I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the show for I was laughing so hard from Sami’s comment to John "I’ve always been a hands on Mother" Yeah she hands the kids over to the first available baby sitter!
trying to help her by telling her THE TRUTH. He understands how she must feel, and she keeps making it a personal attack. Well, at least she admitted that he was ‘probably’ right. No, Sami, not ‘probably’ … more like definitely, so STHU and PAY ATTENTION when people are trying to help you, although a complete loss of everything in life you claim to love may be the best thing that could happen to you right now.
Sami’s reaction shows that she was very defensive to John’s words. She immediately assumed that he was critizing her. In my opinion, Sami reacted this way because deep down she feels the same way. She constantly says that she has no choice because she needs the money. She doesn’t realize that she is insinuating that Rafe is not doing his job of providing for the family.
John is trying to explain that he now knows that working isn’t the most important thing in this life—being there for your kids is. Truth is Sami is loving this job. She feels fulfilled and there is nothing wrong with that. She can work and still take care of her kids, millions of women do it everyday. She just needs to get organized and stop complaining.
She’s feeling the ever so popular mommy guilt. Then her step dad, whom she’s never been that crazy about, tells her that her kids need her. I would have taken some offense to that as well.
I didn’t completely understand what John was talking about when he was saying he was the one making lunches when Sami was little and Marlena was gone. Was he comparing them to Sami and Rafe? I don’t remember how Sami felt about John back then.
It kind of felt to me like John was saying Sami should feel bad because she didn’t plan her own child’s party. Rafe is essentially a father to the kids, why should she feel bad because her husband is picking up a little slack? That’s what all families do from time to time.
this recent hatred toward John. When Sami and Eric were growing up, they loved John. Even after they found out he wasn’t Roman. I can’t quite remember exactly when she started disliking him. Was it when she saw him and Marlena on the conference table or when she found out that Belle was his and not Roman’s?
