They do have to pass an initial audition before they get to the 3 celebrity judges. I had a friend who auditioned a few years ago in Birmingham, AL and he never made it to Simon, Randy and Paula.
I think they let a few of the goofy ones through so they’d have something for the show.
Stefano could always do to EJ what he did to Tony and find a replacement for him. Make him into the son he always wanted.
I agree. I felt in the past Kara and Randy were trying to come down to Simon’s level and be as insulting as possible, for them. I liked Simon and I’m sure many tuned in for his insults but was that really good critiques of the contestants. I thought Steven Tylor was very good in the advice he gave some of the contestants last night and hope he can continue with that when they get to Hollywood. Jennifer was also honest and you could tell when she wanted to say no but didn’t want to be the first one as she always deferred the voting to the other 2 before she made her decision. I’m sure with more experience in this she’ll get in the groove and won’t be afraid to speak first.
If I remember from past seasons the judges were able to guide the contestants and during the week when they picked the songs for them to sing they could actually help them prepare. I think the new judges will get in there and actually do an awesome job of getting them ready for that weeks performance, especially Steven Tyler as he really seemed to be enjoying himself.
There was an energy last night that was missing the last few seasons with Simon and Kara and even before with Simon and Paula. Almost like they didn’t really want to be there.
I had my doubts about Steven Tyler but after seeing him I think he’s rather amusing and good. I could do without all the "Steven Tyler cliche’s" though. He was honest with the contestants without being hurtful and even though we did see some tears as some were leaving I didn’t see one yet that was cussing into the camera and using obcene gestures. Looks like those were only used for Simon and then Kara when she was on.
I was afraid J Lo was going to be too much like Paula but once she got use to telling someone no she had no problem being honest and telling them they really didn’t belong there. It’s nice to see a panal of judges that are performers and know what it takes to be on stage singing to a large audience.
Randy seemed a bit more mellow this season and more like the Randy of the first few seasons. It seemed like he was taking on the personalities of Simon and Kara the last couple of seasons and now that he’s not competeing with them he’s more like himself again.
I really thought I wouldn’t be enjoying Season 10 but after last night I’m looking forward to seeing them in Hollywood and after and hearing their critique of the performers. I do think 2 hours is an hour too long though.
I remember when they use to change actors and they’d announce when the new actor was scene for the first time "The roll of So&So is now being played by So&So" Or when they filmed close to or on the air date and an actor was sick they’d say "the roll of So&So is temporarily being played by So&So"
I don’t see them replacing him with Jay in the role one day and someone else the next. Since Phillip is such a known character and JKJ has been in that role off and on for years I could see them sending him off for a while then bringing him back with another actor in the role like they before. He went joined the Marines then when he came back there was another actor in the role. When JKJ was coming back the had Phillip go off again and came back with a new face.
that Brady succeeds in taking control of Titan out from under Vivian and he’s not too quick about giving control back to Victor. Wondering now if Brady and his power somehow transfers Phillip to Titan Headquarters in another part of the world. His way of protecting Melanie.
I’m wondering, now that EJ has ended his feud with Sami and has no use for Nicole will she try to snag Brady again. If she does I hope he tells her to keep walking.
I agree. I’ve been watching lately because of the Johnny storyline and Vivian being stranded on that island.
That I do remember but someone posted that years ago it was revealed that Stefano’s mother had an affair that resulted in John and she gave him to her sister to raise as an Alamain. I remember the storyline with Stefano’s mother, The Lady in White, but don’t remember her being John’s mother.
