Participantvery selective make-up artistry.

Participantwho will be the new character, Madison. She might have some interaction with E.J., but it’s already been spoiled that she will be paired with Brady at some point. Yeah, at least, like you said Nora, it will keep Melanie and Brady apart, romantically anyway.

Participantreturning. I didn’t even realize that Juliana was in the singing/acting business now. The only thing I’ve seen her do are commercials for the acne wash and medication, (is it called) "Proactive."? As for singing, never realized she did that either. I’m sure she has a foot in the door already being Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend, whether she needs it or not. She’s such a beauty herself, that I’m sure she will be successful in whatever career she chooses. Just glad to have one of my favorite pros, Derek, back on DWTS. Although, I hope he doesn’t draw Nancy Grace. Ugh!

Participantthat’s a fact. Just how long it will last, though, is anybody’s guess. I think I read where he’s also going to have some involvement with the new cast member, Sarah Brown, when she arrives, which is going to make Nicole very, very jealous. Not to worry, though, Nikki, cause she (SB) and Brady are said to become an item. But I think they are definitely heading for a complete reconciliation for E.J. and Nicole, and that they will be reunited….maybe even remarried, and for that I couldn’t be more grateful. At least then they will be leaving Sami and Rafe the hell alone.

Participantsince Kate is ressurecting the Countess Wilhelmina business, I thought she was talking to Billie.

Participantbut I thought today was pretty boring. The new writers’ are now listed in the closing credits, and have been all week, so I’m guessing what we are seeing now is partially their work, but still Dena Higley’s stories. In just a 24 more days we will begin seeing the new storylines totally penned by the new writers. Then I’ll know if my mounting excitment will be worth the wait……or not!

Participantthat Stefano was getting old and was ill, and that’s why he (E.J.) was taking over. I wonder if we will be seeing less and less of Stefano. Considering Joe M.’s age, it wouldn’t be that much of a shock if they weren’t phasing him out at some point in time.

Participantlike the writers were definitely going for a reformed E.J., but I simply cannot see how he would be allowed to run for any political office without being run out of town on a rail first. Even though the DiMeras have always been slick enough not to leave enough evidence to convict, the townspeople certainly know of his reputation and all of the people he and Stefano have screwed over, including other political associates. Therefore, I think it’s a dumb expectation to be taken seriously unless he is headed for complete reform, which I highly doubt. As for using Nicole as some sort of new status symbol, that would pretty much be like putting the Gotti family as the parade’s grand marshals. So, if E.J. does run for Mayor of Salem, and, worse yet, he wins, it would certainly give a whole new meaning to "Gangsta’ Politics."

Participantbut I’m still a fan of the show and especially the pros, who most times can make almost anyone look good at some point. As for Chaz Bono, I won’t judge until I see him dance, but then that goes for all of this seasons cast, and this year that’s what they are to me is a "cast" compared to "stars." I didn’t even recognize more than half of them. Does anyone know if the Houghs are returning this year, especially Derek?
Patti
Participantand if it’s any indication as to the direction our show is heading, count me in as an appreciative fan. The picnics, the parties, the holidays, will all be returning, so I’ve read, and it seems everyone has been looking forward to it. I know I am.
Patti
Participantand I knew I remembered her from AMC, but I completely forgot about her role as a young Meggie in The Thorn Birds. She certainly did a great job in both, and I’m enjoying her on now on Days. Unfortunately, I don’t believe it’s a long-term role, but she would be quite an asset, especially with Marlena returning. Salem could certainly use more than one psychiatrist, that’s for sure.
Patti
Participantand that’s been his problem all along. I thought it was a funny line yesterday when he was complaining about seeing Sonny pop up everywhere now, only to have Will reply: "in your dreams, maybe." Took that as a possible hint that maybe that’s where they could be heading with this kid. Shame, because he started out so likeable, and now I just find him to be a real jerk.

Participantand I felt like someone was behind me shaking my chair for what seemed to be about 10-15 seconds, and that was it. My son looked over and asked, "mom, did you feel that," and then we started getting calls on our cells from home asking if we felt the earthquake. Other than that one tremor, I can honestly say I thought we were experiencing some sort of squall or high wind, but we definitely felt it.

ParticipantWe in the mid-Atlantic are going to get slammed. We got out of Ocean City yesterday, where I spent a wonderful vacation with my kids and grandkids, only to be told we had to leave a day early because of Irene, which is expected to hit directly over the resort town. It started to get a little crazy looking last night, so we decided to leave a day early to batten down our own hatches here at home. Looks like it’s definitely on its way. The last report has moved it up 12 hours now, so tomorrow and Sunday is going to be treacherous. We’re weather proofing the house as much as we possibly can, and yes, please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us, and keep us in your prayers.
As for the earthquake, I was on the beach and thought someone was shaking my beachchair from behind. Honestly, that’s what it felt like. My son looked over and asked "did you feel that" and then our cell phones immediately started going off with calls from home telling us about a 5.9 earthquake. I have never felt one here in Maryland in all my life, although I’ve read we’ve had a few tremors. I sure felt this one, though.
Geeze, imagine, a 5.9 earthquake followed by what is being foretold to be a category 2 hurricane (worst in 50 years here in the mid-Atlantic) both in the same week. So, yes, I would say this is more than a little scary, so, again, my friends, please, keep us in your prayers.

ParticipantEverbody HATES her so much. Well, I don’t. I think she has grown up…..a lot. It should be obvious that the one man she has found who doesn’t judge her, but loves her, unconditionally, is always there for her, would be the one she would actually want to have a child with. I wish her well with the new writers. Well, I hope that if Ali reads these boards, she will know that Samantha Gene has at least ONE fan who loves her.
