Soap Opera Digest is reporting that both Shelley Hennig (Stephanie) and Jay Kenneth Johnson (Philip) will be leaving the series behind.
to Phillip and his dimples going!!! Jay left once before didn’t he? Tough job, acting – maybe he just didn’t want to cut his hair???
I like that Stephanie is going, but I don’t want Philip to go! I want him and Chloe to get back together and raise baby Parker together. It seems like at this point, there will be no characters left in the young adult age range, just Chloe and Melanie.
@53tdogs, Jay did get his hair cut, Molly Burnett who plays Melanie posted a picture of him with his hair cut on her twitter.
I couldn’t care less what they do with Stephanie, but Phillip is right in the middle of a pretty big storyline. What are they going to do? He’s fathered Chloe’s baby and now Melanie is pregnant. That would make him pretty despicable if he left now. Not only that, he’s such a good looking guy, please say it isn’t so!
I would prefer neither of them leave, as I don’t like the revolving door the actors do. If they would get rid of some of the lower paid staff and bring back John and Marlena, even at a lesser salary, THAT would be okay! Hey, some money is better than NO money! I don’t care what you THINK you are worth. Ya gotta have a buyer to pay that price or you have to drop the price!!
Stefano mellowing in his "old" age, I think J&M would have a great life straightening up all the crazy Salemites!
I wish Phillip wouldnt go!!! Where does this leave Chloe now that Phillip is leaving? Does this mean Melanie really wont be pregnant? or she’ll loose the baby? I guess that means Philip is going to abandon another child? and I guess we wont get to enjoy his new hair cut for that long .
I wont miss Stephanie! How long is Kayla supposed to stick around this time?that Brady succeeds in taking control of Titan out from under Vivian and he’s not too quick about giving control back to Victor. Wondering now if Brady and his power somehow transfers Phillip to Titan Headquarters in another part of the world. His way of protecting Melanie.
there will be no Phillip. In the past, they have kept the character with a new actor. That could still happen this time too.
I don’t think Stefano is mellow at all, maybe a little better at hiding his dark side, but definitely not mellow. DaysCafe even reported something about this saying his old enemies would all be surprised. I’m not sure if this is referring to the organ theft storyline or something else they’re planning.
I’m crushed!!!!! Why couldn’t they get rid of Vivian. Her character has grated on my last nerve since her return. With Brady taking Titan back and Viv giving Victor a divorce, what is her purpose? Also, Kate won’t have any kids in town to meddle with–I’m so upset!!!!
I don’t see them replacing him with Jay in the role one day and someone else the next. Since Phillip is such a known character and JKJ has been in that role off and on for years I could see them sending him off for a while then bringing him back with another actor in the role like they before. He went joined the Marines then when he came back there was another actor in the role. When JKJ was coming back the had Phillip go off again and came back with a new face.
as we were watching. He was in the shower, turned around and it was a different actor. So I guess they could do it if they want. I just can’t see how they can continue without Philip. He is integral to so much of the show. And I will certainly miss those cute little dimples and that gorgeous smile!
They also changed Lisa Rinna’s Billie the very next day too.
Don’t go, Jay, please don’t go.
I hope he doesn’t leave (at all) but not before I see his hair cut for sure.
