I remember when they use to change actors and they’d announce when the new actor was scene for the first time "The roll of So&So is now being played by So&So" Or when they filmed close to or on the air date and an actor was sick they’d say "the roll of So&So is temporarily being played by So&So"
an occasional tempertantrum but I’d love for them to mellow EJ for awhile and let Stefano get in command of the bad guys again…he was so durn good at being bad.

However, guess Peter really did let the cat out of the bag first. I’m very surprised about JKJ, but I had a feeling SH would be leaving, since the writers were certainly not giving her any good material to work with, and I hate the character of Stephanie, but SH is a very good actress and deserved better than these writers were giving her. JKJ is shocking to me, because there is so much left unsaid and undone with his character. I wonder, now, if Melanie will, at some point lose their baby and this is what makes Philip decide to leave Salem, because he will blame himself. Lots of changes going down in Salem. I also heard on the news this a.m. that it is official …. COMCAST bought NBC, so wonder what the result of that will be as far as DOOL is concerned. If they keep it, maybe they’ll put it on another COMCAST owned network, or leave it on NBC and put in on as a series for ON DEMAND.
I hate to see these two characters go. They were dating in real life, I wonder if they made the decision together? I liked the two of them together as a couple despite their problems…I just wished they were given a better sl together, never believed Melanie the teenager was the love of his life! Stupid Stupid!
The writters went off on a binge changing so many personalities! Even my daughter said she didn’t recognize the show anymore…sweet innocent Melanie? Nathan the love of Stephanie’s life? and Melanie’s? Caroline Brady the computer wiz turned evil? Kayla the vindictive? Bo moving on without Hope! Hope trying to kill Bo! Brady burying Vivian? I don’t know…but the show is centering around Melanie so much it seems. No wonder Shelly & Jay wanted out! I hope Chloe’s baby turns out to be Daniel’s after all! I like them together, and Melanie’s is a false alarm. Glad Nathan is leaving…And I’m all for John & Marlena to return….if possible.
I love Philip. Also no other actor should be recast. The last one was so horrible. JKJ is Philip. Good riddance to Stephanie. No more weak women. I’m sure the actress will do marvelous on another show. However I hope this departure does not mean less screen time for Caroline.
and it said that they both wanted to pursue other interests so they decided to leave. Since it isn’t storyline dictated, it sounds like they will most likely recast the characters. It also indicated that they are leaving right at the beginning of pilot season which is when most young actors hope to get cast in nighttime shows. We know they pay better and get more recognition for nighttime shows.
that JKJ and Shelley were dating in real life. Honestly, I liked them together on Days much better than anyone they’ve been paired with since Phillip and Stephanie have been apart. I thought Phillip was too mature for Melanie and Stephanie was too whiney and clingy with the other guys she’s been with. Phillip lit a fire under her that the writers screwed up when they had her get kidnapped. Why oh why?
I bet you are right – was just thinking that. Like Lucas going to work in Japan or wherever he is. Will not miss Stephanie AT ALL! Nathan is also leaving town. So where does this leave Chloe? I love JKJ – will miss him!
you’re not being fair to Chloe. She has only had four men in her life. First Philip in high school, then Brady, then Philip again briefly, then Lucas, and finally Daniel. For a girl her age, I don’t think that’s that many.
I don’t think it’s the fact that she’s only had 4 or going from man to man it’s that she’s still in a relationship with 1 when she goes to the other man. Then she’s all upset when she’s found out. The thing is, most women on Days have had several relationships and have gone from man to man. Hope though she’s only had 3 and you can say she wasn’t in her right mind with John, look how fast she ran to Patrick at the first sign of trouble with Bo. Carly, was engaged to Lawrence (OK, it was pre-arranged) and hooked up with Bo, was still with Bo when she chose Lawrence then while married to Lawrence she had a one night stand with Daniel. Julie had her share of men before her and Doug hooked up. Maggie, years ago had an affair with someone while married to Mickey. Billie when she was on had Bo, and Bo, and Bo, (most while he was married to Hope) and Nick when she knew her daughter was interested in him. Kate’s had Bill, Victor, Roman, John, Stefano. Marlena slept with John while married to Roman and then with Roman while married to John (I understand they’d been held as Stefano’s prisoners but she was still married AND Roman was married to Kate at the time.), Stephanie had Jeremy, Max, Phillip, Nathan and now I’m wondering who’s next on her radar. It’s no wonder everyone in Salem is related with all the sleeping around everyone does.
I think the only one one in the history of the show that only had one man was Alice. Even Caroline had an affair or ONS with Victor while married to Shawn.
They just can’t let a male/female relationship be just friends, they always have to end up in bed together.
I think Kate’s got a lot of nerve calling her a whore though since she literally was one.
