Participantthat letter from Sami, the words, the deep feelings, just grabbed my soul and my heart; that, combined with the look on E.J.’s face when he was reading it with tears trickling down his face, made my heart melt. For the first time I have to actually praise the writers for that “epic” moment depicting the love between this powerful super-couple. That scene exemplified everything I have ever hoped to be between Sami and E.J. Sami’s words were so from the heart … and she shared a little of everything … the good, the bad and, yes, even the ugly. If I ever had any doubt in my mind that they would make it, it was erased today.

Participantand that Ali is not cursed with dark circles under her eyes. I think the show is doing a great hair/make-up job with Ali showing the physical wear and tear she’s enduring during this prison storyline. Good job, DOOL!
I personally think it was a mistake to do a closed trial. Sort of makes the trial a little underwhelming for me. A packed courtroom with family and close friends on both sides would have been far more dramatic AFAIC.
I liked the effect of Rafe not being able to raise his hand to place on the Bible, but I agree that his presence in person will no doubt be more effective than watching him testify on video. The looks between Rafe and Sami showed me how sorry they both were for one another’s pain. Not that they were still in love, but deeply cared about and respected. Unfortunately, I don’t see Rafe’s or Kate’s testimony helping Sami.
I’m wondering why Kate didn’t bring up the fact that Sami shot E.J. in the head when she was asked by Trask if she knew of any other incidents where Sami had a gun. Maybe because Justin might have blamed her for Sami shooting E.J., because, after all, it was Kate who called Sami and told her that E.J. intended on leaving Salem with the children, and it might have looked like Kate was setting Sami up.
I know they instruct the jury not to discuss the trial among themselves, but the witnesses was, well, either a mistake on the writers, or a drama plot, knowing full well that both Sonny and Will are going to discuss the trial, as are Kate and Rafe. Kinda’ stupid on their part on that point.
Last I heard, the words “so help me God” have been removed from the swearing in of a witness in court, just as the words “under God” have been removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. Pitiful, IMO!

Participantand having worked as a legal assistant for more than 30 years, I’ve seen far too many of these types of ‘over-achievers’ in my day. The judge called her on it a couple of times, and most judges will do that; however, all the attorney cares about is that they’re getting their point imbedded straight into the jury’s mind, even though the lawyer was warned about his/her overzealous line of questioning. Yes, I find Trask to be extremely annoying, but if she makes her point with the jury, that’s all she cares about. It’s up to the judge to put her in her place and possibly slap a contempt charge on her if she continues to badger or attempt to put words into a witness’s mouth.

ParticipantThe writers needed a reason to NOT postpone this trial going forward so that it would blindside the prosecutor from finding out what E.J. did before Sami was set free. But, I agree — where do they come up with this stupid *hit??? Better question would be: Why????

Participantso I have to go with the bad parenting on her part; however, that being said, it was totally wrong for Daniel to even be there. If he wanted to drive Abby to the hospital, which was nuts that she felt she couldn’t drive, I agree, Daniel could have dropped her off and told her if her or her mother needed her, they could call him. He did not have to go inside and have this make-up session in front of JJ’s eyes. That will only make him more hateful to them than he already is. Tough love may be the only way to go with JJ, but I thought Daniel showing up and then Jen rushing to him with a hug and a kiss did, indeed, threw salt into the wound. By the way, I’m so sick of everyone in Salem propping Dannifer. I sort of wish they would break them up. Maybe that will happen and maybe it won’t, but I’m pretty much over these two.

Participanta government agency, so I can’t imagine them not paying for it. Also, he can’t be moved right now, at least according to Kayla, and the Salem University Hospital has it’s own rehab center, but obviously he has some sort of nerve damage if he can’t be moved, so I don’t see why it’s so strange to see him still in his hospital room doing the beginning of what appears to me to be rehabilitative exercises with Jordan. JMO. That, plus the fact that most people on message boards tend to compare what happens in real life to what happens on a soap opera, so I guess I give up trying to make sense of anything so long as I’m entertained.

Participantand thought the same thing …. board full of comments on how people feel about that damn blue streak. Well sorry, but I’d rather talk about the show anytime; however, the one thing I will say is that I don’t mind Kate’s blue streak half as much as I do Sami’s pink one. Kate’s is not nearly as distracting as Sami’s, IMO.

Participantshe claims she’s 5’4″. Guess she looks so small because she plays opposite James Scott, who’s around 6’5″.

Participantfrom when the cast of the Mary Tyler Moore show was on, and Valerie Harper repeats the story of her illness. She was diagnosed in January with terminal cancer of her brain, but with very moderate symptoms at that time. However, she was given 3 months to live when diagnosed. According to Valerie, the cancer originated in her lungs and spread to her brain, and she was told there was nothing further the doctors could do. Her condition was considered terminal. Well, here we are eight months later and she looks and feels fine and has now been told that for some unexplained reason her condition is in remission. She did have some treatments, and I know that research has come a long way, and God bless her, I hope she is the example of seeing is believing. I’ll never forget her line when she was on Katie when asked how she could be so up-beat with this terrible diagnosis, and she said she always reminds herself, her husband, her family, and her friends: “don’t go to the funeral until the day of the funeral.” I wish her the best. She’s a wonderfully perky and lovely woman.
