Although I know lots of folks don’t like increasing the Hernandez family, I thought the Latino actress cast as the mother, Adriana Hernandez, was professional, age appropriate, and did a really good first day on the job of portraying a strong latino mother not taking any guff from her 3 grown children and sort of putting her foot down when she knew they were keeping a secret from her. I had to laugh when their attempt to keep Eduardo’s return hidden sort of blew up in their face when she walked into his hospital room. I don’t know how long she’ll be here, but I like her addition and hope the family can heal, if they ever decide to give Eduardo a chance to explain everything. He does seem to love them all very much.
Adored the scenes with John and Marlena and the obvious adoration they have for one another. Marlena is such a strong, determined woman, but it was so great when she asked him why he had no objections to Rafe and Steve being there but he did object that she was and asked "was it because I’m a woman," and he replied "because you’re MY woman. I’m so glad they can at least put John’s parentage to rest once and for all ….. but I think they are wrong not to be concerned with Paul’s future.
Steve and Kayla are just delightful….I hope she will be able to overcome her doubts about Steve’s love for her. I think at some point she will.
Now, poor Paul though …. what a dramatic ending …. him hearing his maniac demented grandfather’s voice in his head and that one tear coming out of the corner of his eye was chilling. I have a feeling those drugs and the brainwashing are not going to disappear completely for a while, and this might get really interesting if no one recognizes it until something drastic occurs. Time will tell.
I like that the show displayed continuity this week, continuing with sls from the day(s) before …. or am I so happy just because they didn’t contain the continuation of Theresa, Summer, and Brady fiasco, which I’m sure will come at some point.
Are we ever going to see Ben for real? Either way, I think KM, BF and even CM are doing a good job with this "is Abby losing it" sl.

Seriously though I did enjoy the shows this week for the most part. I really enjoyed the woman playing Mami Hernandez. I think she will be able to stand up to all those men but good, especially that Dario who certainly seems to have returned wtih some short of a chip on his shoulder. And even Rafe who has decided that whatever John did and put his family through because of the Phantom Alliance is okay but not what Eduardo had to do. I’m kind of hoping that Eduardo and Adriana (is that Mrs. Hernandez name?) have a reconciliation or at least a resolution because I am liking this family dynamic so far between mother and children.
I’m sure poor Paul will suffering lingering effects of his brainwashing/drugging. The only thing I have a problem with is Marlena the psychiatrist seeming to pass off what Paul went through without suggesting he could use a little counseling to make sure he is okay.I hate that they seem to forget about Marlena’s profession.
I thought she might try to comfort Paul a little bit while he was on the ground in the underground warehouse. He seemed really upset and she would just glance at him. She didn’t seem to care when Eric told Marlena about Jennifer, and there have been a few other times lately where I thought she could step up the concern a little bit. It makes me realize that she’s very much into John and really not into much else. She seems to choose him over her kids and everything else in her life constantly.
