Just when we get over the Jennifer/Daniel/Nicole tragedy, immediately followed by the Jennifer/Daniel/Chloe angst, which seemed to go on forever, here comes J.J., a pot selling, trouble-making teen disguised as a grudge holding son and immediately decides to put the world’s largest snow job on his very enabling mom, and determined to destroy any relationship between her and Daniel, and all because he sees this good doctor replacing a father, who didn’t bother to spend that much time in his family’s lives to begin with anyway (let’s face it, Jack was a screw-up). I’m not too worried though, since I believe this little weed-head’s decisions will soon be his downfall, at which point he will be redeemed; but, in the meantime, I can barely watch this kid on my screen without wanting to put my fist through it.

or that CSI cop/detective Hope was conversing with. There was a point in time, when Hope and Abe carelessly left Kate and Gabi in Rafe’s room, and Kate sort of looked down. That’s all they showed, but immediately thereafter she decided to leave and went straight to Stefano. Someone is setting Sami up to take this murder rap, that much is clear to me.

and how he just could not imagine how he was going to play certain scenes and feel good about it. I think we’ll see a different actor when he returns. I like Drake Hogestyn, a lot, and I would like to see the writers “fix” this super-couple. They’re aren’t many left in soaps, the writers keep breaking them apart. This is happening on other soaps, not just DOOL. I have high hopes our writers are moving more in the right direction when I see what’s happening on other shows in daytime. The ratings for DOOL are going up, and they have moved ahead in certain demographics, and that’s certainly a good thing. Shows they do pay attention to the fans in many instances …. not all, but a lot, and I think Drake’s 3 or 4 month departure will be well worth his return. At least I hope it will. Just stay put, Marlena, and don’t let’s Roman use Sami’s predicament to bring his self further into your orbit once he realizes John is gone.

the one the other day when Marlena slapped John, the second time, not the first, she was so off the mark, and the camera angle was such that it appeared comical. You could clearly see the miss. That’s just embarrassing for the actors as well as the director, because it was so obvious to the audience that she never came near his face …. well, it was obvious to me, anyway. I guess some actors can take a real slap…..others not so much.

revealing Drake back taping. So glad. Maybe they’ll fix him and Marlena. Of course, we won’t see any of it until October, or perhaps November, since taping is 4 months ahead. What we are watching now was taped in Feb/Mar, but in any case I’m glad DH coming back. I was afraid they fired him …. again.

is her fight with Rafe’s deceased sister, Ariana. Of course, we knew it was all stunt doubles, but it was very well done when it came to actually fighting and not just holding onto one another’s shoulders and rocking back and forth. I mean, they actually broke the table. LOL! Great scene, and yes Sami has had more than her share of great ones.

then GONE — for at least 3 months; possibly longer —- possibly never to be seen again. His contract expires around that time as well. Nothing in writing that I’ve seen yet indicates he has been fired, though. I think they will bring him back at some point.

that was hysterical to me. And, didn’t he look like the “Mad Maestro” conducting his opera? Great scene AND line for Joe M.

Ali just didn’t do a very good job of portraying it. I am glad we got the scenes depicting what happened before she shot Bernardi though. Made it more understandable to me. Sure, she could have shot him in the leg, hell she could have shot him anywhere but in the back, which probably went straight through or very near his heart. HOWEVER, I really do believe that she did not have time to think straight. The gun, as she stated, was already in her hand. She saw someone, who’s back was to her, standing over Rafe with what she believed to be a knife; even said she saw the blade shining as it was being held high over Rafe’s body and about to be plunged it into him (or so she thought); so I can certainly understand her not thinking clearly OR quickly enough when she shot Bernardi. Now, she’s going to have to face the music for it, where she did not before (3-4 month umbrella storyline beginning here).

As far as who has the razor, I believe it to be one of 3 people: 1) the security guard; 2) one of the forensic cops on the scene; or (wait for it) —- 3) Kate. Kate and Gabi were left in the room, (nice move Hope and Abe — let the scene of the crime be totally contaminated) and Gabi went straight to Rafe’s bedside, while Kate remained back against the wall. She did look down at the floor, but whether or not she saw the razor is the question. If so, did she pick it up? Not sure but someone has it. I just know that she made a quick exit immediately after that, perhaps realizing who she thought was to blame, even after she first blamed E.J. One of those cops (Eddie?) sure had a lot of dialogue for an extra (compared to the cops on Will’s shooting scenes); and someone (maybe the security guy or the forensic cop) had to be on Stefano’s payroll as well. After all, somebody had to call him to let him know his plan failed miserably.

So no souvenir for you today, Steffie! LOL!

because these two (Tomlin and Whitesell) are not unfamiliar with DOOL. They’ve been here before and from what I read on many boards as well as media articles, they (at least Tomlin) were directly responsible for the return of many of the vets when they were hired after the firing of Marlene McPhearson and her writing partner, Darryl Ray Thomas; however, I believe certain writers just do not enjoy writing for certain characters, and that is what I think is going on now with John Black. Incidentally, I think the same applies to Bryan Dattilo and Matt Ashford. For some reason these writers want John and Doc to move on, and if that’s what they (writers) want, so long as they have the backing to write the way THEY want to write and not be controlled by the network or Corday, then that’s what we’ll get, and yes, I think Tomlin and perhaps even Chris Whitesell just do not enjoy writing for this character. I also think that’s why Drake’s performance has been so poorly executed. Ever since the writers decided to destroy this very popular super-couple, the fans have been screaming their disgust. It has proven among the fans to be a very poorly written, totally unbelievable storyline where John and Doc are concerned. My belief …. personally …. and I have no way of proving it or disproving it …. someone just does not like writing for Drake, hence the very obvious lack of effort on the part of the actor to be convincing in his role. Presumably, he doesn’t like it anymore than we do, and it shows in Drake’s performance. Too bad, but yes, I believe it is the head-writers who have given up on Doc and John. Drake’s last day of taping was March 18th, so look for him to be gone very soon (not fired … just gone, perhaps until the end of his contract, which runs out shortly). Either way, he will be off-screen for a couple of months. Whether or not he will return is anybody’s guess. If he does return, it will not be before October, since DOOL is 4 months ahead in taping.

of another priest, which is completely understandable considering the fact that the woman who wants him to forgive her is the same one who not only tortured his mother, but tried to kill her as well. I can understand Eric’s feelings on the matter perfectly.
