I did read a spoiler though, I think it was on Soap Central, that Stefano is not dead, but will not reappear until November sweeps. I do like the idea of Stefano shooting himself, though. Now that would be something nobody has done before, anyway. And, as we all know, he knows how to have someone cloned. Problem for me is I’m sooooo over that kind of story-telling. I do have this feeling that Stefano has a connection to Ian, or knows what Ian’s real plans were, but did not take into consideration that he (Ian) would set up E.J. to take the fall. Interesting.

Nicole is sitting at a table in the HTS with or near Daniel when one of MANY underground explosions begin to take place, causing part of the floor around her to cave in and fall on top of Melanie, Andrew and Gabbi. Nicole begins to experience stomach pains. C’mon, would they do this to Nikki again??? I hope not. Still don’t know who all of the fatalities are (there are supposed to be five in all), but I hope two of them are Gabbi and Andrew. I know Melanie must be saved becuse there are spoilers of her in scenes with Nick Fallon, who hasn’t even shown up in Salem yet. Haven’t read it as a spoiler yet, but I would bet that Madison dies. Another I hope is going to die is Ian. There are enough people on DOOL who can be described as "villains". IMO this character is not needed, unless he is, of course, a DiMera. Even then, I hope we’ll be saying buh-bye to Ian MacAllister.
this makes so much sense. So, it looks like now we are going to have two cliffhangers — 1) The ballroom guests; and 2) Madison and Brady’s wedding. Since Sarah Joy Brown (Madison) will be leaving in mid-August, I’m betting Madison is one of the fatalities. I know a lot of people are disgusted with the show, but this is what it’s all about — excitement involving large amount of cast and no one has a clue what happens until the show resumes on August 13th. I read there will be five fatalities, but no clue as to who they are. Hopefully, they won’t all be contract players, but I’m going with one being Madison. In any case, this all sounds soooo good — can’t wait!

PR’s last tape date is somewhere around the end of this month, and his on-air exit will be in mid-late October. Will Bo go on with a re-cast, or will the door be left open for the only Beauregard Aloysius Brady I can ever accept?
ICAM about EJAMI, although I know she will still be torn between her love for Lucas, yet can’t seem to walk away from E.J., who will be determined to make her realize that they belong together. (Ugghh, right?)
Molly Burnett’s last air date is September 27th, but before then she will once again be working with Blake Berris (Nick Fallon); however, I don’t know what that storyline will be about …. just that it will be happening.
Ian Buchanan will cause extreme havoc on many before he departs Salem (alive or dead I’m not sure) on August 25th, I believe I read.
Eileen Davidson has already begun taping, but won’t air until October. Now, this HAS to be worth waiting for.
Also, we are not finished with Alice’s secrets from the grave yet, so I’m curious what else our dear matriarch will be revealing.
Is Stefano DiMera alive or is he really, most sincerely, dead? Is the half coin story line that has suddenly dropped off the face of Salem still on the table? Will it resurface in Italia? Did the name "Yvette" really stand for a specific individual, or does it refer to something else entirely, and what is on the other half of the coin? Who has it and what is it’s significance? What if Stefano knew all along who the other half belonged to, but lost track of him/her? Was Stefano DiMera perhaps a twin who imprisoned a sibling after his father died, or is our Stefano an imposter? Is E.J. the only full blooded Dimera? Or, as many suspect, have the new writers simply decided to drop the storyline altogether? That would be stupid, IMHO. Hmmmm, lots to ponder here.
unless he (Ian) is a DiMera, too? If he is, did he shoot Stefano in order to gain control through the bloodline, or through Kate, knowing that Stefano didn’t execute his will, leaving Kate still the wife du jour’ with Ian standing in line? Perhaps E.J. is truly a DiMera after all, but not Stefano’s son? I just can’t figure why Ian is going after E.J., but it does suggest to me that he is unaware that E.J. is not Stefano’s biological son.

The only thing that should get the network involved is if the show (any soap) is over-budget or contract negotiations get in the way of a continuing storyline for an actor. Then it’s time for TPTB to get involved; otherwise, they should stay out of the writing of the stories. The old writers, the ones who claim they were "hog-tied" by NBC …. bah …. sour grapes AFAIC; I don’t believe that for a minute. If the show is well written, the stories exciting, the contract negotiations intact, and the spending is within budget ….. there’s not a writer in the world who can tell me they were "hog-tied" by the network, or by the production company for that matter. I’m sorry, I simply don’t believe it. Why would any network even do that.? I’ll tell you why I doubt it …… THEY DON’T! The old writers had little to no experience in the head-writing department and a great deal of their writing consisted of dropped story lines, ludicrous character reversal, and outrageous ignorance of the character’s history with one another. Adding to that we suddenly got a town filled with revolving bedroom doors and veterans who returned and practically immediately back-burnered. The old writers just ran out of ideas and the show reached the point where it was obvious that they didn’t know what they were doing any longer. Meanwhile, the powers looked the other way believing the writers could fix it, and when they realized it was way too late, MAR/DAR were fired. Gary Tomlin and Chris Whitesell do know what they’re doing. They know this show’s history like the back of their hands, especially GT, who was the executive producer at one time. Chris Whitesell also has more writing experience in his pinky finger than MAR/DAR had between both of them. So, that being said, I once again find myself more than willing to give them the chance to prove it if it means it will save my favorite daytime show.
