I don’t think they realized it was a mistake until it aired and the viewers started complaining. If nobody complained everything would be status quo.
If they did, why then have they had and continue to have some of the dumbest, most rediculous, and silly story lines like: the "space twins", Vivian stealing Phillip when he was an "egg", the possession of Marlena, the Garden of Eden, Susan Banks and Elivs, Jan holding Sean in a cell, of late – Jennifer’s heart getting ripped out of her body and she lives!
I’m not to sure that we, (fans), are just an after thought to the writers and TPTB, DeeLan, otherwise we wouldn’t be subjected to some of this FF’ding drivel all the days of our lives!
I think there are some fans out there that like those far out storylines. Look at the success of Passions when it was on. This latest storyline though with R2 and his treatment of Sami I’m sure has all the fans in an uproar and that’s why they’re listening to the fans this time.
the audience left and it fell victim to the daytime axe! Quirky was okay but when JER went to the sick/disgusting side, he lost the viewers. The show seemed to lose it’s appeal when the actor that played the doll Timmy passed away and JER refused to give the audience the couple that we wanted. He even dumped on the fans at the end with the Shuis story.
like the weirded out story lines…but don’tcha think they are a smaller minority than the rest of us that are just grossed out, that FF’d now through this kind of stuff and are tired of the same ol’ rehash of these story lines??? We count too! And I think we’re a lot more loyal and long time to the show.
I agree there are fewer fans that like the sci-fi stories but I’m sure complaining on message boards doesn’t have the same impact as the phone calls, emails and letters they probably got after the rough sex between Sami and Rafe. If we’re talking on the message boards whether we’re happy or disgusted with SL’s they know we’re still watching and talking.
I think it’s the same as with any soap, they started watching and got addicted and couldn’t stop, regardless of how bad the writing became. I mean, look at us when JER was writing for Days, we still stuck with it.
I know the newsgroup I was on before had a lot of Passions viewers (I say viewers instead of fans just because of their addiction, they didn’t like it but kept watching anyway) and they complained constantly about the horrible storylines they were always subjected to.
Well, someone had to gobecuase of the uproar . By firing the co writer, the head writer’s job is safe—for now.

rapping my hands with a ruler for not proof reading better…but now that it’s been 51 years since first grade, I can get by with saying if I don’t type as fast as the thoughts come into my head, then I forget what I’m going to say…LOL
Yep, we’ve all been gritchin’ for a long time now Luckey, I agree, the writers only want to write women as damsels in distress or mean spirited biotches that get red Lamborghini’s for Valentines Day, or my worst favorite – women that cannot live without a man in their lives… a decade and a half for me, but the writers (and Corday) will not let her character evolve! And to see her be further fooled (granted they are stretching all reality here), by this Rafe wanna-be…well, I think we fans deserve much better when we tune in for an hours worth of entertainment and get this rehash, stinky story line instead.
Patti when you say 400,000 lost viewers, how do they guage that? Nielsen? What? FF’ding the show would have to count me in the mix for sure!
