I would take the feeling good over looking good any day.  But I think the most important one is your mental health.  I’m starting to see friends decline in that area and it’s kind of scary.  In fact the scariest thing for me is having a stroke.  In seconds you can go from a perfectly functioning human being to a totally dependent, piece of flesh.  That is so scary.

That happened to my brother and he couldn’t speak, walk, feed himself, go to the bathroom or communicate in any way.  I used to look at him and think that he knew what was going on but just couldn’t participate.  Can you imagine how frustrating that would be?  When you have thoughts and needs and can’t let anybody know what they are.

at 92 and even at 90 she was driving and going shopping and garage sailing. She exercised faithfully every day and was a bit underweight. The only surgery she ever had was an appendectomy. And no one in her family lived nearly that long. I would love to follow in her footsteps!

So true.  My friend’s husband is only in his late thirties and he had two strokes already.  They were relatively minor but no one knows what caused them or if it could happen again.  Your health really is the most important thing.
