For those of you that read Janet evanovich it’s based on one of the series with Stephanie plum, she is unemployed and gets a job with her cousins bail bond business. Her secretary or her partner in crime
Lulu is a real treat. It has a lot of funny stuff for a detective/murder series. But I highly recommend!! So there ya go pammy! theres a new Book u can download on your new kindle!!!
The movie is going to be out Jan 27th.books (not including the Bible) on it and have 49 (so far) free (yes, I said free) books to go! I didn’t even watch t.v. much except for yesterday, DVR was getting a bit full so I caught up on almost two weeks of DOOL – pretty good shows I must say! And of course all the Charlie Brown Christmas specials, etc. So many books, so little time! Will look for the movie for sure!
just a few weeks ago i got a library download of #17, not realizing it was part of a series, just thought the plot sounded good. it was sooo good, soo funny, etc. i have now gotten all the other books from the library, started at #1, and am on # 7 right now, these are truly wonderful books, sexy though not too over the top, and truly laugh out loud funny at parts. highly recommend them. (and can i say, I love discovering authors who have a ton of books in a series out, then I don’t have to wait impatiently for the next one to come out, i get to go back and read "new" books (even though they’ve been around for almost 20 years!)

My favorite author of all time! Her first book in the series came out in 1991 – love, Love, LOVE it!
all the Alex Cross books by James Patterson. He writes in a way that is always interesting, even when basically nothing is happening, and his books are fast reading…very short chapters. He has had more books make the best seller list than any other author…ever!
He also wrote The Women’s Mystery Club series. (They usually have consecutive numbers in the titles.) Even though you can quite easily read them out of order, he develops both main characters in these books a little more each time but not to the exclusion of understanding the story.
I just finished reading book 18; I started with #17 just a few weeks ago and liked it so much I went back and started at number one, reading it for the first time. I have now read all the Plum books, including the between the numbers ones, and now feeling disappointed I don’t know when I will get another Stephanie adventure! I am also very torn between which man I want Stephanie to end up with. I don’t really know if I want her to pick or if I want the back on forth to keep going on, they both have their attractions (though Ranger sounds better, to me, not necessarily better for Stephanie, though!)
Next up will be Sue Grafton’s V is for Vengeance, then I may have to check out some new authors (or maybe re-read some of the Plum books).
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. I read it for my book club thinking it was fiction. When we discussed it I found out it was a memoir. I couldn’t believe that a young girl could possibly go through what she did. It was an incredible book and I HIGHLY recommend it. (Apparently she was on Oprah discussing her life since the book. I just wish I’d seen that.)
That’s one thing I like about a book club, it makes you read things you probably wouldn’t otherwise. I found that the case with some of the best books I’ve read…The Women’s First Detective Agency, Water For Elephants, The Help, The Secret Life of Bees, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, The 19th Wife, and many others.
If you want another mystery author with tons of books to read, try Robert B. Parker. Sad to say he has recently passed away but all the wonderful stories are still to be found at your library. He was my favorite and I own all of them and they are all signed!! Give him a try. They are all very short and most can be finished in an afternoon. Books are such a treasure, read all you can.
I’ve listened to many of Robert B Parker’s books on tape and/or CD (on tape? Yes, I’ve been listening a long time!) and I’ve really grown accustomed to the reader (Joe Mantegna). He just makes Spenser and Hawk (I love Hawk) come alive. So when I’m actually reading a book I always hear his voice as I’m reading. One time, though, they had a different reader for one of Parker’s books and it just wasn’t the same. I just couldn’t get "into" it as much. That being said, I did not know Parker died and I just went to Amazon for the name of his last book and then to my local library website and was amazed to find the book on CD was actually available (both hard copies were checked out). It’s now on reserve for me. Thanks for the heads up!
