because a month or so back I posted an upcoming spoiler (don’t know if anyone else saw it) about Ian’s cane being an integral part of his backstory.  The backstory or spoiler (not rumor or spumor, but a definite spoiler) claimed that Ian’s cane was engraved with the symbol of the "Phoenix", insinuating that he was a DiMera, and that perhaps he was E.J.’s biological father, but that was right after the old writers were fired, and I think that the new writers nixed it.  That may or may not be the case now, but I think that would have been an interesting concept, because E.J. would still be a DiMera, but not Stefano’s son but Ian’s.  Then, the day it was supposed to be spoiled, it never occurred.  Hmmm….still wondering though!

I distinctly remember Harmon TELLING Stefano that the security system was rigged with a bomb, and that it could even be detonated from the woods, so why would Stefano not have given him orders right then and there that, under no circumstances, should the bomb be set off.  The whole explanation of Stefano’s not knowing was ridiculous.

I loved the tribute everyone paid, even Sami’s.  Seemed to me she was truly sorry for the way she treated Marlena and Carrie and bravely faced the music when she knew everyone would, as many do here, roll their eyes at her emotional comments.  I have to admit, I was glad Will didn’t go into one of his tirades while, or after, she spoke.  I thought Jennifer’s tribute to Hope was the ridiculous one, but I loved Victor’s tribute to Bo as well as Brady’s to John.  Even Gabbi did a heartfelt emotional tribute to Rafe.  I really enjoyed the show today, especially Will standing up to Stefano AND E.J.

He is absolutely superior compared to any of the young actors I see on other soaps, at least the 3 I watch anyway (Y&R and GH).  Even though I find myself getting a little perturbed at the "angry" Will sometimes, he does it so well and convincing.  He is going to be a big in the near future.

Stefano blamed Andre, but it was actually E.J. who kidnapped and imprisoned Lexi in the tunnels.  Stefano didn’t know anything about it and blamed Andre for it, when it was really E.J. all along, because he thought Lexi and Tek witnessed him shooting John.

although it would appear that way the most.  I keep thinking about what Lucas said to Will today ….. "just because you are mad at somebody doesn’t mean you hate them."  I do think she was wrong to be blaming Roman the way she did, though.  But, that’s Sami — always opening her mouth and inserting her foot.  She’ll probably be mad at all of them when the truth comes out, though, for ‘making’ HER believe they were all dead.  I can just hear her now …. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME???"  LOL!

and refuses to accept when the pros put their own mojo on a dance, which is unfair because dancers like Mark and Katherine (especially Mark) will never escape his criticism when they try to show something new.  I think he does the same thing with Derek.  He refuses to see the powerful talent behind the work and his comments are at times blinded by what he perceives a dance should look like.  I love Tom’s comments when he makes these kind of remarks, even though it doesn’t change Len’s score.  If he’s too "old school" to recognize the choreography, maybe he should no longer be judging it.  I really liked Rochon and Chelsie last night.  Their Fox Trot was really good, and for me they are just too cute for words, even though I don’t think he has a chance of winning it.  I don’t know how Melissa keeps escaping elimination, but she’s stiff as a board on most of her dances, and can’t compare to the other dancers, no matter how hard Maks tries to show her what she is doing wrong.  He almost had a meltdown with her in last night’s showing of the rehearsal, but she must have a huge fan base, even though IMO she just doesn’t have the talent to keep her in much longer.  I did really like her dancing the trio dance with his Maks and his brother.  They sure do look a lot alike.  And, Len actually praised her last night, while reprimanding Katherine and Mark and Derek and Maria.  Go figure!

that they are setting the stage for Joe M’s departure.  I no longer see him constantly escaping his fate.  He may have not wanted to kill them, but the repetition of his escaping or denying his part in any wrong-doing is over for me.  It’s time to put him to rest.  Joe is such a great actor, but these horrific writers have turned his character to mush, and as much as I hate to see it happen to this legendary character, it’s time for the Phoenix to go down, never to rise again. If, in fact, that’s the plan, I would not want him to be assassinated by the likes of anyone in Salem, the SPD, FBI, ISA, whose incompetence has been overwhelming and who will never be a match for Stefano.  No, instead, I would like it to be by his own hand, realizing that his actions have caused him to lose everything and everyone whoever meant anything to him, especially his queen of the night, believing he is responsible for Marlena’s death.  Make it happen, writers.

According to Jason47, NBC will not be preempting DOOL this year for the Wimbledon Tennis semi-finals on Thursday, July 7th, and Friday, July 8th.  NBC no longer has the rights to Wimbledon.  (Yeah)!

I feel the same way about Aubrey, though, and would hate to see her take it.  I think she’s related to Sami Brady with her constant "me…me…me" attitude.  Personally, I think it will be Clay and Aubrey, though, in the final two.
