IMHO, this gives the writers a perfect opening for Jack, (or a new Jack) to come strolling back into Salem some day whistling a tune and thinking every thing is OK and peachy-keen, (after all Jennifer has forgiven him soooooooo many times before, why not now either?)…and the first person he will meet in Salem is the "whomever" Jennifer is attached to, (be it Daniel or someone else), and they won’t know who Jack is until he says, " I’m here to see my wife and family, Jennifer"
…I can just see it now. they will ever recast Jack. It’d almost be like trying to recast Stefano, I don’t think the fans would stand for it. And I think the chances of getting Matt Ashford back are between slim and none.
Matt Asford’s signature is all over that part, and people would be constantly comparing him to anyone else, just like they do with Jay Kenneth Johnson. Nobody accepts Philip Kiriakis to be played by anyone other than JKJ. But, for some reason, I can easily accept Kate Mansi (sp?) as Abby Devereaux, because the teens do not have as much of a vested interest with the audience as their parents do.
