Is the new set…Rafe and Sami’s new home…the resurrected set of Rex and Mimi’s apartment? It’s brighter than before, but everything else is very familiar, including the elevator landing.
from Brandon’s old apartment as well as Mimi’s and Shawn when they lived together and possibly part of the "safe" house. Save money – recyle? New motto on Day’s sets?
Yep, thats exactly what I thought it was as soon as they got off the elevator and walked in. that it was Mim and Rex’s old apt across from Belle and Shawns loft.
Yesterday Sami said that Rafe got their stuff out of storage for the new apartment. What stuff? That is modern Ikea looking stuff. It’s not from Sami and Lucas’s apartment it’s not from Marlena’s place. Where did the stuff come from? Maybe she just meant clothes and stuff but wouldn’t that all have been at the DiMansion?
"flooded" in Marlena’s old digs – and also, at the DiMansion, all of the furniture was Stephano’s. I don’t think Sami has really ever owned her own stuff…she’s like Blanch DuBois in Streetcar Named Desire – "(always living)…off the kindness of strangers…"!
Maybe she had some stuff in storage from BEFORE or childhood momentos that Marlena or someone put in storage for her when she was in witness protection, moved to the DiMera’s or that were undamaged in the flood but Marlena had them moved to storage when she sold the apartment.
I know I’m grasping here but I had stuff in storage for 5 years when I moved form Chicago to Alabama and a lot was household, kitchen items, family photos and things I’ve had since I was a child that I never wanted to get rid of.
I’m sure it was the same set used for the locker room at the gym, when Sami jumped Rafe’s bones and tried to get him to tell her not to marry E.J. I remember that blue door that was used as lockers from that set. Now it’s Sami’s and Rafe’s front door.
I don’t think it’s supposed to be Shawn’s old apartment. That place didn’t have the huge windows that Rafe and Sami’s new place have. It’s definitely cannibalized from the safehouse and Shawn’s old place though. The hallway and elevator too.
I missed Sami moving into her last place before moving to the DiMansion. Was that supposed to be Marlena’s penthouse? I thought everyone kept referring to her living at Marlena’s, but it didn’t look anything like it. Marlena’s was big, open and had the large staircase in the back. The place Sami was living in was much smaller and had no staircase visible. Did I miss something?
And DeeLan, are you still in Alabama? I’m down in L.A. (lower Alabama!) near the Gulf, on the Bay.
with the exception of the electricity going out or a politician pre-empt. but I also don’t think that was Marlena’s place…I seem to remember Marlena saying something about remodeling (?or is that a figment of my imagination) but when my beloved John was run over that happened so I wasn’t really paying attention to her decor. But even with a remodel – what the heck do you do with a second story bedroom? Attic space?
