother! I know my memory is totally croaked now but seriously friends, I do not ever recall even a mention of a brother…
Wonder if the writer’s just wrote him as a walk on patient for a Nathan "doctoring" scene and then said to themselves "OH My! We have a family member – look at the resemblance…" I’m sure he will be a detective or work at the Pub or be a rich tycoon that never works or be carrying on an affair with any number of people in Salem in just a few short days/weeks/months after he shows up.
And no, I will not give them a break on this. I am not being kind, shutting my eyes to the normally weird stuff in the story lines, characters who don’t do normal things even what passes for "normal" in Salem, to Day’s anymore. I have invested 20 years in them, sat through tons of bunnyshin stuff…put up with it all and I am still here, but I fear that I am getting to the end of my days with Days.

Participantbut the truth of why she left Parker alone already to go out on a date is a stupid thing when she was just saying something about how much she loved being a mother…
I could see the point about the ZZZZ’s if Daniel was working and she needed some sleep time to be right there and have Maggie babysit while she got some well deserved rest. Lot’s of Mom’s do that – have relatives or friends stay with them the first six weeks or so.
But this isn’t the case with Chloe. Barbie Mom (as I am intending on calling her from now on…) needed date time. I predict the next time we see her she will be thrashing in bed in a negligee with Danny – wasn’t that always suppose to be a four to six week wait time to after a baby?
Like I mentioned before Parker will be stowed away until he’s of age and Chloe doesn’t have to mess with him – I would have hoped that the writers would have been more realistic with Chloe and her child given her own childhood history.

Participantcome true, but as you said Wake Up darlin’ the writer’s are never going to allow such a nice wrap up to one of their stories from hell. Another perk for me to your story line is that Brady will not be involved with Nicole and he can move on to someone nice (persuant to the writers reverting him to Mr. Nice guy once again).

Participantas well as GK Chesterton’s writings – I’ll have to see if they are on Audible.com too. Would be interesting to see how they would do either of these. Especially since the Narnia series is out in movie form now.

Participanton sale – did you hear about it? And they say they have 1.8 million free (pre-1923 copy right) books – lot’s of classics there.

Participantfor myself for quiet a while now as my eyes can’t handle books anymore – even with a good prescription for eyeglass and BIG print books. My good friend got a B&N Nook for her BD in Oct. and she loves it (she got a color version recently). I also heard that book stores are going out of business left and right because of all the EReaders. Amazon does have a lot of free classic’s that can be downloaded. Think B&N does too – there are several EReaders out on the market now but Kindle and Nook are leaders in features and selection of their books from what I’ve researched.
In the meantime, I discovered Audible.com – you can download books onto Ipod, computer, or burn CD’s etc. of audible books – I like that because I can listen to it at night before I fall asleep – just like reading a book. But you can turn out the light and listen to them – book mark where you left off, things like that. The price isn’t bad either for the books (you don’t pay for Audible), they have different levels of pricing, depending on how many books you purchase but so far I’ve gotten newer books for $4.95 and best sellers for $7.95 – and they are yours forever just like a book. They have some freebies too. I just got O’Henry Christmas tale for a Christmas present from Audible. I have a ton of books as I would rather read than breath I think, and I guess with the exception of my Bible, I will give them to friends, or donate to charity. There’s only one set from my favorite author Dianna Gabaldon and her "Outlander" series that I would keep for my hard cover books, but I’ve already started downloading her books on Audible too.
My worst nightmare is like in the first Twilight Zone episode called "Time Enough At Last" where this bookworm just wants to read, and work, a naggy wife, a mean boss will not give him time to read. Then the "H" bomb goes off and he’s (for him) in a perfect world, all the food, no one around to bug him and a library to do what he wants to do – Read…then the twist comes…he breaks his glasses. Maybe we need to get writers on Day’s to take the storylines to a half an hour like Rod Serling did…LOL!

Participantwrapped up in four to six weeks from inception to finish but they just keep cranking out repeat dialogs, the same old arguments…look how long they left Vivian in the coffin, just for one little example. These SL’s tend to make us all scream at the length of the time it takes to unfold – and wrap up!

ParticipantI say "reality" very loosley as I don’t think many of them are based on reality at all. So much of the individual show is contrived with a planned plot. I think this is cyclical. The advertisers and writers come up with one show (as you indicated Bonbon) and poof, there are 101 other shows trying to emulate it – many without success.
Remember when there were a million comedies (and we know how you love those laugh tracks, eh Bonbon?), then there was the "hero in tights" Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman phase, how about all the westerns that used to be on – Rawhide, Bonnaza, Wild Wild West, etc., and then there are the four hundred zillion or so cop shows that were on like Hill Street Blues – et al, and if you go wayyyyyyyyy back – all the singing/variety shows (before American Idol and after Ed Sullivan?)…now there are entire networks dedicated to a particular genre.

Participantas well as the divorce dockets – people tend to use children as "pawns" – and EJ learned chess from Stefano.

Participantcontracts and huge insurance libility that they will not take unnecessary risks to their faces, bodies, because when they are on a hit show – that costs the advertisers money if the stars are unable to act, hence the "C" list "stars" because they don’t have a contract and need work???

Participanthow "much time" Nicole did for her crimes…if I ever become a bad guy I want to be in Salem when I do. No retribution or punishment at all.
