think she is fooling.  She doesn’t want to leave the mansion because she wants E.J. and her excuse that her kids need to be with their father is baloney.

I loved Julie talking to her and trying to talk some sense in to Sami.  As usual, Sami is too stupid to get the message.  She wants E.J. and she wants Rafe also.  Sami just doesn’t understand that she could exist without a man and be independent and raise her children and be happy.   The term "single mom" bugs me.

to her.  Wait until she finds out that he was jailed with Shane by Stefano/Ej’s goons!  Maybe that will make her wake-up to the evil ways of the Dimera family.  I liked the Will conversation better with him being warned about Stefano and his familia.

trying to talk some sense into Sami.  This is what the show has been missing, the family connection, everybody sticking their nose into everybody else’s business. Now I can’t wait for Kayla to come back and read Stephanie the riot act for her little trick she tried to pull on Nathan.

    In soaps, ever, is ASS/U/ME – ing…

Sami "ass/u/mes" that Rafe has just left her and is ignoring her.

Daniel "ass/u/mes" that whatever is bugging Chloe is no big deal.

Back a few years ago, Jack "ass/u/med" that Jen couldn’t handle the truth that he was ill/dying, whatever that was…

Everybody ass/u/mes everything about everyone and everything then gets screwed up and they all look like… well… asses.

It’s old, it’s tired…kind of like me.  Come up with something new, please, writers!

There are so many tired plots – I read one time that there are only about *seven story lines that are written in Hollywood that changed to varying degrees…I think Day’s keeps it to a minimum of two – boy gets girl, boy looses girl…

    *1 [wo]man vs. nature, 2 [wo]man vs. man, 3 [wo]man vs. the environment, 4 [wo]man vs. machines/technology,

    5[wo]man vs. the supernatural, 6 [wo]man vs. self , 7 [wo]man vs. God/religion

As far back as I can remember this has happened.

Julie got burned and scared by an oven explosion and she "assumed" what was best for Doug and what he would want without talking to him and this kept them apart for years.

Fast forward to a few years ago.  Chloe got scarred in a car accident and "assumed" Brady wouldn’t want her so she faked her own death.

Chloe "assumed" Daniel and Carly were having an affair so she had sex with Phillip who "assumed" Melanie and Nathan were having an affair

And as you said Sami "assumed" Rafe is out of contact because of her.  Not once thinking he wouldn’t purposely do that to his family.  Hope "assumed" Bo moved on with Carly because he doesn’t love her anymore without looking at how she pushed him away time and time again.  Ari "assumes" Brady doesn’t love her enough even though he tells her over and over again and wants to marry her.  Ari "assumes" Brady thinks she’s guilty of the attacks even though he tells her over and over again that he believes her.  Nicole "assumes" Brady will be hers once Ari is out of the way.

    etc….etc…etc…

and she simply cannot be without a man in her life.  But, I will never believe she is in love with E. J.  She is attracted to him … who wouldn’t be … but she is not in love with him.  But, when I see her with Rafe, I believe she is truly in love, and that’s where they have improved her.  She’s not plotting ways to get him by faking pregnancies, stealing babies, drugging him, blackmailing him, or any of the other atrocities she has pulled on men and women in her past to get what she wants.  Rafe doesn’t manipulate her; he just truly loves her, with all of her faults, and when she is with Rafe, she IS a better person.  She may not win any mother of the year awards, and she will probably continue to shoot herself in the foot until Sydney has children of her own some day, but I really do see a better coupling with her and Rafe, and hope that when they finally do reconnect, I don’t have to sit back and watch a manipulative bunch of ridiculous threatening b/s by the DiMeras to split them up in hopes of pushing her back to E.J.  Sami and E.J. are not now, nor will they ever be, right for each other.  Admittedly, they do, indeed, have a tremendous amount of chemistry between them; unfortunately, in their case, all it will lead them to is eventually blowing themselves up.

You wrote just how I feel about Sami, but put it into words much better! :)  I don’t think Sami is evil or a complete idiot, I think she’s just confused.  Yes she seems to need a man in her life, but how many of us don’t?!  She is insecure and makes a lot of mistakes, but it seems like she’s trying to be a good person and do what she thinks is right (even if that’s wrong more often!).  I loved when Julie hugged her and told her that she had the love of the right man and she hoped that for Sami, too.  I cried because that’s what Sami has always craved and I feel SO bad for her!

Chloe gets the blue ribbon in this event – she is such an idiot it’s hard to believe!  She needs Nancy on the scene to set her straight.
