Apparently he has been fired over the scenes of Faux Rafe having sex with Sami. I did not watch any of that because I couldn’t stomach the thought of it. Many fans of the show wrote in and voiced their disgust with the writers and this guy is now gone. Good riddance if he is behind this grotesque "rape" of Sami again!
OMG, that means we are left with only DH as head-writer. Whitesell was co-HR. Who knows, now maybe we’ll begin to see some improvement with the writing. Personally, I’ve had it with the rough sex (Brady and Nicole and R2 practically attacking Sami), and regardless of what some think, I don’t believe for a minute Sami was enjoying it, even if she doesn’t know for sure that it’s not Rafe and blaming it on his memory loss for not being himself. If they keep portraying R2 this way, we’ll see if it was Whitesell or not.
Just because it was her idea to have 2 Rafes she might not have been the one to write R2 the way he’s being written.
According to the latest updates, DOOL lost 400,000 viewers the week that Rafe2 first bedded Sami, unbeknownst to her that he was not her husband, and that was Whitesell’s writing. There may be many Sami Brady haters out there, but it seems they all hated Rafe2’s actions with Sami, and KC’s offices were flooded with literally hundreds of thousands of complaints, so somebody must read the message boards and pay attention to the surveys.
dinosaurs really fast! Rafe was good with Sami but Rafe2 is just another Dimera pawn that isn’t needed! I don’t understand why we have to see TB as another character (one that used to be sweet too)? If they wanted her back, let her be Ava Vitali again or did they kill the character off the last time? Sorry, I never enjoyed her the first time so I paid little attention to what happened to her.
They are violent and degrading – how much therapy will Sami need when she finds out it wasn’t her real husband?
Never mind that Will and Gabi saw him all over her as well. And if they get her pregnant by fake Rafe, I quit! I don’t really get what Stefano and EJ want out of this. I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
Sami having to deal with this when she finds out what has transpired. It is bad enough that this is the second time DOOL has done this story line (in my watching time), but at least my beloved John wasn’t a sleeze ball.
I was interested to see Rafe play a more harder edge story line seeing how he is such a nice goody guy (in spite of being a tough FBI), he was pretty much a marshmellow cream puff…but now, I don’t think when he goes back to being a good guy as the real Rafe character, I will ever be able to not think of him as just plain YUCKIE!

They knew months in advance what was written, it wasn’t like it was sprung on them and the first time they saw it was when it aired. Instead of firing the guy, why didn’t they just tell him, "No, we don’t want to go in that direction…rewrite it."?
Nope, I don’t buy it. He had to be fired for something else.
I watch Days–it’s my guilty pleasure. But I’ve been able to speed through the show because I just hit the ff on the DVR and skip every sickening scene that involves this ridiculous story.
are smart enough to know better. They read what’s written and think OOOOOHHHH that sounds so good! When in reality, those of us who watch the show are thinking that is so gross! I don’t think they see things from the same perspective as the long time viewers. I am just nauseous everytime I see Rafe2 on screen, eventhough he’s the same actor, it’s the character and the incredibly awful treatment of Sami that gets me. When she finds out, what’s going to happen to EJ and Stefano? Nothing, so why have this story? At some point in time, she’ll forgive EJ because he’s "changed" or he’s the "father of her children" or some other BS. I am so sick of this. Glad this writer was fired, but Dena Higley ought to go too. Lots of heads should have rolled over this.
I hate Rafe2 as much as the rest of you. I have a hard time watching them slobber all over each other too, i usually have to change the channel. it’s disgusting. I feel sorry for Sami. If she forgives EJ again, I swear. sheesh. I would feel so sick if I were Sami when she finds out that it wasnt the real Rafe. How awful! gross! makes you shiver. I really dont understand why they are doing this either, except for EJ’s sick jealousy over Rafe. but yeah why have him "cloned"? I still dont really understand that one. and frankly could care less.
SL -the show his baby. I know he wants Sami (Alison) front and center. As a few of you mentioned on other thread that EJ (James) gets his way on the show. Well, if that is true – you know Alison is the fair haired child on the show and I would think she would have said something. Surely she after almost 15/16 years wants to take her character into another direction other than being a clueless twit once more for the millionth time. As many times as Marlena got snookered by Stefano, eventually, her character developed and took a more mature and interesting route than the woman constantly tied to the RR tracks by Sindey Whiplash (aka Stefano).
I don’t think it was just one co-writer, the head writer DH is the HEAD writer and could have changed this crappiola, the director, any one of a number of people (especially Corday) could have seen this coming. If they didn’t and all turned a blind eye to this SL, then we (fans) have much bigger issues with DOOL than I thought.
