Participantbut that was my mistake, not Casey’s.

Participantexactly the way it should be. Meatloaf was terrific, but the surprise panel from past Celebrity Apprentice years who interviewed each of them (Richard Hatch, Joan Rivers and Pierce Morgan) were right on the money. Meatloaf is indeed far too emotional. The guy is crying his eyes out one minute, real tears and all, then threatening to shove a phone down somebody’s throat the next. Not that he didn’t do a good job, but I honestly am surprised this guy is alive between his extravagant Type-A personality one minute, and total collapse into tears the next. Not a very good trait to have if you want to be around for a while, and I don’t mean Celebrity Apprentice, I mean living your life.
I did not call John Rich as being in the finals, but I did call Marlee. She knew just when to put her two cents in, and how to keep riding the wave. She’s smart, beautiful, and a terrific fundraiser — exactly someone The Donald would want representing the show. My vote on the 7-Up design goes to Marlee’s team as well. I just couldn’t see the tiger striped cans and cartons representative of 7-Up. Marlee’s had just the right of amount of pizzazz to make it new, yet still keep it "7-Up," if I’m expressing what I mean here. In other words, John’s was too far out and too much of a change. Marlee’s was eye-catching and very retro, but still would not be mistaken for 7-Up on the shelves of your local market.
Incidentally, there was a "Donald Trump Roast" on last week that contained mostly comedians roasting the big guy (funny but pretty raw), and one of the members of the roasters was none other than Marlee Matlin. It just seemed strange that no other person from the show was on. I sorta’ took that as a sign.

Participanthe truly won it ALL, taking the $100,000 for the audience vote for most popular person (or best player) on the show as well. Can you believe that?????
Philip, we still don’t know if he was a true/blue federal agent, even though they talked to some woman in the audience who was a real federal agent. She "knew" Philip and said he was really smart and knew the entire federal agent manual like he memorized it, but she could not say if he actually worked for them. Maybe he just tested well, who knows, but she said he was smart and just "knew things." I still don’t believe he was ever a real federal agent.
The jury put it on Rob hot and heavy, except for Dan (the attorney). At the end he didn’t talk to the players, he talked directly to the jury, and said they all knew who they should be voting for, because when you came right down to it, it was thought that Rob never pulled any punches, and they knew him and he knew them. He was seen by all as playing the game exactly like it should be played. In other words, "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer," which is why he kept "nimrod" Philip and coat-tails Natalie on with him. Rob knew Natalie was indeed riding on his coattails from day 1, and he also knew within a very short time that people could not stand Philip, and that’s what he was looking for. It’s what he wanted, and it’s why he decided to keep him around.
The jury (except for Ralph, who seemed to genuinely like Philip) came down on Philip like thunder at the final council meeting, and he came down on them as well, especially Julie. He more or less told her and all of them to go to hell, and still continued to b/s people by talking like a man who was completely insane. I truly believe this man is demented or worse. So, once again, to Rob’s advantage, he (Rob) looked like the lesser of two evils. As for Natalie, she didn’t stand a chance. They looked at her like a puppet on a string, which is exactly what she was.
The funniest part for me was after they announced Rob’s win, he ran into the audience and hugged and kissed Amber and his two kids (adorable, by the way), but I swear to you, Bonbon, as soon as he kissed her, he whispered something in her ear and she laughed. I’d like to bet if they had any audio on him or her whatsoever and replayed that moment, he more or less would have been saying: "told you these assholes would be easy" (or words to that effect).
I was watching some old 3 Stooges shows this past weekend, and one of Moe’s lines to Curly was: "you’re the most intelligent imbecile I ever knew." I immediately thought of Philip.

Participantwe have, on many occasions, had the same opinions. That’s what makes debating fun….that and each respecting the other’s opinions without making it a war. Admittedly I make long posts, but unfortunately I don’t know any other way to get my point(s) across.

Participantand comparing primetime to daytime is not the problem. The problem is too large of a cast, and not enough time spent on the people we came to watch in the first place. I absolute hate too many hopping storylines in one show, with the actor(s) saying one or two lines, and then the scene cuts to someone or something I care nothing about. I realize everyone has their favorite couples, but in most instances, from what I’ve seen on this forum alone, it pretty much narrows it down to about 1 or 2 dozen characters. The cast for DOOL is practically 3 times that many actors now, which means that I’m not interested in at least two-thirds of them. Write good stories for people with whom the audiences shares a vested interest, with more screen time and less repetitive flashbacks and even more annoying, repeating the last five minutes of yesterdays show with the same exact scenes from the day before. That irritates the hell out of me. I think ALL stories should wrap up in 3 months. That’s long enough for any story to be told. Even the most popular cast members get on my nerves after that. Stop using children in soaps. They don’t work, except as plot suppliers or pawns. I love this show and have watched it since the beginning. There are certain things about a "soap opera" that will never change; however, there are ways to make them more interesting, and IMO it starts with a smaller cast and returning to family-oriented story lines with the popular villains thrown into the mix, but keeping it interesting enough to draw the fans in, begging for more …. sorta’ like we’re doing right now. If these boards are read, then TPTB know what and who the fans want to see. But the writing MUST be number one for any soap opera to be successful. You can’t please all of the people all of the time, that’s true, but when you can’t please the majority, it’s time to look at what the audience wants and give it to them. It can be done in daytime; it’s just a matter of putting the right people in charge.

ParticipantA new actor has already been cast and signed to a contract, to begin airing this summer. He is Freddie Smith, formerly of 90210, and it is believed (but not yet confirmed) that he will be Justin and Adrienne’s son, and Will’s new boyfriend. Although nothing has been confirmed, it is strongly rumored that the young Kiriakis will be gay, and Will’s new mate.

Participantand give credit where credit is due. It’s nice to be able to compliment the show’s writers, editors, directors, actors, etc., for a change.

Participantsince so many people have complained about them; guess not. It really is lame, since they look so out of place during a soap opera. I’m surprised she didn’t hold the bottle up next to her face while she was talking about what Midol Complete does for you.

Participant"remember, this is the week Daughtry went home," to sort of give us a ‘head’s up’ indicating don’t be surprised at who goes tonight. I was totally blown away, and I’m not into heavy metal at all. I just thought James was going all the way, and he really was so very popular with everyone. Of course, my heart cried for him last night. He has had to face so very many challenges in his young life, but he’ll make it through this one, too. I just was so looking forward to seeing him in the finale. I don’t think Lauren or Haley should have been standing up there last night while James left the competition. I’m not worried about him, though. His phone is probably ringing off the hook with offers. Now I really don’t care who wins it, but personally I have to root for Scotty.

ParticipantMaks and his brother. I knew Mark Ballas played the guitar, but I did not know he was that accomplished with classical guitar. Again, he comes from a very talented family. Although, I did not know he and Derek were in a band together. Boy, whoever put all of this talent together on one show was a pure genius, that’s for sure.
Patti
ParticipantI’m growing fond of Jen and Daniel and want them to stay together. If Abbey misses her father that much, let her join him.

ParticipantWonder how long that will last? I mean it’s obvious how much they both truly care for one another, but you know what they say in the song …. when an irresistible force meets an immoveable object, don’t you? It means "something or someone’s gotta give." Wonder who will be the first to either change or simply learn to look the other way.
Patti
Participantand for me it just keeps getting better and better. I just wish they could find a way to show us this kind of writing AND acting more that just in a sweeps month. Our ratings would be so much higher than a 1.7.

Participantthere’s another truly amazing girl I really miss on DWTS. Whatever happened to make her leave? Does she still date Ryan Seacrest? Juliana and Derek are probably two of my favorite all-time pros, besides Maks and Tony, but gosh, I don’t recall realizing how great Louie is when he’s dancing with another pro. He was fabulous on the results show.
Patti
Participantwhen Ryan asked him who he thought won the first round, and he followed it with " for me, it was a tie between Scotty, Lauren and James," with no follow-up, leaving Haley standing there like she was invisible? It may not have been intentional and leaned more toward his disapproval of her song choice, but to me it was disrespectful to Haley, who is, after all, in the final four. So, yeah, I thought it was a bit on the mean side.
